Picked up that Castlevania Advance collection in the sale. Love me some Aria.

How's XCOM 2 on Switch? That deal feels too good to pass up but I seem to recall the game having performance issues on other hardware?

OlliOlli is VERY good, reviewing it right now

I agree..hope it will get discounted in EU too

Btw: how is Jump Force on Switch? It's 9.99€ right now: I don't like its style, but how is performance and gameplay?
Yeah you are there! Glad to see you on this forum! Do you know if Neiteo is there too?

I tried some Edge of Eternity, impressive work since it was made by such a small team. The story also does things that a mainstream jrpg would mostly avoid, so I like it. Not sure if I'll keep playing, but it's a good indie title.

I'm bored, it's "February fest" so do I get Mario & Rabbids £7.49, Sonic Mania £7.99 or Quake £3.99

I've completed Quake back in the day.

Edit, hold on there's even more in the sales bit.... Bomberman is under a fiver

Is the gold edition of M&R on sale? Or encore edition of sonic mania? You might want those extras, especially the DK campaign in rabbids. That’s a great game if you like SRPGs. Really all are good options. Bomberman would be good if you had some local co op. Doubt the online is that active anymore especially since they launched the free to play version.

Okay I need an Adult :ROFLMAO:

The encore dlc for Sonic is an extra £2, that's simple to figure out.

The rabbids stuff is where i'm lost.

game is £7.49 as said but then there are

M&R kingdom battle season pass at £7.99

M&R kingdom battle Donkey Kong adventure at £5.99

M&R kingdom battle Pixel pack at £1.24

M&R kingdom battle Ultra Challenge pack at £2.90

The gold edition is not on sale £49.99

So.... is that all the gold stuff split up into small payments or is it missing stuff?

Most of the DLC is just hard mode and Co op stuff. The DK DLC is a multilevel campaign. That DK part is probably the only essential download stuff in my opinion (that’s all I have).

Okay, I added a tenner and got the 2 sonic bits but I'll keep that in mind for when I probably get it after I'm done with this.

Rabbids is on sale quite often and the DLC has been more frequent too. Will have lots of chances to get it at a low price especially with the sequel on the horizon.

good to know. Sonic is pretty cool so far. 3's shields in 1 and 2's levels was trippy. Got the emerald in chem must have missed one before that. not sure how what the medals do. Got silver due to not getting all the rings in 1 but then they seem to constantly change so I don't know if you get to learn them to stop that happening or what :(

I was engrossed playing mean bean but it was over so quickly... puyo puyo tetris is on sale lol

Just stumbled on Ziggurat 2 and it looks pretty neat. It looks like if Hexen was done in WoW's artstyle. It seems to have high praise on Steam. Anyone have any experience with the Switch version? And does it have gyro?

Any thoughts on Later Alligator or Mail Mole? They're both on sale.

Infernax is so good. Heading into what I think is the last dungeon now. It’s got a lot of good ideas- you make lots of choices throughout and their consequences carry forwards, you can often see the results in the background as you move around. It’s not so big that you can get lost, but exploration is rewarding too. It reminds of of other very tight Metroidvania titles too, stuff like Timespinner and Aggelos, both of which I also really enjoyed.

Forgot about my gold coins so I got a load of money off dead cells and its dlc, and then still was able to pick up Quake for £2.20, purely for the nostalgia of seeing an Ogre fire a grenade at me after so many years.

Wow that looks great! How do you compare it to Webbed or Flinthook for instance?
it sort of reminds me of mutant mudds in terms of just going level to level and they get a little harder as each level passes. It is also good with accessibility features. infinite health and jumps if you want.

Later Alligator is very charming and fun, and the dialogue is pretty funny too. It's more or less a goofy minigame collection with a lot of dialogue from the various alligators. It's fairly short (I think it took me about 3 hours to get the various endings, I think there are 3 total), but I enjoyed it a lot.

Interesting, thanks - I had the misimpression that it was a PnC kinda game. Glad to hear it's very enjoyable!

