I would guess a Partners Direct in 2022 will be better than the ones in 2020. This one should be because Nintendo wanted to do it and they weren’t forced, unlike 2020.
Especially if it’s a partner that’s made up of E3/June reveal obligations

Like some others have been saying Partners would be kind of weird to bring back as I thought it was mainly just for 2020. Maybe a Regular Mini with a bit more 3rd party focus. Though going by Nate im just expecting a Partner now lol and hoping its still good. Mini or General would be a nice surprise

The things I most want to see are:

If Mini: Metroid Prime, Fire Emblem

If Partner: Silksong, Persona, FF Pixel Remasters, Tactics (Ogre or FF)

If it's a Partner, they could honestly just be like "here's a 30-second clip of Silksong and it's coming out next month" and that'd be all I'd need

What if we get a new type of Direct:

Nintendo Direct: Future Road Map

Switch 2 announced, alongside a Metroid Prime 4 teaser (Switch 2 launch window), BotW 2 story trailer and title reveal (launches first on Switch, and a 4k update available at Switch 2 launch), next 3D Mario teaser.

My sources tell me that Nintendo will announce a Nintendo Direct-U tomorrow morning.

Please take this info with a grain of salt.

Whatever it is, it's hard to be disappointed about video games when in-person GDQ is back. I might actually play some this week.

I think I got it but am not 100% sure on it. The type of the presentation is Nintendo Direct Let's Play. It features various Nintendo employees playing upcoming games, for example Aonuma, Koizumi, Nogami, Takahashi against Furukawa, Miyamoto, Tezuka, Yabuki playing Turf War in Splatoon 3.

you guys still have a Switch?

No!!!!! The lack of a corporately produced ad reel every 3 months, even though game are still being produced and pumped out on a regular, has made me lose my needed dopamine rushes that I got from seen announcement after announcement!

Does anyone have the details on the Xenoblade 3 4chan (or Reddit?) leak again?

Was it

-Xenoblade 3 Direct was going to be announced
-it would be around 20 minutes
-the following week it would get a story trailer in the direct

?

here's something funny I found to help cool some of the madness going on

I wanna see Aonuma finishing the first Zelda game or else I will riot!

I'm really not convinced Nintendo will ever do a Partner Showcase Direct again because the brand is toxic, but Partner Showcase Directs exist to fulfill third party obligations when Nintendo isn't doing normal Directs. I don't think that there is a compelling case to be made that Nintendo just won't do any first party presentation this summer, but it is at least possible they could be doing a nonstandard one that doesn't have as much room for third party announcements in it, such as a hardware showcase.

We were CONVINCED WayFoward was making a Wario Land game… fam it was NUTS
Speaking of WayForward
  • 2010- Risky's Revenge
  • 2014- Pirate's Curse
  • 2016- Half-Genie Hero
  • 2019- Seven Sirens
Averaging 3ish years between entries.. it's been almost three years since the last one.. what if the Partner Direct reveals the next Shantae?

I may be copiuming but seriously there's a lot of potential for a Partner or 3rd-party focused or whatever Direct to still have some great surprises. Remember, Silksong still isn't dated yall.

If it’s a Mini

  • Mario Kart 8 DLC track pack 2 dated
  • Mario Party Superstars DLC
  • Mario Strikers first DLC dated
  • Persona coming to Switch
  • Tactics Ogre remake
  • Skyrim Anniversary Edition update for existing game
  • Nier Automata coming to Switch

Oh yeah! I forgot about that.

yea that's the gist. They had the exact date as well.

Do partner directs typically cover a wide number of announcements or do they focus on just a few (say 1-4) announcements?

Puts tinfoil hat on

We will get a partner direct because Nintendo is keeping their first party offerings up their sleeves for when they reveal and announce the Switch 2 for a launch next Spring.

Universal Studios is Nintendo's partner.

The Partner Direct will show the first Mario Movie trailer.

This is not a guess nor a leak, I am trying to conjure this reality thru sheer will power.

I’m just gonna add to this, other insiders have dated the direct is specifically on the 29th not the 28th like Nate is saying and PH Brazil said it would take place Wednesday morning at 9am est. Plus he doesn’t know the branding and Nate honestly I don’t think he knows either. He probably just heard a couple 3rd party titles and saw the 3rd party focus article and is assuming a partner. I’m reality none of them truly know what it’s going to be.

While I’m not gonna lose my mind or anything if it’s a mediocre showing, I’ve learned to not trust any insiders as to the quality of the show. Has nothing to do with a lack of trust in them, it’s just that a good showing for one person might be a bad one for another. The recent Xbox showcase is a prime example of this.
Tbf Nate hinted towards a solid Showcase IIRC. Probably what the games he heared about are interesting, somehow. Let's Hope for the best

  • Nier Automata coming to Switch
Hell, both Niers! I just finished Replicant and I feel like that would be an even easier port than Automata. Bring them both so the Nintendo audience can be prepared for the reveal of Nier 3. 😏

Tbh I think insiders are wrong here. They know a date and maybe a couple third party games, and the impression they have is partner direct.

Yeah kind of sounds like a Regular Mini at least
It depends how you interpret "except for a final trailer."

Is it a) there will only be a story trailer in the upcoming direct or b) there is just one final story trailer to be released at some future time to complete the marketing before the game releases?
