Very kind thing to say! I haven't interacted much directly with either you or Nate, but I, as I think many others do, appreciate you both hanging out here.
 
Man I check in during the morning and it got lit.

I am a bit bummed that the thread sometimes swerves into full “everything is meh and I’m just going to be mean” territory at times. I think its important to note that if you are sceptical about certain pieces of information, nothing wrong with it. However, I also think its important to note that at times its a good thing to just step back from the thread if you feel that would suit you better. It helps.

As for the Direct, it’s gonna take a bit more time, but I don’t mind. I’m really curious what they are going to show.
 
As far as Direct Speculation:
I hope the June Direct actually spends its time on reveals instead of the big upcoming summer games. Yeah we've got some stuff like Xenoblad3 and Splat3n coming up soon that would make sense to show off with big blowouts but, like, I wanna be surprised. Really hoping they do a Treehouse to show off the stuff we already know about and give Direct time to the unexpected. 🤞
 
If there's really any true insiders on here, why don't you go and leak the Buddy Mission BOND English localisation release date?

get it? because there's no localisation? at least right now...
 
With Direct really coming at the late June, there will really be Miyamoto wishing us to have a great Summer, like in the General thread.

My man, even if you don’t believe Nate, Bloomberg talked about the “Switch Pro”. There was a reference to a new Switch chip in the NVidia leak. Imran Khan talked about the fact that some teams have dev kits for it (and if there’s someone in this industry that’s as reliable as it gets it’s Khan). So, yeah, Nintendo decided to not release the “Switch Pro” last year for some reasons. Doesn’t mean it’ll never release nor that it never existed in the first place
 
It's a very odd date, for sure. I get trying to escape from the weird clusterfuck that is this Non-E3 period, but I think they overdid a bit by jumping two whole weeks.

I haven't posted much here, been a lurker on here and Era (and gaf) for years though. Emily and Nate are always the first names I look for when any rumour pops up and I don't get how anyone doubts them still.

But also... I love the rumour mill and hype but there's no point getting angry over any of it. Nintendo released a game and a demo last week, at summer game fest we got 2 great looking Indies dated for this week (I've pre-ordered turtles, can't wait to play it), last night we got a new Silksong trailer and I've seen a bunch of indie reveals in the past few days (I'm pretty sure Plucky Squire got announced for switch? Best trailer I saw all week. And Cocoon looks cool) We've got loads of news and more news is coming, what's the rush

There's very likely going to be another trailer for both, but at the same time Nintendo doesn't really do "big blowouts" anymore, not in the way that they used to. The days of "let's listen to Gramps talk way too much about Xenoblade 2" are pretty much gone.

This is where I'm at. Nintendo could cancel the direct and this year would still be absolutely crazy for me. I still have Xenoblade, Bayonetta, Pokémon and Splatoon 3 to look forward to. And that's not even counting all the indies you mentioned.

Whatever I'm getting at this point is just a crazy bonus on top of an already stacked calendar. I'm definitely not starving.

I’m aware of the leaks from Chinese forums.

I’m referring western publications saying they expect hardware to show up in the coming weeks. When we get close enough to the actual announcement I feel like those are inevitable.

Edit: And yeah fair point I do wonder what it would take for Bloomberg to report again. I’m not sure last year’s kerfuffle would prevent them from dropping news this year if they take the right precautions, any that they might have overlooked last time.

Getting angry or upset at Insiders just because they got some things wrong, is the stupidest behavior.

That’s the reason Insiders such as King Zell / Captain Tsubasa left us back in ResetEra.

Honestly I think we need to tone down putting Nate and Emily on a pedestal. Whenever something even slightly happens everyone is @ing Nate or whatever. Let's just let them be, share what they want to and not elevate people to degrees where people get seriously angry if they get something wrong.

That peaked with smash at E3 2018 and the reaction probably made them think “yeah let’s never do that again”

The reaction to E3 2018 was positive outside of some small segments of enthusiasts (present company included). And they have done Directs -- though not E3 Directs -- with long segments focused on individual games since then, and announced they were doing so ahead of time as with Smash at E3.

Idk I feel like I haven’t seen as many “OH MOVE ON ALREADY” complaints levied at directs recently. They’ve all been pretty quick paced

Especially post-2020 I can’t think of any, really. The only one that that kind of got close for me personally was Switch Sports, but even then just as I was starting to think “okay this is getting a bit long” it ended
 
I’m a little sad about the fact that it is indeed the end of June, but I’m happy I can finally relax lmao

The fact that the date was leaked now make me think it can be announce this week and that the direct will have a threehouse, but who knows.
I can’t wait!

I mean, there have only been like 4 proper Directs post-2020.

I hope they handle it like in the Sept 2021 direct where they announced separate presentations for things that required a blowout. Iirc they did it for AC update 2.0 and Smash final dlc. It kept the flow of the direct intact and after the direct had ended, you still had other things to look forward to
 
Anyway the fact that this is after FEW really makes me think that a new FE will be announced.
And I swear, if Nintendo makes me wait till the end of June and then they don’t show anything about a new FE…🔪

A date to look forward to is nice. I just wanna hang out with some friends and enjoy some Nintendo hype.

I’m sure there’ll be at least a couple things that show up that make me happy. Though I’d love a new Rhythm Heaven.

Or… I dunno maybe a Splatoon spin-off idol rhythm game would be pretty fresh. :p

I'd say 95%, personally

Yes it was delayed but - especially if it's coming as a 'Switch Pro' launch title - I really can't see Nintendo waiting until September/October to show it again. It's their biggest upcoming game right now and not showing it will raise some serious questions from investors and such.

I'd also think that Aonuma is tired of apologising for BotW2 delays at this point :p

Look at how many latched on to June 15 for the Direct. Did I? Nope. Why? Because it was never that date. If this window was wrong, then, I would have said it didn't match what I was hearing, too.

I've implied "late June" since May.

If they keep the September date roughly the same, this might be the closest two Directs we had for a long time (end of June until early September). They’ve always been close together but this time even more.

Then again, things might change this year if Nintendo indeed plans to launch new hardware with a separate event in the fall or something

I hate insiders because they don't tease or confirm a new Rhythm Heaven, I don't care if it's not in the works, I want it now.

Anyway I doubt they’ll reveal the Switch Pro tbh
I expect it in 2024 at the earliest.

But even if they announce it, it’s okay, I just hope there won’t be exclusive titles for it till 2024-2025. I love playing on my switch lite…
