i played the golden deer route, i only remember a few plot details tho. i do have a friend who’s a three houses nut so i guess i could ask them if I get lost lol.
Golden Deer is probably enough to have a grip on most of the important spoiler-related stuff, I think.

I'm guessing AU means alternate universe here. It's completely different from Three Houses. Kind of a what if Byleth didn't go to the school to teach. Same hopes and dreams of the three lords but it plays out differently. It still spells stuff out for newcomers, it's just nice to know things kind of thing. Not needed to enjoy it by itself.
Ah okay awesome, sounds like I’ll be in for a good time then!

Don't wanna brag, but this chili cheese ramen with a salty vegetable broth I just created is delicious AF

I'm away from home for the next few days for an event. The problem is, I have some pretty long layovers between times when I need to be somewhere. I might be able to finish 13 Sentinels with all this time on my hands!

Yo what's the recipe, my man? I love Chili Cheese Fries, so I'd love to try that.
I'm guessing there's no beans in there, right?
Nope no beans!

  • Make a broth by cooking vegetables to your liking or just use pre-made broth
  • Heat a small body of water with some olive oil. slowly add the broth
  • Wait until it cooks, add fresh noodles. Can be udon, soba or whatever you fancy! Let it cook for 2 minutes
  • Prepare the cheese in verry small chunks. Add extra's if you like (small chucks of tofu for example)
  • Add some seasoning. Use spices you like. If you use hot chili sauce, add it last. Stir, and let it cook for two more minutes
  • Turn the stove off, slowly pour the nodles in a bowl and add the soup.
  • Add the cheese and whatever extra you prepared. If you like egg, this would be the time to add a raw egg, cover it in noodles. Put a lid on the bowl for one minute
  • Take of the lid. Enjoy your meal!

Thx a lot, I'm still a newbie when it comes to cooking anything but desserts but this seems easy enough. Gonna buy some pre made broth later and make my mission to do this tomorrow. Thanks again!!

No problem! Ramen, soups and that kinda foods are easy to make and VERY open to experimenting with sauces, broths, seasoning etc. You can easily get a feel for what you like in that department and then explore more complicated cooking as you go and you know what kind of food you like and how you like it seasoned.

Happy cooking!

I played Kirby 64 for the first time using NSO. Put about an hour into it. It's...interesting. I wouldn't say it's a great platformer at this point but it's been decent. Definitely getting hit with nostalgia with that N64 presentation. The weird camera angles at times are messing with my depth perception. I understand that 3D was the hot thing back then but I'm glad side scrollers have stepped away from trying to blend stuff in the background with the actual plane of gameplay.

Nice, hoping for some MCU film news. Was disappointed by the DC stuff especially the bullshit Henry Cavill rumors that popped up the other day
Yeah, the classic "let's spread unsubstantiated rumors through our outlet, then get everyone's hopes up, then when it doesn't happen, act like we're just like everyone else who's disappointed and didn't contribute to that disappointment in the first place". Lmao screenrant.

With that said, I think Shazam 2 looks great (loved the first one) and Wakanda Forever is one of the best trailers Marvel has ever produced. Can't get excited for a bunch of titles at all, but since I have Regal Unlimited I'll be there when they come out.

Nope freaking rocked. Such a weird gem

Well all of a sudden the shoulder buttons(L,ZL,R,ZR) on my switch pro controller stopped working. Apparently the ribbon can come loose. Thankfully it just uses Phillips screws so I can take it apart myself

Even though it is considered the most fucking horrible game ever, I love to revisit the Turtles NES-game on the Cowabunga collection. There is so many memories attached to that game when it came out. Ya'll can mock me if you want lol

I plan on beating every game in the collection, and I will not be skipping that one.

It's also a good way for them to clear the decks for Phase 7.
I didn't even think about this. Phase 4 splintered the "sacred" timeline, Phase 5 could be the fallout, Phase 6 will end with the inevitability of all the alternate universes battling it out, the results of which could be a reset that creates a new "sacred" timeline, and then 7, 8, and 9 can be a clean slate return to one continuity. Smart.

Yeesh, that Marvel stuff stresses me out. I can barely plan the next week of my life.

What the hell is a 2025? Ain’t real.
I'm in a spot where thinking about the future gives me pretty serious anxiety so I'm trying to practice focusing on the present but weirdly the Marvel stuff gives me peace. It's something concrete, like it somehow anchors my mind to be able to say that no matter what else goes fucky in my life, no matter where I end up a week, a month, a year from now, I at least know I'll be in the theater watching The Russo Bros' Secret Wars on November 7, 2025.

I'm still hoping for a Henry Cavill online signing one day

I may not go to theaters as often as I used to but thank God they come around to Disney plus pretty quickly now

Didn't the Russos say they aren't directing the new Avengers movies?

Well this sucks, my shoulder buttons on my pro controller stopped working out of no where. I popped it open and couldn’t find any issues either 😦. This is lousy because it’s the main controller I use and they aren’t cheap. I’ve had it almost as long as my switch tho so it’s not like I haven’t gotten my money’s worth. Worst case I keep an eye out for the next sale. At least freehand joycons are comfy, been forever since I did em tho. And I have a fresh pair thanks to my new switch

Only thing I can think of that might have caused it was there was a static shock when I touched the controller earlier

I’m playing Tales of Arise. Let see how far I get before Xenoblade.

