It honestly sucks to feel this powerless. I've done my part with voting and donating, but it just doesn't seem to be enough.
 
I know you have to go through a series of steps to post a pic here, i did that with several sites but it still doesnt lets me post a pic of a raccoon meme i saw. ''image cannot be loaded from the link''

Does anyone know how to fix that?

Me too. I know that it feels like we DID that already and voting and getting better people elected last time didn't actually accomplish much of anything, and don't get me wrong I totally understand the frustration with that. BUT I do worry that when the next few big elections roll around we're going to be fucked due to gerrymandering/anti-voting measures/etc. plus a lot of especially younger people deciding it's not even worth it to vote since we've gotten slim to none done even with a dem majority.

voting isn’t doing shit when these stains are not only keeping Trump policies, but somehow making them worse while enacting their own extremely stupid and bad policies all while shoveling billions and billions into cops (who we had record-breaking widespread sustained protests AGAINST) and literally also the military, pulled out of schooling, meal security, social security, any slim notion of caring about a single person, etc

LIKE THIS IS NOT GOING TO JUST BUBBLE AWAY ON THE STOVE AND GET BETTER PLEASE FUCK THIS HAS TO STOP
 
I mean, POTUS isn't an emperor. I have complaints about his presidency, but there's not much he can do with the Senate tilted Republican forever.

We are just three different nations all crammed into one nation. We desperately need an amicable breakup and to move people into or out of the nation that they prefer to live in.

We need to organize outside the Democratic Party for a left-wing and working-class movement.

I would have voted for “colossal sinkhole state abolition and / or complete reshuffle”

and I would be just as disappointed when it turned out just the same, that this is all an accurate reflection of the evil in our collective hearts and the long strands of trauma and damage threaded through people

people who astound me in a vacuum, who can do beautiful things and be so kind and fling art into space because we long to connect

but people who will go out of their way to make me feel like shit and advocate for my systematic execution to captive audiences and would bleed me dry on the street if they had just a little more proof that there would be no consequence, or beyond that, they would be seen as having done a good thing

I was resding the cases that the 14th amendment due process clause (even more than equal protection) was used as justification for the decision and the future looks bleak depending on how cases are argued. Pretty much every civil right since the civil war used this clause as justification for the ruling. Basically this could be used to say you have no protection from monopolies, can’t marry who you want, can’t have birth control, could forcibly exclude demographics from institutions. States could now even deny public defenders since that was a ruling based on due process. It is going to get worse in certain states immediately. Any with a functioning government needs to get rights on the books immediately if they don’t have them codified and not assume court rulings will keep them that way.

By what metric is Biden "incredibly right-wing?"

This simply doesn't hold water.

In any case, the idea of organizing a left-wing, working class third party is nice, but also poor strategy. In a system with no power sharing and the electoral college, you'll never win anything outside of local elections. Also, "left-wing" and "working-class" are not similar groups and are often at cross-purposes ideologically.

We really need a setup like the German Bundestag and to abolish the Senate, which would allow a leftist party to power-share with other parties where possible.

I mean, from this perspective, existence in a location that has some sort of cultural or political connection itself is violence, which you can certainly argue! I don't know how helpful it is, though.

Nations are just a tool like anything else. They can be used in violence or not. There is ultimately nothing inherently violent about a nation. There's just a lot that's inherently violent about humans!
