the poster who feeds on negative feelings doesn't like people not liking something

Feeding on "blue" feelings made me like this :(

This achievement thing is so overblown. I always think its weird how this forum likes to dedicate so many comments to... not liking it lol.
imagine if a murder mystery novel had "find out that the butler did it" on the back lmao

If Live a Live is 100% Switch exclusive, I can't wait to hear the port beggars.

However, I kind of hope it will be available on all platforms since it's a great game(yes, I played some of the SNES version).
They'll port-beg for a short time before latching onto some small "flaw" that they'll blow out of proportion and declare that the game is bad. Then if it is eventually ported to another platform they'll change their tune and say how great it is now that the Switch isn't holding it back.

I mean, welcome to being a Nintendo fan my dude

I could say the same about threads that have popped up lately that are age-old discussions (nintendo should make a powerful console, nintendo output shifting to one console), but at the end of the day there are always new voices in the conversation and developments in the industry that are worth discussing. We're all rotting here in this thread together and gotta do something to pass the time after all.

Nice stealth port beg

Ever think about how the GameCube had so many games that would have been more successful on a more popular console but weren't good enough to make the GameCube more popular?
I remember playing Tales of Symphonia back when it was a GameCube exclusive and thinking to myself how it felt just like a PS2 game. Then it got ported to the PS2 with extras.

Just had a call with my manager to tell her I'm leaving the company. Hooo boy that was stressful.
I once had to do this and also tell my manager that the person I was managing was leaving as well, I felt quite bad for my manager at the end of that call! Neither of us leaving was her fault, but was the fault of the leaders of our unit.

Also, congrats on what sounds like a great new role!

When my day comes to do this, probably sometime this year, I dread the conversation with the person I manage more than anything :(

I remember a lot of gaming discussion at the time being about exactly this, whether a particular game felt more like a PS2, GC or XBOX game. I don't really blame people and to some degree I get it. But it's also a little funny in hindsight.

To be fair before PS4/Xbone generation (and 3ds/Vita in handheld case) I feel like every console had a general feeling when it comes to the games probably caused by hardware being so different before PS4/XBone , like you see a screenshot of a PS2/DS game and it comes to your mind this is a PS2/DS game, at least in my case it does even when the games are ported to modern consoles.

The day I’m able to put in my 2 week notice at work will probably be the one of the happiest days of my life.

I don’t necessarily hate my job, but I’ve been doing it for far too long. I needed a change like 5 years ago.

Can an Indieworld feature content that was previously announced at a general Direct? Stuff like Outer Wilds, Neon White, Fall Guys, Silksong. I can't remember if these are only about new announcements or not.

Wii U ports show the same happened to the Wii U.
GCN got a larger amount of exclusive high quality third party games than Wii U, which makes it even harder to understand why it did so poorly (even if the reason it's quite simple: PS2 momentum).

Oh, I know. I get why people have these associations, I do too. It's just funny to think of a game "belonging" to a console.

Why not

The no double dipping rule was broken a while ago

Makes sense since many of these indies miss their release windows by years

Alright. It’s time to admit it.

Fami,

The theme color scheme of Yellow and Purple for Splatoon 3 is waaaayyyy more appealing and eye catching then the ugly, super ugly, Pink and Green mix they had for Splatoon 2.
Pink and green all day, but those do happen to be two of my favorite colors. I think purple and yellow is nice though.

Question for yall. How is Bloodstained on Switch now. I know it launched it rough condition, has it gotten better enough? I know it's on sale, and am feeling a Metroidvania itch.

I liked the colour scheme on it's own but hated that it constantly reminded me of that garage "ethics in games journalism" harassment campaign that used the same colours for their logo.

with Emily Rogers and Nate not so subtly hinting at an indie word this month, what do you want to see?
I want to see Silksong, I'm expecting anything but Silksong

In general though it's hard for me to know what I'm hoping to see since so much of these presentations are about new titles.

All the indie games I wanted on Switch are already on Switch, so I hope there are a few brand new never seen before games that will surprise me. The dream being totally new indie games featuring Nintendo IP, but I've accepted that Cadence of Hyrule was more of a fluke.

