Fiscal results would've been real handy today because work is crazy quiet. Saying that, I can't see myself being too much busier tomorrow.

I would put $5 on PLA crossing 20 million by end of the year
Ehhh end of year is ambitious. It should be well over 6M by the end of its launch weekend and legs will be good but another 14M is a tall ask, even with a holiday season.

It'll definitely reach 20M lifetime though.

Pokemon is going to get a solid second wave bump. It's going to have the initial wave of "the usual people who buy a Pokemon game" and then once those couple million buy it and then tell people "this is the pokemon game you've wanted since you were 8" then it's going to then go on to move several more millions. I think 20 is absolutely doable.

Love going onto Youtube, seeing Nintendo recommendations and a video saying that Nintendo bought Capcom......

Garbage clickbait.
Huh. I just saw another gaming channel state that Sony was about to buy Capcom.

Holy crap yeah this is the ultimate Pokemon game.

For starters, I enter a cave and am not immediately assailed by Zubats, that was a relief. Then after exploring the cave I find a rock blocking an exit and decide to try throwing a Pokemon at it to see what they can do, and voila! They break the rock. I guess Bibarel likes to gnaw on more than just wood.

Anyway I love the exploration in this, I didn't think there'd be that much incentive to explore but the different types of materials and Pokemon you find in different areas, along with random moments like in the cave I stumbled upon, that just oozes adventure and exploration.

I'm hooked.

It almost feels MMO like with it's giant expansive areas to endlessly explore and proclivity to hook players.

I can already tell I will put hundreds of hours into the game

Yep.

Also I love that you can randomly find yourself extremely overmatched in like a 5 on 1 battle.

Book of Boba Fett, also known as Mandalorian season 3.
Exactly what I thought while watching the new episode this morning. I’ve enjoyed the show throughout, but it seems like it’s required viewing for Mando, so might as well just be the same show. I guess I do like they are intertwined, though.

Unfortunately, despite my PC running God of War on high settings at a stable 60 fps with no issues, the port overheats my PC and causes a shutdown every 20-30 minutes. Even when adjusting to original settings from the 2018 PS4 version, it still overheats and crashes, which is nuts because I play Halo Infinite at 1440p 120fps for hours on end, no problem, and generally have a good rig - RTX 2060 with an AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS. The steam page recommends a 1060 for GoW, lol.

As a result, had to refund the game, which really sucks as I've been looking forward to playing it for years. At least I can dive into Pokemon Legends once that finally arrives. Looking like Pokemon Legends, To the Moon, and something different like Black Mesa/Hitman Trilogy for February.

Damn, sorry about that with god of war. Maybe you can try it again if you decide to get the steam deck in the future

That's not a bad idea. I think before I get the Steam Deck, I would probably just get a 3060/3070 for my PC. Weirdly, sometimes I like stationary PC gaming more than portable for those kinds of games. Switch is always with me in my cozy bed though lol

All I mainly is a decent laptop that’s for some older games and mods for them. The steam deck is something I am very much interested in but want to wait and see how some games work on it. God of war is one of those games

It's stories like this that make me never want to get into PC gaming at all hahaha

He’s a garbage clickbait Youtuber. You don’t expect any better. Garbage thumbnails. Garbage titles. Garbage garbage

Who is this guy? Maybe it's a channel I already put on "Don't recommend"?

Or is it Blue Shell? There's another video of his saying Nintendo passed year has leaked again, this time with a mockup of boxart for a putative Super Smash Kart.

Also, anyone else notice that Mythra is sponsored by Xbox?

It's the other way around. Xenogears predates the Xbox. What do you think the X in Xbox stands for?

Those Dying Light 2 reviews... I for one am shocked that the endlessly delayed, gleefully advertised as bloated (500h) game is a technical mess!

EDIT: add a word

From what I read, It's more of the same and that's fine with me. The first one was excellent, I loved the third world environments.

The whole 500 hour thing is not the way to go on home consoles, but on Switch slow burner games feel right at home thanks to portability. Hopefully that native port leak is true.

The reviews seem alright but there is a big range between them. Seems like the common consensus is that the gameplay can be fun but the progression system is far too slow so it takes a while for things to really get going.

Dying Light 2 reviews seem pretty good, same MC as Mario Tennis Aces which was universally beloved.

I should have been more clear, technical mess – all things they can + will clean up with patches

Pretty shitty of Japan to put their country in a different time zone.
How DARE anything exist outside of the Eastern Time Zone

I lived most of my life outside the Eastern Time Zone and now that I DO live in it, I want everything to be tailored to me and my time zone

Come on, there is definitely two sides to this story. Both companies were pretty big companies and further more Nintendo screwed Sony way more getting in bed with Philips after they themselves got into a deal with Sony that they deemed unfavourable to them (which it of course was). But instead mending the relation with Sony and balancing the deal out they just went with their biggest competitor.
I'm just tired of people acting like Nintendo "screwed over" Sony for no reason. Sony wasn't completely blameless.

Pokemon can break/get items from almost anything in the game: Trees, cracked walls/boulders, piles of leaves, snow, grass piles, etc.

I think the only things that are restricted by progression are movement-based
