I am not one of the 13 people who owned a WiiU, so I hope they will overcome the difficulties in porting X.
I am one of the Enlightened Thirteen and I still hope they'll port X just for the benefit of those who could not see the brilliant glory of the WiiU.

OMG LOOK, SEE?? This artwork is a perfect example of why I don't like "Chronicles" being tacked on. Look what the western version did:

THEY COVERED THE ZOHAR. Irrefutable proof that the "Chronicles" is not only superfluous but actively gets in the way.

A Xenoblade Warriros would probably be a classic Musou with bigger and more open areas? But man, they could go CRAZY with rhe storyline lol
That doesn't sound very appealing to me. I'd rather they go for Mario or Pokemon, actually Pokemon Musou might interest me. I'd love to burn down thousands of soldiers/Pokemon with a Charizard.

YES. Finally someone else who doesn't like or understand the addition of "Chronicles" to the title. "Xenoblade" just sounds so much cleaner without it.
That's me too.

Takahashi completely ignoring XCX actually only makes me think that it's even more likely that 3 will tie in to X. It'll be that much more surprising if attention isn't drawn to it, after all. Much like how he assured people that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was completely separate from the first Xenoblade Chronicles—yet that turned out to be a big lie. =P Also, with him saying that the concept for XC3's key art (and likely the core concepts of the game's story alongside it, I'd imagine) was decided sometime between when the development of the first Xenoblade Chronicles ended and the beginning of XC2's development...well, what else was he working on during that time? Xenoblade Chronicles X, of course. Hard to imagine that he'd have all these concepts thought up this far in advance and then just not factor XCX into anything at all. I feel like XCX has to be part of the bigger plan here in some way, and the mashed-up world we see in XC3 could end up explaining some of the more suspicious features of Mira's geography that seemed to hint at a connection to the first Xenoblade (like ruined geographical features that looks eerily similar to that of the Bionis and Mechonis, for example).
I'd hate that so damn much

Everyone is asking for Xenoblade Warriors. I'm here waiting for Lego Xenoblade. They could call it Xenoblade Bionicles.

I think a Xenoblade Musuou COULD be fun, but only if they go absolutely wild with the fanservice in terms of characters featured. If I can't mow down enemies as some of the iconic antagonists alongside protagonists what's the point? (I am of course sorta joking :p I just think we would need all the series highlights to really make a musou for Xenoblade worth it to me).

Thinking about "fighting in order to live, and living to fight" in the context of "what good is filling up these flickering clocks in our eyes, it will never replace the friends we lost." My shot in the dark guess is that the opening premise has the clocks as some type of thing where the characters need to rack up kill counts in order to keep themselves alive. Maybe a little morbid, but it fulfills the opening line of the trailer in a literal way, and explains why everyone's mad about their clocks and wants to destroy the big one.

Would be nice if Nintendo put actual closed captions on the YouTube upload instead of the autogenerated ones because I probably misheard/misread the second quote, but I suppose not understanding anything through the accents is part of the mystique.

Xenoblade Warriors would definitely be cool, especially after XC3 is released because of the expanded roster (Which wouldn't matter that much to me because I'm planning to forever use the husband/wife team of Morag and Brighid).

Still, I will always maintain that the dream crossover game is Tokyo Mirage Sessions #XC.

Difficulties being money.
Probably more a case of them not wanting to do it right now. They had a clear focus on bringing XBC1 to the Switch before making XBC3 so they can have all numbered games on one platform, and with 3 tying 1 and 2 together, it makes sense from a business perspective.

I am sure they will return to X if or when they decide to make a sequel for it.

That sounds good on paper, until you realise that the soldiers would be Bulbasaurs.
I'm actually okay with that... :p

Nah, they could make them Kleavor (since he's so popular in Arceus) and Rillaboom.

I want this SO much more than a Musou. Xenoblade characters are meant to be Mirages.

No, you got it right. The non-Japanese/English trailers do have subtitles and that is what she's saying.

Calling the police rn, smh.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I recall having read him saying it would be difficult to port, but I forgot it boiled down to being expensive to do.

Based on the clothes, I'm pretty sure this scene here is a flashback, showing Noah giving one of the female characters a flute. Both Mio and Eunie have cat ears, but Mio's hair is white as opposed to brown, while Eunie has black High Entish wings. It's probably Mio, since it's suggested that Noah and Mio share some history, and the hair thing could just be lighting, or it changed color for a reason. Would suggest that Noah was involved in Mio becoming an Off-Seer and gifted her a flute.

