So … let me start by saying that I LOVE my Nintendo Switch! Best purchase ever and favorite console in a long time. First things first.

However, I signed up for the Steam Deck back in February and just got notice I can actually get one now. Are there some people here who own both? How do these two compare? Do you still go back to your Switch, or mainly play on the Steam Deck now, or the other way round? I’m not sure yet that I’m actually gonna get it, am curious what others have to say.
It mostly depends on what you want to play on Deck, I'd say. The Deck's obviously a more powerful device, has a bigger screen (at least compared to the base Switch I have) and it's more comfortable without accessories than the Switch. That being said, for me it mostly comes down to the games. I used my Deck a lot when I first got it in March up until a bit ago, and then decided to clear some of my Switch backlog and may not touch my Deck again until I'm done with XC3

Your favorite characters up to this point in time?

I am interested in playing more games with more female characters, especially ones you can play as.

MS's "silo" approach gives me at least some confidence that Halo Infinite's issues are an isolated incident. I'm sure that most of their other upcoming stuff will be fine.

Also Starfield isn't a Microsoft project, it's a Bethesda one. It'll be fine, but I do wonder if expectations are too high. Myself included.

So my 4 year old's class was closed for the next week because someone in it tested positive. Now she can't see her grandma likes she's been looking forward to all week. She goes "why does my world keep getting turned upside down, I'm so sad"

Covid is the worst.

My sister just got done teaching for the year and yeah, Covid and school is a complete shitshow, especially if you live in a more red county like she does. Someone in the class testing positive means they have to "quarantine". AKA they now have to wear masks during class... that's it. No other differences. They don't really cancel school or anything for any reason, just move kids around and tell the kids that caught Covid to stay home for a few days, basically. And just have to deal with random staff and teachers being out with it like a revolving door all year.

Nope, it's right on time. Construction has been ahead of schedule for a while.

Ironically enough, I literally just got hired at Universal Florida 10 minutes ago.
Congrats!

I'm so glad I don't live in that kind of area jeez.

Yuna. Especially in X-2. Possibly one of my favorite FF characters.

Chie from Persona 4. All hail Chie.

Terra from FF6. Bad ass and green hair plus she used a mech.

Lightning. I loved the first FF13 game. Sue me. Sequel sucked, but she was not the character in it so it does not count. Lightning Returns is a cool game that should not have been tied to FF13 at all, because just like 13-2, it ruins the point of the original game. That said, it stars her, so I pretend it is someone else called Lightning.

Nia from Xenoblade 2. Her Scottish accent seals the deal.

That’s very helpful, thanks! Didn’t realize the Deck is actually more comfortable than the Switch? Good to know. And yeah, I mostly want to get it for all the games that will never come to Switch and that I‘d love to play on a handheld, Elden Ring, Mass Effect, that stuff. Might have to get it, then.

Likewise, I like Fang a lot in FF13 as well. Badass, great look and design, strong, and a solid rock for the team, as well (plus her relationship with Vanille is great).

PlayStation generates hype, and then their showcase is some avant-garde shit that bores everyone to tears.
Microsoft generates hype only when their games release.
Nintendo lets the community generate hype and then just announces a date for a showcase.

Still can't fathom the fact that this game sold three copies worldwide with such a banger soundtrack

(Also it'd be nice if one day the songwriter could come out and confirm that yes, it is an hommage to Calamari Inkantation from Splatoon)

The game was really good but they should really stop trying to make "SMT spin off turned into Persona wannabe".

TMS flopped
SH2 is so far heading that way

Just stop

Man, setting up a modem nowadays is a shit show.
Everything's locked behind the app and the app is locked behind an Xfinity online account and if you don't have either then you're hosed 😩

It's way too early to call SH2 a flop, isn't it? I'm definitely looking forward to it. It's probably my second most anticipated game for this year, after XC3.

Feena from Grandia - look her up; she is one of toughest girls around in the game and has great chemistry with Justin the protag. Its also one of the few gaming romances I really like.

Yeah while it is a bit heavier by itself it's more ergonomic which makes it a bit more comfortable to me at "base level"

You can make up the difference though with grips and such for the Switch though. I tend to use one nowadays and with that I'd say the Switch is more comfortable.

As I wrote, so far it's not looking good.

Ah, I see what you mean. And I can totally understand that, but I think that has far more to do with it not being on Switch (for no good reason) than it being Persona-like. Especially when you have SMTV setting record numbers for the series as a Switch exclusive, having SH2 only on PS really seems like a bizarre move.

SH2 is also on Xbox/PC, which only makes it worse for SH2 to skip the Switch if it was PS exclusive at least they would get free money/marketing out of it.

If I was Microsoft I'd already be in talks for not just Soul Hackers 2 but also the new Star Ocean.
SH2 it seems like there is some type of Sony marketing deal at least in Japan, if this is the case and it follows previous Sony marketing deals policies means no GP for one year after release.
SO6 has a Sony marketing deal though 100% so it will have to wait a year for GP

I think Microsoft check already cleared for SH2 seeing the random Windows Store platform support. It's probably getting on Game Pass 6 months after launch.

I honestly forgot it was on Xbox and PC, too. That will probably help, at least a little, especially in the west.

I wouldn’t expect the game to be saved by the West with how Atlus has treated the marketing of it on the West and Xbox SKU will not help that much.

It will depend on overperforming on Steam and Steam isn’t reliable at all for JRPGs especially ones that don’t have a strong brand behind it. And with not even an Steam page open now it seems Atlus doesnt want to help at all Steam performance of the game

SH2 is just another case of Atlus doing dumb decisions (I’m not talking about platforms) , it will need really high scores+great WoM or a huge positive change on the marketing of the game to do well in the West

if splatoon 3 lets me skip that stupid intro in the beginning i will consider buying it.

In another subject, i hope that in steam's summer sale death stranding will be included. I noticed that geforce now allows me to play it, and im very curious to give DS a try. That and Cyberpunk. Both controversial games (although Cyberpunk to a much, much, much higher degree lul)

In yet another note, i never played P.T but is it only me that feels that the game would not be as praised if it was a full game? It being only a demo gives a lot of room in people's minds to imagine their perfect game.

That depends on WoM and even then only on PC; I doubt the Xbox will have any impact on western sales.

Well I did it, just finished painting the first miniatures game I ever got(one of the first real board games I got too. Well technically there’s still the AT-ST but that doesn’t matter as much painting wise

Pretty happy with how it turned out too. Now if I could just get it to the table

the intro with the two cuties who are precious and deserve to be protected? yeah, im gonna k*ll you.
They're cute the first time around. After the 300th goddamn time I just want them to shush and let me play the game.