It is to the extent that you have different locations (I want to say like 5-6?) to travel between and you can click on the alligators lol. There's a family tree you try to fill out, and when you talk to the alligators there is usually some kind of minigame to complete. Some are very simple, while others are more complicated (the first one you run into plays three card Monte with you, while another is a sliding puzzle, while another has you protect an alligator from flies, etc). There are also these puzzle pieces you can find that don't really do anything of note story-wise.

Since it's on sale - how is KOTOR on Switch and does it hold up in general if you've never played it?

Gotta admit, as a fan of the anime I’m curious about Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Familia Myth Infinite Combate On that strong a sale. Anyone played it?

The XCOM 2 deal is now also available on the NA shop. Lowest ever at $5.00!
It's not? XCOM 2 just had a sale and it was $10, I believe.
Wow this thread is dead… how come? Anyway, is Commandos 2 HD still a shitshow? It’s 40%off. What about Tropico 6?
Commandos is still a shitshow but it's playable. It's a great tactical strategy game at the core. Button controls are very awkward though.

Tropico is pretty low res and but it's still playable, just like every other Kalypso tycoon game. And it's super detailed and deep, I've already wasted over 20 hours on it.

You are right, I got a Deku Deals notification and assumed it was the eShop, but it's actually the digital code on amazon.

Also, when you redeem the digital code you will get the full amount (5%/$2.50) of gold coins, which end up giving you half of what you spent back!

The EU sale tempted me to go for Phoenotopia: Awakening and I'm really enjoying it. It's a fun Zelda II inspired game with an engaging story, well animated pixel art and lovely music with a Chrono Trigger-ish feel. I like the stamina based combat and platforming. So far so good and I'm glad I went for it.

Inside is only $1.99 right now, so I used some gold coins and got it. It'll be nice to have a shorter game to tackle over the weekend.

Hey peeps :)
I’m leaving town for 3 days and want to grab a couple new Switch games.

Has anyone played the new RPG Rise of the Third Power? I loved the dev’s previous game Ara Fell, and I’m just wondering if it plays smoothly?

Some 2D retro RPGs tend to be choppy when moving around or have weird frame drops (on stuff other than Switch too - I think it’s whatever engine is used to make these).

Anyways I’d live impressions of that and anything else recent as I haven’t bought much on Eshop since around Thanksgiving . I love RPGs, adventure, Metroidvania, roguelite stuff like that.

I'm also eyeing up:

Chicory (I adored Wandersong)
The Wild at Heart
Unpacking
Everhood

Hey I played Wild at Heart (on Xbox) and it is REALLY GOOD!! The music, the hand drawn looking graphics, controlling your little army Pikmin style, it’s just a fun game and I highly recommend it if you like Pikmin and/or adventure games with light RPG elements.

Chicory is also great. I do think how much you intend to “paint the world” may affect your enjoyment. You can do as much or little as you want with that as you play since the whole world is black and white by default. But the story is emotional and great, the art style rocks, characters are super charming, lots of neat puzzles using the paint/brush mechanic. All around wonderful experience.

Splurged on various things before it ended. Mario and Rabbids seems huge, I played for a couple of hours and only did the first boss. Then tried a "very easy" challenge that wasn't easy at all. I will have to rise my damage before trying it again.

You've tipped me over the edge! I'll go for Wild at Heart. Plus my 7 year old son loves Pikmin so hopefully he'll enjoy it too 👍. Thanks for your thoughts, I appreciate it 😊

Chicory is great. I think if you liked Wandersong, you'd like it as well. I think they're tonally very similar.
I loved Wandersong, with its heartfelt story and tender dialogue! 😊. I'll definitely give Chicory a go, thanks! 👍

Grapple Dog is very good. Basically is a really good (and tough) yoshi game with DKC and sonic elements. Just wanted to put in that recommendation.

No I know the games and have beaten Commandos 1 and 2 back in the day a dozen times but I was specifically asking about the switch port which was awful at launch. When you say shitshow you mean? How bad lol? Also, how are the touchscreen controls (what about T6), can you use a mix of buttons and touchscreen (if supported)? Can’t imagine walking constantly touching the screen because pathfinding/waypoint has never worked well for Commandos imo (you need to react and it’s fine with a mouse but awkward as hell tapping the screen) can you direct control the commandos using the stick?
