It's a shame though.

BoTW had the most amazing reveal trailer(besides the 2014 and GA trailer). It explained everything, from how gameplay worked, to the tone of the game.

With Tears of the Kingdom, we are pretty much getting breadcrumbs. I just want a solid trailer.

I suppose it doesn't need it, because it's the sequel to one of the most important and beloved games of all time. But still.

I genuinely can't understand them being so coy unless they're waiting for the Switch 2/Pro reveal to have the big info blowout.

It makes sense. BotW was the biggest software driver of Switch's success, let's do the exact same thing for the next one.

And honestly, I think they're right to do so.

They waiting for the Feb/March direct for a blowout lol. I can't. They should've shown off more.

I will say, that title may actually be the reason this direct didn't air live in the UK lol.

How are they still doing "that's it?" trailers.
Hard to even be excited with a name and release date when we've seen maybe a minute and a half of gameplay in total.
I disagree, I like that they’re keeping people guessing. Still 8 more months until release.

Bill Trinen saying "the title would reveal a feature" was just an easy way to not tell that they just still hadn't decided on a title yet.

These short teasers are killing me, we saw less footage here then in the last trailer. At least it looks pretty interesting.

Also in retrospect why were they so coy with the title, can't really glean any "spoilers" from it
They don't care about "spoilers," they withheld the title because, at the time, they felt it'd reveal too much about what makes the game unique and just wanted to delay that marketing beat. It's funny that the trailer doesn't really elaborate on the title, though.

I think "tears" is meant to be read as rips.

Malice coming out of Death Mountain.... biggest underground world tease yet imo

We finally have a name and a date but like 2 minutes of actual gameplay over 3 years.

I'll take it. At least the road is paved for a big ass blowout now.

people were expecting the game to be delayed again, with the void filled withfull priced HD game we already got in HD version few years ago
now we have a firm release date, final name, and we are 100% playing the better-looking sequel to one of the greatest games of all time, and we are complaining that we saw just a teaser? game is going to be out in 9 months, there is plenty of time to learn more about details (IF we want to be spoiled, btw)

8 months actually!

In my mind this getting a release just solidifies that it’s not a drake launch title, or that the device is not coming in the first half of 2023 at all.

At this point I think it's pretty obvious they are trying to show as least as possible from the game. I bet they regret announcing it in 2019.

They will only properly showcase it in all its 4K glory when they finally announce the new Switch version (I guess in January/February).

best Artwork of Link.... like ever....seriously. He looks so good.

I don't understand how much is that title a spoiler lol since the trailer itself hasn't revealed anything substantial new. I guess what Bill Trinen said "it's a spoiler" was kinda misinterpreted.

Indeed.

Gorgeous - Since no one else is commenting on how great it looks I will. It's going to be the best looking game on the system.

It was a tease, but it presented us with not only a name but a release date as well. I am pleased.

Alot of Aztek vibes. I think the Zonai will be very important.
On the tapestry, we can see a figure with 7 tears around her and they have the Zonai spiral on them. I really think this game will focus on this tribe while Botw focused on the Sheikah.

Edit : wait... but like there is literally the Zonai dragons as the logo for the game. Y'all it's Zonai time

Tears of the Kingdom because Queen Zelda, when falling of that cliff, died. The name really would have it given away.

Nintendo comfortable in doing these 1 minute teasers because they know fans will do the marketing for them by making 1 hour long videos deconstructing every single morsel of what was shown

For example; why does the Master Sword turn into those green Twilight Realm type lines, and why does that seem to be the main element of the logo. That isn't the Sheikah engravings because those are blue.

Yeah, third teaser but with a release date and a name.

Anyway, was hopping for more footage. Guess we have to wait around 5 months for the next trailer.

I kinda liked my "Skies of the Past" title more, but oh well. I think it's just a strange feeling to actually have a title instead of using BotW 2 for more than 3 years.

Best i hoped was them cutting down to a month, but here we go, full on date for the release down to the day.
This game won't be delayed any further, and i'm so happy about thta.

the good: no delay

the bad: still don't really know anything about the game

the ugly: that fucking title holy shit

Let's be honest, March or May, there was little to no chance they would've done a Switch 2017 Presentation style blowout trailer when the game is still more than 6 months away.

At the first part of the trailer i saw a "carving" of atleast 7 tears surrounding the deer looking guy. I think the "Tears of the kingdom" is a spoiler because the game revolves around collecting the tears and sealing ganon again

Guys... as much as I wanna see as much of the new Zelda as I possible.

But...think back to BOTW. What did we really see 8 months out from release? Right, only whatever they had shown at E3 2016. Which seemed like a lot at the time, but it really was just the tutorial area, strictly speaking. We knew and saw not ONE thing beyond the tutorial area until the Switch Release show in January - 2 months out from release. It did feel like more because BOTW re-invented the series formula, so they had more to show gameplay-wise without REALLY showing everything. I do expect new gameplay elements here, but not to the level of what BOTW did for the series.

So it makes total sense that they can't really show much when they want to save it for a huge hype blowout whenever the time is right. That worked wonders for them last time so it's no surprise they're doing it again.

Also - not sure why people dont think the name would give away a feature in the game. Do you not remember the E3 trailer?