This game was compared heavily to Xenoblade tho I think it was just cause Xenoblade is popular on gaming centric fourms lol. Probably not much else. Anyways. Let see, I’ve heard mixed things on it but for 15 bucks? I can get some enjoyment and Time killer on it

Nope is definitely on my list of things to watch. Might catch it at the cinema while I'm back in the UK, if it's out then.
I want to see it too, hopefully in theaters, but I've got a really busy week or two before I can.

You know what would be cool? A Nope & Bullet Train double feature at the Drive-in.

As someone who beat Xenoblade three times and Tales of Arise twice, I can strongly say that Arise is nothing like Xenoblade, like not even close. Arise is just a prettier version of their recent Tales outings. I loved Tales of Arise for what it was but it also has some serious issues. I can't say what my (and my best friend who also played it) issue is with the game without spoiling it but you'll probably feel it too after you beat it. Still a great game, though.

The game is very fun and engaging to get through, but it has a couple major flaws that prevent it from being a top tier Tales game and JRPG in general.

It is a pretty modern Tales Of is the best way to define it I agree, even if the removal of co-op hurts my heart :(

So Tales of Arise got the male gaze unfortunately.

Only 10 minutes in and I’m saving this girl where the cutscene decides to focus on her chest and butt, and she runs like Arieth does in Remake. Not a good sign but it was a CG cutscene maybe it won’t be like this a lot or anymore…please.

The CG cutscenes also look like Fire Emblem Three Houses animation. Like a mixture of 2D and 3D. So far it’s much more linear then I expected. I only remember the first reveal trailer at that Xbox showcase long ago and I thought it was open worldish or open area. But just been an hour so let’s see.

Combat controls are super weird tho. I hate anything that make me click the sticks.

That's not even the worst part. The main issues are

the ridiculous levels of asset / enemy reuse and small amount of enemies in general

And..

The fact that the game dangled a SECOND PLANET in front of you and, paired with the new anime title screen the game drops after beating the fifth lord nearly 30 hours in, it turns out the planet was literally an empty husk and the scope of the game was drastically cut and the game instantly felt too small for its own good. Placing that second title screen 30 hours in after finishing the first planet made you think you were set for a massive adventure on the neighboring planet; instead what we got were a few more repetitive dungeons and the second planet being nothing but a highly repetitive final dungeon and nothing more.

Oh okay. Should be interesting at least.

But I just saw the Main protagonist get a Flame Sword after putting their hands on a woman chest.

I think it’s a coincidence. But it was funny nonetheless lol.

Mind letting us know where you got it for 15 bucks?

Amazon. But it was around 2 months ago on Amazon so probably not gonna be found at that price. It was really 19.99. I just had 5 bucks credit left from Amazon from a item I returned.

Ah ok. Tales of Arise is on my "Interested but not at full price so I'll probably pick up during holiday sales" list. I got Scarlett Nexus for cheap last year during the holidays and it made for a good vacation playthrough.

Still need to see it. Is it better than Us?
I personally didn't like Us very much, so for me it's a resounding yes. I will say, Us was creepier/scarier, but I found it super lacking in the script department once the 2nd half hit. Nope has some interesting subplots that might not work for everyone, but especially as someone who works in this business, boy did it work for me. Also imo Peele's career-best work as Director, specifically.

I'd go Get Out >>> Nope >>>>>>>>> Us
Nope is definitely on my list of things to watch. Might catch it at the cinema while I'm back in the UK, if it's out then.
If it's still in IMAX by the time you're back, I can't recommend that experience enough.

Speaking of games I bought at launch at full price (deluxe edition even,) I’m considering grabbing the digital PS5 version of FFVIIR Intergrade while it’s on sale. I have the PS4 disc but I don’t really trust the whole disc check system with all the other problems that have gone on with the PS5 SKU

Didn't the Russos say they aren't directing the new Avengers movies?
They did. But in several interviews over the past couple years they said the only way they'd be willing to return to Avengers films is if Marvel ever decided to do Secret Wars.

And then the next Avengers movie Marvel announced was Secret Wars. LOL So I'm just assuming.

Final Fantasy Remake is one where I haven’t had any issues with the PS4 disc into PS5. And I bought the DLC as well. No issues or anything. Only annoying thing was installing. Gotta install the PS4 version. Then download the PS5 upgrade. While still needing the disc.

So digital PS5 is probably just way more convenient lol. But I bought the physical Deluxe version of FFVII remake as well so kinda don’t want to spend more on it, even tho I manage to get the special edition for 55 due to some Amazon discount.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that’s how I ended up with my deluxe edition too. Maybe I will just buy the DLC instead and then if I feel like I want access to it from anywhere via remote play, I’ll pick up the digital version for real cheap.

I recently played Final Fantasy VII Remake where the Lock on really sucks.

Damn, it’s worst in Tales of Arise lol. Clunky and the combat not being as fluid as Remake is what really makes it worst in the end. Maybe it’ll get better since my control mindset is set to “remake and Three hopes” and I’m just not registering the Arise controls fully yet.