Speaking of flutes:

At some point Noah changes from the black flute to the white flute, and Mio ends up with the black flute. Could be related to the scene where he gives her a flute, but I'm guessing the different flutes have different purposes/significance.

They are the colors of their respective countries, they presumably exchange flutes in that scene.

Looks like XC1-style collectibles are back as purple lights this time. I'm not sure why they'd go with this again after XC2 did collectibles in a much better way, it kind of ruins the picturesque landscapes and it's much dumber mechanically.

But on the plus side it probably means no more field skills. Also after DE I doubt they'll make it hard to find what you're looking for.

I've seen several people point this out but I'm not sure there's enough indication that it's definitely that way. For all we know they still function like 2 but are simply given more obvious visibility on the map. Or it could be a straight up different system. They put collectibles on sale in challenge mode in DE precisely because they were aware of the complaints about them after all.

I'm guessing the flutes are able to control the flow of ether?
That would actually line up with my idea of his red sword being a red herring if the flute turns out to be the Monado this time around. 😅

There's no reason those purple orbs couldn't represent XC2-esque collection points.

I was really hoping they'd drop chronicles with 3, "xenoblade" is a recognizable brand now so hopefully the chronicles goes away after this

I posted this on the general thread, but it might be better here.

So now that we know XC3 is releasing this year and that the Switch will probably last at least two more years (until the last DLC for MK8 launches), things are looking much better for a possible XCX port, right?

I mean, Monolith is most likely moving on to the next hardware after XC3 is completed, which should leave them some room to have a team working on porting X to the Switch. And that might even mean that their first Switch 2 game could be XCX2? That sounds like a plausible timeline, they would probably leave the XC line alone for a while to avoid fatigue.

I just really want to play XCX and I don't want to do it on my Wii U.

I'll be honest, Xenoblade is one of those videogame titles I am embarrassed to say out loud. Like I can't imagine walking into a best buy, going to the checkout, and saying that I'm here to pick up Xenoblade Chronicles 3. lol. I feel the same way about games like Bravely Default or Octopath Traveler.

Thankfully, you just show them the order email and they get it for you.

That possibility might depend on when exactly Monolith moves on from Xenoblade 3. There's a chance it could get DLC support deep into next year like Xenoblade 2 did.

Alien Covenant was a recent film I watched with the used of Flutes.

Dialogue wasn’t good. Unintentionally funny tho.

I think Mio might be Nia's "sister" or the girl she ate to become a flesh eater somehow.

OK, sounds a little insecure tbh.

That would be crazy if so! One theory I saw that I really like was...
Mio was a Blade she awakened that took after her, ala Haze and Lora, that she forced to eat Flesh for some reason or another. Making her have parallels with her "father" even if done for a different reason than he had her do it.

The floating orbs around the flutes are shaped like data cubes. Like they're core crystals or something.

But anyone new to the series would be so lost. That was a very specific part of 2.

Doubt they'll return here that much either, I'm going to stick with ether.

Yeah sorry I meant to say they're shaped like core crystals almost, not that core crystals will return. Very likely to be ether.
Make sense, they're definitely spherical. I'm excited to see what the combat looks like here, which will hopefully be at E3.

someone on the other board said that the "expensive" comment was mistranslated. porting the game isn't expensive, some just has to pay for it

Now people complaining about the title having Chronicles…always have to complain about something.
It’s been a complain since the initial Wii version honestly lol.

Just louder now with more fans. But people didn’t like the Chronicles part either since it’s not in the Japan version

Honestly I’d take a straight port with some up-res and font increase. Game is still beautiful

I've been complaining about it since I got into the series. The Chronicles addition adds nothing and there's no reason why it should be there given that it isn't in the japanese titles.

Xenosaga was originally going to be 6 games. At this point I won't be surprised if Xenoblade X is actually Xenoblade 10.

Jesus this just blew my mind haha. That's the only way I could imagine it fitting in with XC 1, 2 and 3 - it's actually a distant future of the rebuilt earth from 2. Like, far, far more distant than the future depicted in 3.

Imagine if Takahashi snuck in the 10th entry already and we didn't even realize it.
I’m imagining 2 decades in the future. We’re on Xenoblade 8 and 9. X still hasn’t been ported and is forgotten at this point. Suddenly after 9 they randomly announce X remaster. And we’re all like “what?!” followed by “OH.”

That's exactly what I was thinking. Except Xenoblade 9 comes out and it literally just ends with the beginning of X. That would be insane.