I just got off the phone to my oncologist; my cancer scans all came back clear, which means I am now officially two years cancer free!

A huge shoutout to the amazing healthcare workers who've worked with me on this difficult journey.

This kind of cancer, if it does recur, tends to do so in the first two years, so now that I've reached this point, the odds are good that I have beaten it once and for all.
Holy fuck, this is amazing! Congrats, this is great to hear dude!

Quick question, fam: Should my chain chomp be sucking air at the bottom of the screen without any news clippings? Hahaha
Has been for me the last couple days too, but I think you have to clear your cache on the site to make it work again haha

Definitely. From a major corporation making business software to a startup that's building a platform to help people with disabilities succeed in the job market.

Edit: and not to mention a 40% pay raise
Eyy, that's amazing! Makin' money moves

*takes a long drag of a cigarette* ...yeah

i want murder by numbers 2. the game came out 3 years ago at this point, and it ended on a kinda sorta cliffhanger.

Yesterday night, I got into a little argument (nothing too heated) about how much I >like< the fact that Nintendo never implemented an achievement system on their consoles...

I said that, personally, the pressure of achievements and trophies not existing at all when playing games on Wii, Wii U, 3DS or Switch, is much appreciated for me..

Sometimes when I'm finished playing some game on PS4 or Steam, I tend to look up the trophy list and see that's sometimes missing a couple there (since most is unlock by normal progression anyway)... and think to myself "eh.. why not try to clean this up?", and that's always a trap.. those few ones left are the worst ones and usually very tiring tasks that you wouldn't do if it wasn't part of some checklist.. Just for the sake of the Platinum Trophy and having a little "I did it!" shiny thingy on your profile..

Yeah, it's all my fault, but I don't have nothing to worry about when playing games on Nintendo systems on that side.. I much prefer when games have their own achievements on in-game level, like Smash or Super Mario Odyssey, than devs having to fill a system level implementation just to have something there..

I look at stuff like old Genesis games having Achievements on Steam and be like.. "why this is even here.. they're just adding for the sake of having it.."; And there were cases of 3rd Party games that I could had played on PS4, that having them on Switch made my completionist journey much easier (like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.. I already made so much from the in-game requirements; having the Trophy list on top of that is just overkill).

Either way.. of course, the person talking to me didn't take that well; They said I shouldn't celebrate a lack of a feature that is "industry standard" or something. Yeah, I know people like these kind of things.. and I'm not saying Nintendo should never implement that, but I was sharing that I can't miss something that I never even demanded to exist at first place.. it's actually a comfort that I can't find on other platforms when I think about it lol.
I have two issues with achievements/trophies:

1. The nitpick: I hate how distracting it is when they come up. Especially since they are often at chapter ends, so I'll be watching this big emotional scene where something big and sad happens and then bing!! You Unlocked A Trophy!! and it's totally immersion-killing. It tribes me nuts.

2. The old man yelling at cloud: Back in the day, doing above-and-beyond tasks in games and finding secrets/alternatives would often result in unlockables. Special moves, add-ons, costumes, etc etc etc. And I loved going after that stuff. It began seeming to me around the X360 generation that suddenly a lot of those above-and-beyond tasks ended up resulting instead in.. an achievement. Which was.. basically nothing? And then all the cool extra unlockables began hiding not behind cool things to do in the gameplay, but paid DLC. And that started bugging me hard. Yes, industry standard blah blah whatever but back in my day hitting a piano key 100 times would get you a cool thing, and a jpeg of a trophy is not a WAIT FUCK.. DID ACHIEVEMENTS AND TROPHIES FORETELL THE COMING OF NFTS??? 😱😱😱😱

I don't mind achievements as long as you can turn them off and don't have to see them at all. Few things are as immersion breaking as getting an achievement pop up.

Nintendolife just posted that a new 2D Sonic game is in development by Sonic Team, I got super excited, clicked the article, and it began with "according to insider Zippo" and I got real sad and closed the tab.

Acording to Zippo boy, its like a spiritual sequel of Sonic Advance/Rush titles.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo Life rumour source about 2D DK by EPD was again Zippo.

btw, I partially belive on Zippo regarding Sega/Atlus news. Anything about Nintendo, ewww better not to talk about it.
