Man. Those pixel remasters for Final Fantasy came and went. I wonder if they did well on mobile and steam.

But I had completely forgot that VI came out already cause I never saw anybody talk about it.

Damn, put them on consoles already.
Wait for the 29 partner direct :p

Can't imagine believing in a Partner Showcase that's only 3rd party 4.5 months after the last full direct. Mini at worst.

*with the assumption that this would be Nintendo's only major summer presentation. If a Switch hardware reveal is coming or something, obviously certain things might be saved for that.

Are we seriously panicking about partners again, jesus fucking christ. It will not happen, idk why random people keep bringing partners(clearly a one time thing) back from the aether. Especially if we're taking the word of a leaker notoriously unreliable with Nintendo rumors(TP/WW ports for 2020 came from him lmao) over people like Nate.

You guys seriously need to chill

This I don't get, where is this idea of a Switch hardware reveal suddenly coming from again?

Just asked Jeff Grubb in the Discord if he's thinking the same as Andy Robinson's tweet, and he said yes. So all you Grubb non believers better start believing him now or you'd be contradicting yourselves

A lot of Nintendo studios and common partners have no games announced, not even taking into account rumors they have to announce them. Only way to explain it would be that all of them are working on games exclusive to the next Nintendo console which doesnt seem realistic especially when most of us expect them to be cross-gen for a while

that sounds cool to me. I've wanted Directs to regain that personal touch for a while now
Switch Sports demonstration wasn't enough for you? Next week Everybody's 1-2 Switch wil be announced and Koizumi will be like "Okay, so what do you think? To be honest we don't know what the fuck to do with this game, do you like it? Or is it stinky stinky? Let us know in the comments, you will directly decide if this game will release or not."

Certainly an interesting, albeit disappointing turn of events if this is all accurate. The E3-time Direct is usually the strongest in the year, with the most anticipation built-up behind it as well. So for Nintendo to revert back to a Partner Direct, their indisputable worst video format, in their historically strongest period would irk me in a wrong way, to say the least.

Next week will be such a shit show lol

And I am not talking about the direct.

I bet Aonumas wife looks like that barkeeper woman from Twilight Princess

The only thing I saw about 6 was that they removed the animation for suplexing the train but have since added it back in and that the opera seen has been expounded upon (with weird angles and lyrics). These games really did come and go and should be put on console as soon as possible.

About Andy tweet, I think that it’s just speculation on his part and I can't see any reason to a partner happen this year, it was a failure in 2020 and Nintendo probably has more first party games to 2022 H2 than 2020 H2, but I'm preparing myself for the worst...

It is? How so?
The redrawn sprites and backgrounds lose a lot of the charm of the originals with an overly plastic feel. Absolutely kills the vibes by being an inconsistent mishmash of styles across the board instead of the cohesive feel of the original. It also has the same super cheap font of the other Pixel Remasters as well. It’s just generally unpleasant to look at. (Though it’s a relative big step up over the previous disastrous mobile version)

FFVI is one of my favorite games of all time, but Square regularly cheapens out on rereleases and puts little care into them. Sucks.

I hope next direct is a Fire Emblem direct.

It’s my favorite series.

But that’s not why I want one.

I wanna see the reactions cause I have a funny sense of humor

I hope the Pro gets announced next week.

The normal version of BotW 2 looks like a PS1 game.

Yeah I'm starting to regret making that Bingo Thread now

Gonna ask the mods to close it; the uncertainty and possibility of Nintendo clowning on me is too significant.

Y’all I know I’m a bit new here to be putting out the sass, but I’m a longtime lurker and I still don’t understand how people can take all evidence and precedent and come to the conclusion that Nintendo is only doing partner directs for the next 70 years or whatever.

I am not bothered in the slightest by the lack of news so far. There are unannounced games, and release dates for this year that are still yet to be announced so you're gonna get updates sooner rather than later, I think.

It would be highly unusual for Nintendo to have a major holiday title lined up and not announce it before July. COVID pandemic is the only time I can think of, with Age of Calamity. Ring Fit was announced a month or so ahead of release, but it's a casual title so that makes sense for it's marketing cycle.

So if next week is a partner direct, I have to conclude that Nintendo has nothing of note planned for this holiday outside of Pokemon and Bayonetta 3. Which doesn't really make sense considering FE 18 is reportedly done.

You guys were literally just reassured by Nate yesterday, like I think it's starting to get a bit ridiculous

You're really choosing to panic over Mr. Zelda ports 2020 for sure

You can close and reopen it if they announce a general ahead of time.

Give me:
NSO updates
MK8 second wave
Metroid Prime one remaster or trilogy.
Few indie games
Splatoon 3 final update
New DK game
Zelda BOTW title and or release date

That's a hype direct. And really not asking a lot IMO.

At this point, yeah. It's like the rollercoaster. Then a General Direct is announced and the people will be like "oh, yes of course that it's General Direct, Partner didn't make sense" imao

Here’s my line in the sand, if FF Pixel Remastered games aren’t announced for Switch, I’m burning my Lightning body pillow.

But seriously, it’s time. Square can’t be THIS incompetent.

Yeah, that's what I'm gonna ask.

I'm really tired of this tbh. It's so incredibly hard to have fun with the "Nintendo brand," anymore, because there's always the chance they're gonna pull some random bullshit that blindsides everyone. I really, really miss the E3 days :(

I mean this can go either way. Thats whats fun about Nintendo. Sometime they pull a stretched out Amiibo Festival reveal other times they randomly drop Super Mario Run at an Apple Event.

I'm gonna log off for a bit, for some reason starting to get agitated and angry at people here who have no say whatsoever in the matter, sorry for that btw because it's just stupid to do that in general, see y'all soon enough for the Partner next week I guess

I don't think this is him actually knowing things, just guessing (poorly) based on the fact that there's a Xeno Direct this week. People, even those who might have info, make assumptions like that quite a bit

At the worst I think we could get a Mini, but I think Partner Directs are dead. They only did them when they were a necessity

You do realise Nate also literally said that he couldn't dismiss a Mini/Partner?
Nate literally said, jokingly he will will it into existence if you kept dooming about it, and literally gave the presentation a rating based on what he thinks will be there. He can't 100 percent rule it out sure, but I think he's pretty damn sure
