I got a phone. I am almost like one of them adults now. Just 10 years too late.
Figured I'd neatly display all my Nintendo-related Big-Box items to take some pics of my collection.
I did not find while searching, but do we have a good Thread for, like, showing off Pictures of collections here?

I think 2D Mario just isn't ready yet, not something done in purpose or anything.
They started Super Mario Maker 2 development right after the first, and it came out in 2019. Assuming a 2D Mario started development right after, it wouldn't be out before 2022 anyways, and we also had COVID, games taking longer than ever to produce and possible changes in scope. 2023 would be only normal development time(Metroid Dread took 4 years, SMM2 also did take almost 4 years).
Donkey Kong can be a case of not having a studio to take the project as Retro was doing something after TF that got canceled, then started MPR and MP4. EPD Tokyo completed Super Mario Odyssey in 2017, started hiring for a 2D action game in 2020, that's probably DK, and probably will come in 2023 or 2024.
Mario Kart really was the case of the port taking away the need of a new installment. The DLC being 48 courses(which is MK8+DLC worthy of content), and coming until the end of 2023 makes me think a new Mario Kart is out of question even for 2024 or 2025. I REALLY hope EPD 9 is making another game alongside Tour/Booster Course, like an ARMS 2, a new IP or a revival tho.
I think all these explanations are perfectly reasonable, I'm personally also not disappointed. But maybe people who don't have this insight will be critical about how things panned out. Then again, why do they do a podcast if they don't know this stuff.

I have to finish AI The Nirvana Initiative and Xenoblade 3 ( chapter 5 ) before Fire Emblem Engage releases. Being a weeb is difficult.

I know it's gonna be a good year for me if I already have to think about which games I will have to skip because of a lack of time...
What a weird list. Skipped too many great games. And this is still so after they added 5 games to make it a 30 game list.

Seriously am I the only person who has hypes for the Bomberman R2 release?
Or for THREE great Trails games releasing next year?
Or for the first ever action DQ game, Infinity Strash?
Remaster of one of the best VanillaWare game, GrimGrimoire?
TWO remakes from the Front Mission saga?
Return of N64 wrestling in AEW form?
Online enabled Megaman BN games?

I mean Dreamlight Valley is there despite being a 2022 game, over so many more deserving games.

It's just what these two people are most looking forward to

It only gets better!! Some moments in this game are so memorable I felt like I was a kid playing and replaying Resident Evil 4. The bosses are epic, the characters are all super charismatic and there's plenty of diversity on gameplay.

While it's the only 2022 game I played (alongside Arceus), it's definitely my GOTY so far.

As I get further into the game I completely agree with your statement. From what I have seen of this game it’s surpasses both 1+2 for me easily. If it keeps the crazy pace consistent I’m going to have one hell of a time!

Hey fami! Got a question, from a newcomer on the Splatoon series (the 3rd entry got me really really interested), do you recommend starting playing the 2nd of the 3rd one? I'm interested in the competitive and the campaign modes. Please help 🥺🥺🥲

The third entry was my first game with the series (what a great game). Start with the campaign to learn the basics, which is quite meaty and enjoyable for a game like this. Then head over for online matches, which is probably the most fun I had in a long time. You don’t need to play the previous entries, the third entry is where you will find all the players and updates.

Grusha seriously rocks. I love how he thinks it’s so uncool that your character wants a selfie with him.
He is partly a jerk, and partly a adorable guy that we need to protect. And to bully for more selfies.
I also just like feminine guys in general, haha. Still need to draw him sometime.

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y trademarks were re-registered in Japan for no discernible reason and now Twitter is going crazy over Kalos DLC for ScarVio

The first game already looked gorgeous, can't wait to see it get announced for Switch in the future.

Yeah, Ghost of a Tale both cutest and most atmospheric stealth game I've ever played But that UE5 hashtag makes me think we might not see the sequel on the current iteration of Switch...

Funny you post this, because I had a dream last night I was looking through my 3DS collection and found Pokemon X&Y2 and was super hyped to play it.

Woke up this morning to my flight home being cancelled (hooray for flying Southwest). So I guess 2 more days of staying with family.

May have to start Part Time UFO.

Well hopefully I can get myself calmed down a bit. Got some Lego to do, then a kit, then hopefully my hands are up for some painting this week. Plenty of game and anime time too. Just trying to relax and enjoy some quiet time

Oh my god my code for equipping items and passive skills is a horrible mess. I did that like 8 months ago, glad I know what the hell I'm doing now so fixing it won't be too hard.

Have yourself a relaxed time!

I'm glad you're enjoying it!! the game really is something else, I enjoyed every second I had with it. I have to rent Bayo1+2 now to play those as well. Also can't wait for Origins. Wish Bayo 4 wouldn't take 10 years.

Yep, I'm an Aussie. Raised out in the bush, where we actually had a wombat living under mum's house for a while, no joke. So like, very Australian even by Australian standards haha. (EDIT: Didn't see the above til I posted, so cheers for remembering!)

You an Aussie too? :)
Haha that's amazing. My wife would be very jealous, she loves wombats

I'm Australian, although I live in the states now. Haven't been back for years now thanks to Covid and weird immigration laws :(

fair warning, the new eighting content is so mid

it has some fun ideas and design choices but there's only so much they could do without making any new environments
hey I'm sure you've said this already but if I already own Pikmin 3 on wii u should I just play it on there or get a cheap copy of Deluxe? Got a new Gamepad so my bluetooth adapter is no problem anymore

before pikmin 4 was confirmed I would've begged you to buy deluxe

Yeah I did the prequel missions when they were unlocked. I like the concept - it calls back to the original game being a real test of efficiency - but knowing the map layout meant I platinum medalled them all at the first attempt.

My story completion came in at 10 hours 1 minute. On the one hand, I really appreciate having a quality single player game I can complete in a reasonable length of time. On the other hand, I kinda want Pikmin to be a little meatier; though that's obviously never been the emphasis of the series.

Holiday Jazz Day 27: “Soulful Frosty (feat. Stefon Harris)” Dave Stryker

Such a fun and funky song. It’s basically Soulful Strut by Young-Holt Unlimited (also popularized by Grover Washington Jr) with Frosty the Snowman interspersed throughout (primarily on organ). The electric guitar combined with Harris’ vibraphone is such a great pairing.

Anyone have some ideas for a name of Direct speculation thread?

I have some good candidates but would love to see some community ideas too.
I kinda thought of "We're In The Endgame Now" for the Avengers reference and the sort of looming feeling that the Switch is due for a turnover, but I'd be afraid it sounds kinda dark without having it explained 😅
