News Nintendo Direct announced for February 8th

What does "mostly" mean? Does it mean what we think it means?
Games mostly releasing H1 2023 and maybe a few H2 stuff? Mostly games and maybe something on the Mario movie?

I shouldn't have any hardware-related hopes but please help me to end them immediately.
probably something H2, maybe even a hint for something 24, maybe a mobile game (pocket camp/mk/pikmin/FE Heroes update, maybe the long lost zelda mobile game?), maybe some news about the movie.
I would not hope to much for hardware, to many other options.

You mean we might get TOTK for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems?!

Yeah, but it will be a 2D demake with 3D popup sprites!

They do this all the time and end up showing whatever they want. It doesn't mean a whole lot other than to not expect eight big reveals for the holiday season.

This is like xy Direct is the Switch era are we are still talking about "mostly" or "focused." Sigh.

September 2019 - focused on 2019 games. - ended up revealing XenoblaDE
February 2021 - focused on available games like Super #SmashBrosUltimate and games coming to Switch in the first half of 2021. - Splatoon 3 (2022) game shown.
September 2021 - focused mainly on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter. - Splatoon 3 shown, Bayonetta 3, Sunbreak,
February 2022 - mainly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching in the first half of 2022. - Xenoblade 3,
September 2022 - information mostly focused on #NintendoSwitch games launching this winter. - TotK shown, Pikmin 4

And am probably forgetting a lot of E3 cases.

If I have to guess a game for 2023 second half to reveal is either Metroid Prime remake or the holiday game Mario 2D/DK

I'm now thinking there's a Super Mario segment for Super Mario RPG on NSO, Dr Mario 99 on NSO, Super Mario Middling Sports game for June, and New Super Mario Land as a '2023' title (later dated for late October).

Nothing, it usually means nothing

Ok so enough fuckin around with old news. General direct in June or Partner showcase?

Silksong (opening)
Baten Kaitos
Xenoblade 3 story DLC trailer
2d Mario?
Pikmin 4
Kirby
F-Zero GX HD
Something Metroid
TOTK trailer (with or without a specific Direct announcement)

That would be a very strong Direct

Yup. Kirby and the Forgotten Land in September 2021 as well. I think we'll get two first-party announcements that extend beyond the window given in the tweet.

That would probably be one of the best nintendo direct's of all time

As always no expectations. Would be nice to see actual gameplay of Pikmin 4. If I get that I’m satisfied.

Lol things are exactly as expected, direct tomorrow is so exciting though! Will be thinking about it all day at work tomorrow before I get to watch in evening

Tweet reads out pretty much how I thought, don't think they would highlight TOTK in it but still it should be shown tomorrow.

I dont think that the Story DLC for Xeno 3 and BK will be in the same direct

Iirc the big DLC expansion is planned for holidays this year, i doubt they will show it.

But they could show the next wave of the game's DLC, the next new hero.

A little Nintendo heavy ans too many things we've heard about or previously announced. Iirc they had spring direct around 40 mins where they announced / talked about games in the high double digit 18 to 20. I expect something similar

I wonder anything Atlus will come up? Vanillaware or perhaps dare I dream P3 Remake or P6? Or that dungeon crawling rpg which I forget it's name, I think it had odyssey 1 time on the 3ds.

Maybe Vanillaware, but the "first half of 2023" makes me think Persona won't be here. (Aside from the usual Atlus reasons.)

Where's Etrian Atlus?

I will be happy with just Zelda, but if Silksong and anyone among 2d mario, donkey kong and metroid is there... oh BOY

Dear Nintendo,

We know you have a working Switch Gameboy emulator. You know we know this. You also know we want this, and you want to keep people subscribing to online.

So why don’t we all just hug it out, and celebrate you dropping this tomorrow.

Signed,
Nintendo Fans Everywhere

It was so nice locked up with you insatiable inmates the last four months. Maybe the Direct should be cancelled so we can continue enjoying the Fami's company.

Square Enix all but confirmed to be a part of the direct..

But I think we all expected them to be there anyway :p

Yep, when SE is probably the third-party publisher with the biggest number of announcements/trailers in recent Directs.

Octopath 2 demo shadowdrop and DQ 3 Remake, let's go baby.
