Wow Mario Party just chose fucking violence.

Mario landed on my space in the final turns which started a duel, bet all his coins (70 something), and we got one of those maze style games and he just beelined it to the goal taking all the right turns.

Actually felt like rigged bullshit.

One investor actually asking a sensible question about whether Nintendo will ship less product to Europe by rail currently. Huh.

So Sega says that between Origins, Frontier and SH2 they are gonna sell 13M? Dang so like 40/55/5 percent split

I wonder what their new titles for the bottom chart is.

Why did my dumbass originally think "Oh shit, Sonic Heroes 2 got announced???" before I saw the image and read Soul Hackers 2 lol 🥲

Sonic is x10 bigger than any Sega Japan/Atlus IP. 9M both Sonic games, 1M SH2 and 3M unannounced titles it’s what makes sense

My mind also went to Sonic Heroes 2 when I saw SH2

I don't think the world is ready for Sonic Heroes 2

I think the “etc” is accounting for the ten other titles in that “13 titles” bit.

I think there’s probably a yakuza game coming by end of fiscal 2023

On NSO + Expansion Pack:
This response made me wonder if the DLC offerings are going to continue to be centered around games that have an online component. I had said previously that adding the BotW Expansion Pack to the sun was a no-brainer. But I’m now wondering if that would actually get someone to up their sub if they’re largely uninterested in online play and the other perks since they can just buy the DLC out of the eShop anyways.

Fell back into the Diablo 3 rabbit hole for yet another Season, and at this point I just wished they hurried up with Diablo 4.

Right after they fixed their toxic workplace culture, ofc.

The next Dead or Alive game was canceled, eh? Would love for Nintendo to jump in and save the IP or something
Why would Nintendo care about DoA ? I’m not saying It’s a bad series I love 3d fighters just that’s not a series that gives anything that Nintendo would want in any case they would revive SC from Bamco that has more history in their platforms , but to be fair Koei Tecmo would probably accept Nintendo help while good luck getting Harada to accept it

look I’m begging Nintendo to let us controller map the Ring-Con

I don’t wanna buy a Titan 2 and script it myself, I just want to use it in every game

like it doesn’t even have to use the jogging I just want to map push and pull to buttons

I really hope we get a Yakuza game someday
OK I know this is gonna make me sound like an overly optimistic idiot

but I genuinely do believe we will get one eventually. It'll probably just be a port of Zero and Kiwami, but I do think we're gonna get that. Maybe it'll be one of those Pro exclusives or something.

Nintendo saved Bayonetta and it worked for them. Maybe they can save DoA lol It’d be a great way for them to get into 3D fighters and Alotta esports potential. There could be Nintendo costumes and stages or whatever. Lol it’s just something I would like to see.

I do wanna see another Bayonetta situation during Switch’s life where Nintendo saved a 3rd party IP that nobody cares for.

I feel like there's a big difference between Bayonetta and DoA, and frankly, I feel like Nintendo is in a wildly different spot than they were in when they paid for Bayonetta 2.

But I feel like, where Bayonetta is cartoonishly over the top and cool, and yes she DOES attack with her hair/clothes, she's kind of an empowering character. On the flipside, DoA has a history of... well... being pretty embarrassing? Like the games are mechanically pretty tight but... Let's just say that series has a reputation for having prominent breast physics. Not to mention, the DoA Paradise games are maybe not anything Nintendo wants remotely anything to do with haha.

When we needed Nagoshi the most, he disappeared...
Look I love the Yakuza series and I think Nagoshi has a history of working on some absolutely, fundamentally incredible video games, but dude was not perfect. I'm excited to see what his new studio gets up to, but I'm more excited to see where RGG goes from here now that they've got new (fully capable) leadership.

I think Nagoshi (like Harada) is one of the more capable leaders when it comes to creating quality games I don't think they will be able to replace him easily even if of course Yakuza is a lot more than just Nagoshi. My issues with Nagoshi are his business decisions when it comes to his games, especially platform decisions (and this is not only skipping Switch but also no day 1 PC/Xbox)

I feel like Nagoshi is a bit of a Steve Jobs-like character. He's a "visionary" type, but it's the directors and writers like Ryosuke Horii and Masayoshi Yokoyama that were the "true" heart and soul of the franchise/studio. Like I think getting one of Japan's biggest celebrities for Judgment was a Nagoshi choice, and that was awesome, but I also think that the people now in charge are fully capable of making awesome choices but of a different style, which I think will make for a more interesting future for the studio/Yakuza franchise.

* ahem *

See, that's a way in which Nintendo could actually make the series better, though. I've always loved DoA mechanically, I loved the goofy warring-ninja-tribes storyline, but I'm usually embarrassed to talk about it because anytime I bring up DoA I get sorta.. accused, of things. Now, I forget if it was during development of 5 or 6 (I wanna say 5) but the team was aware of the reputation the games had cultivated and actually revamped the character models to look more realistic (less doll-like), severely reduced the proportions of the female characters, and designed more modest costumes. They wanted the series to be taken more seriously, but when the first demo released a very vocal subset of fans revolted and demanded they bring back the outrageous proportions and corresponding physics and Team Ninja did so.

So if Nintendo were to "save" the series (I don't expect them to, just saying) I wouldn't be surprised if they have the team go back to that transition point they almost crossed, and actually redesign the characters into something less outrageous. And then Nintendo would have a hardcore fighting game series that isn't Smash and I think that could rock. 🤷‍♂️

Nintendo has ARMS also ;)

I hear you loud and clear but I still think it could work. I wish I was on my laptop because I would type out a long detailed response but lemme just say this for now…. Nintendo could actually even changed that whole identity of DoA while keeping it mature. That jiggle stuff was already an option in 6. You can toggle most of that stuff off if you want. And hey! That Paradise volleyball game is on Switch! Lol

I would like Nintendo to make a new DoA if only to see the internet discourse when the characters aren’t as revealing, or, even better, when they are covered up even more in the west.

They also could do DoA customization series for Switch Sports volleyball…

I don’t actually wish this but know it would happen.

had great lasagna for dinner last night

today my stomach is in knots

cant wait to have leftovers for dinner tonight
This is a good post.

Excuse me, toasted. That thing goes in a weird microwave thing, not an actual rolling oven like Quiznos or Firehouse
What about panini pressed, like at Port of Subs?

All that classic DOA content should be options and not the main advertising thing. There’s an audience for it so they can’t be fully ignored BUT that shouldn’t be the main appeal anymore

It's not important. The US is a niche market where console have been on decline and only phone games are popular.
You laugh but I swear I’ve heard or read something that basically boils down to “Japan is 10-20 years ahead of the US” when it comes to trends.

Not sure how true it is but I look at how cell phone and F2P gaming were huge in the early 00s in Japan and other Asian regions and then there was this explosive growth here in the 10s that seemingly caught a lot of people off guard.

Hasta lasagna, don't get any on ya!
Red light! Green light! Gum!
