Well dang it, now I have to play Returnal. It seems like a game I'd enjoy and you pushed me over the edge.

Also congrats to @chocolate_supra for hitting 10k o7

I really, really like it. It's a roguelite, which I'm honestly usually mixed on, but it does great things with the mechanics and integrating them in cool ways. Feels almost metroid-like in a lot of ways, at times. And yeah, it has both a couple sweet twists, as well as some of the best bosses for sheer spectacle I can think of. Highly recommended!

There's more but it's mostly people trying to figure out ways to shoehorn C&H side characters into potentially growing into FC characters, and can get sorta messed up

I've also seen it said that Tyler wearing that big fur coat could be an easter egg as to the connection but that's a hell of a stretch, though a fun one

I've come to the cold realization that I'm going to end up not liking the likely candidates for Game of the Year (Elden Ring) and Anime of the Year (haven't watched Chainsaw Man's first episode but I have read the manga, which I think is a very well done work that I absolutely don't care for)

to be fair I detailed the characters lovingly (or wrathfully) on a tridimensional spectrum — and though I speculated on queerness at length, I’d say all proposed orientations also covered romance, friendship, and the ever-elusive ~vibe~

I refuse to let queerness be simmered down to sexual orientation alone when the tapestry is much richer with seams at far more interesting angles of interaction

except for peach and mario, who are tridimensional out of literal necessity and therefore an affront to poetic justice

This is absolutely not as nuanced of an analysis as Suswave's, but as the one person who cares about Mario the character on Fami, allow me to throw my hat in the ring:

While it is amusing to call Mario the Token Straight in a sea of queerness, I find the idea of a demiromantic & demisexual Mario very compelling, and it ties in to potential ways I can think of the character. I can flesh this out more when it's not 2 AM where I am, lol

I’m very slowly making my way through FF7. I only play it in the mornings before work, so I get in maybe 30-40 minutes a day. Even still, I made it through the Shinra building and out into the world map after a little over five hours.

I’m finding it hard to not use the infinite HP and MP button. It’s basically a free heal at any time, and it fills all your limits. But it definitely feels like cheating, plus it makes Aerith’s healing wind limit absolutely useless. I wanna not use it, but the fact that I know it’s there, all I have to do is click the right stick, makes me use it more often than I should.

The other QOL features like speed-up and no encounters are useful, and don’t feel like cheating. It’s only the full bars one that’s a problem!

I didn’t even know that cheat was there, and I’m glad I did not! There are a few bosses I would have been tempted by…

I would recommend abstaining from it because the game is already kind of easy, but don’t feel bad if you need to use it to get out of a jam. It would be a shame to miss out on completing a seminal game because of its one or two purposefully annoying encounters!

You are a bit further than me - I'm just about to enter the building..
Not gonna lie.. when I'm bored of the game.. which is almost all the time ;P I do use the same cheat..

It'll definitely help me get through the game at some point though, not ashamed to use it.

Prime 1 Remaster for this holidays is dead (at least for me)

I expect a dual MP1R & 4 announcement at GameAwards. MP1R for late march 2023 and 4 for late 2023.

Then 1 2 Everybody’s Switch or other casual gamer title and Advance Wars 1+2 for April (west only).

Zelda Totk for may as we know.

And a mario game for june. Either Mario Baseball or new 2D game (if 3D Tokyo project is slated for this holidays)

I think H1 is shaping to have a very solid lineup.
