It's clearly running on the New Nintendo Switch, guys!
Open-world Sonic... Not sure how I feel about that.
In general? No, it doesn't look unfeasible
it doesn't look unfeasible on Switch for what we've seen so far.. or maybe I'm too optimistic?
This is the perfect time to confess that Sonic games have never actually been goodThis is the perfect time for me to confess that I never played a Sonic game.
I thought you were going to say you could watch it easily on YouTube. That Sonic footage is totally feasible on Switch
Sonic Frontiers - Cloud Edition
Where was it uploaded? There's a new patent for Pikmin just uploaded, I don't know how to share it though.
Yeah that's like the definition of a no brainer. Anyone who skips this is daffy.Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete is only $2.49 on GOG. It comes with the base game and both expansions, for a total of ~20 campaigns.
Don't even think about it, just buy it. That's hundreds of hours of addictive gameplay cheaper than a latte, and it runs on toasters at this point.

Looks like it hasn't hit google patents yet, I can do a quick glance of it and see if I can see anything interesting.uspto.gov
The US government patent site, you can public search, I just searched "Nintendo", 7th result.
Hurry before someone "leaks" this.Looks like it hasn't hit google patents yet, I can do a quick glance of it and see if I can see anything interesting.

Except, surprisingly, for Jeff Fowler and Ben Schwartz.at this rate nothing can save sonic
Yeah if they keep the environmental poly count under control and optimise LOD and hell, even allow relatively close pop-in for the foliage (especially since you'll be blowing past a lot of the ground foliage at speed with blur effects), I would not be surprised if Switch could run this, as long as...

...there it is.the question is, will SEGA appropriately optimize and prioritize the Switch (and best-selling) version?
NGL, I thought about this. It's clearly running on the New Nintendo Switch, guys!
Sonic Origins will be a good place to start, if you wait till it's on sale maybe. This is the perfect time for me to confess that I never played a Sonic game.
You are entitled to your wrong opinion, dude. This is the perfect time to confess that Sonic games have never actually been good
Sorry @chocolate_supra
I will hype with you, don't worryyeah i really don't agree with most people here, i think this looks good
It was filed in Japan in 2019, looks like it's primarily about using single joycons for multiplayer gameplay where one joycon has fewer buttons than another, and coming up with some kind of system to compensate for having fewer buttons.Hurry before someone "leaks" this.
Some of the photos certainly match Pikmin, and the inventors are all Pikmin guys, I think it's Pikmin. It was filed in Japan in 2019, looks like it's primarily about using single joycons for multiplayer gameplay where one joycon has fewer buttons than another, and coming up with some kind of system to compensate for having fewer buttons.
I'm having trouble conceptualizing it from the document but it doesn't appear to be specifically focused on Pikmin or anything.
Guess I have to go deeper.Sonic Origins will be a good place to start, if you wait till it's on sale maybe.
From what I can tell it looks like a way to make multiplayer Pikmin work better when playing with a single joycon each. I don't think it's a patent specifically for a Pikmin game, but it seems likely that it was conceived of when developing Pikmin 3 deluxe (that had multiplayer, right?)Some of the photos certainly match Pikmin, and the inventors are all Pikmin guys, I think it's Pikmin.
As I said in the Sonic Frontiers thread but that teaser trailer felt very familiar, right down to the music.
I think this is matter of when not if. They'll probably announce the trilogy remaster along with the new game. It's been in dev for some time now, should be close to getting revealed.I am politely requesting a quick and dirty trilogy port (or even duology of the last two games) of the TimeSplitters games to Switch.
Online would be a perk but I just want some good FPS games on Switch that are a known quantity.
Guess I have to go deeper.
I don't like platformers.

I want to be hopeful, but didn't TS4 only just get greenlit back in September 2021? No matter how quick and dirty a port (Even if developed side by side the new official project), I feel like it would need a little more than a year for a reveal+announcement. At best I'd only hope for a reveal in the Autumn Direct and release in Spring 2023 (but it still won't stop me from putting it on E3 bingo cards haha)I think this is matter of when not if. Unlike THQ games, Deep Silver titles get featured on Directs, so why not, sounds like perfect place for TS4 to debut. I expect it to be a smaller budget game, perfectly playable on Switch. It's not a series that someone like Embracer might pour millions on it.I want to be hopeful, but didn't TS4 only just get greenlit back in September 2021? wait what?nothing could have prepared me for Yu Suzuki’s new game
Will many of the jokes from 2005 in the campaign have aged poorly? Of that I have no doubt. Will the game mechanics still be as solid as ever? The precise reason why I want to play itA trilogy remaster for Timesplitters?
Edit: Yo just checked Sonic Frontiers. Did not expect anything but LOVE IT! Sonic: Breath of the Wild wasn't a game I expected I wanted!
That's a good point actually, didn't even realize that was the case. And yeah, the games are fun but going for a more cartoonish perspective means they don't really need a high budget for photorealistic graphics (in fact I hope they keep the weird human proportions). I really hope we do see news one way or another (if not, at least I have the second and third game to play on my as-yet-unpurchased Xbox Series X lol)Unlike THQ games, Deep Silver titles get featured on Directs, so why not, sounds like perfect place for TS4 to debut. Also worth mentioning: THQ Nordic got Second Sight license 2 years ago but still haven't done anything with it. Maybe Doak and his team were busy with remake/sequel to that? I'll take anything from them, Timespiltters, Second Sight remasters, even that forgotten game Haze...
Posted my thoughts in the other thread but, my god, this is the most "HIRE THAT MAN!!!" game ever judging from these. I'm sure there'll be more zones like it but, damn, it's blatant here lol. I'm optimistic, though!

For real, I feel Timesplitter, next to Halo and Half-life maybe, got the most solid single player mode ever for a shooter. Also, tha arcade mode is crack, C R A C K I tell ya! If the arcade mode has online leader boards and a 'challenge a friend' mode or something like that, I go crazy! Will many of the jokes from 2005 in the campaign have aged poorly? Except... Apple Arcade exclusive..?
UnYeah

That's because late 80s to early 2000's PC gaming was the pinnacle of all gaming, and everything else fails to compete. Thanks to you, just today I've reinstalled Civ IV and Heroes III.
This Nintendo thread is surely making me play a lot of PC games, I'm afraid there's a mole in there
