At least it tastes good......
You’ll get the hang of it, you just have to keep trying!

With baking especially, you want to make sure your ingredients are very carefully measured — a kitchen scale can really help with this!

tasting good is a good step! you can do it!

Nah... That's foul, in my country you have to be barefooted, it makes the cooking progress more comfortable.
Barefooted???? I thought you were talking about slippers or something! Cooking while barefooted sounds unsafe. Not to knock on your culture, though.

Non taken, it's always interesting seeing and hearing how different countries and culture work, like something that's normal for you is something that is weird for me, it what makes life interesting. Just like @Suswave mention, just do what makes you comfortable, like wearing shoes in the kitchen.

I can't even imagine not immediately taking off your shoes when you come home. This is a whole world I have never known...
I know some homes where you gotta take off your shoes and I know it's the norm in some countries, but most of the homes I've visited will just let me keep my shoes on. Guess it's an American thing, lol.

The cake is edible; I almost have half a mind to take it to work tomorrow morning...... almost.........

Yeah I nearly always have shoes on at home, or at least slippers. I think that is an American thing.

I was actually taught growing up that it’s rude to not wear shoes when you have guests over, for example.

I think my problem this was that I put all of the batter into the pan instead of maybe half of it. The cake was also stuck on a nonstick pan, even though the first attempt came off smoothly. If/when I do the third attempt, I'll keep that in mind.

I'm American, it's common to keep your shoes on when visiting someone else's house. I was just baffled by the idea of having them on in your house! Do people actually find it comfortable? My mom throws a fit about tracking dirt in so even if I would've liked to I couldn't wear shoes in the house, but ever since I was a baby I hated wearing shoes.

what was the suggestion in the recipe? if it was for a similar volume of bundt pan, you probably did the right thing

but again, if the recipe wasn’t specific — you can always find a more reliable one!

I'm Asian-American, you all better take off your dirty ass shoes in the house.
yeah I know I just said “do what makes you comfortable” and I think that applies but if people come in and leave their shoes on it does bug the shit out of me

like I’ll sweep regardless, I won’t make a whole thing of it, but I very much prefer you don’t track shit through our apartment

we also live in the city and have a tiny apartment so that might contribute

also not that we’ve had people over once 2020 hit, a mere like three times since

RIP

Oh, I always wipe my shoes when I come home, I usually take them off after I get to my room and put slippers on. I was out and about today, so I just kept them on.

The recipe didn't mention anything about the volume of the pan, just that I needed a bundt pan. I've checked other recipes, but they offer different ingredients. I think I'll stick with the current recipe, but I'll be more conservative with the ingredients.

I’m an absolute freak who needs airflow to my feet at all times because I hate the feeling of them getting sweaty and have a history of them cracking

but estrogen and age are really teaming up to push me into the cold feet club, so… I’m a slippers kitsch now

nooooooooo don’t do it! baking is all chemistry, it’s gotta be balanced and right!

I don’t exactly have a repository of good baking sites, most of my shit comes second-hand, but there are some cake troubleshooting tips here

This is actually really helpful! I could tell that the cake and pan were still, even after 15 minutes of cooling off. I'll definitely keep this in mind next time, thanks!

does nomura have so much creative control that people can’t stop him from making things “nomurian”, like surely the dude doesn’t make all these choices on his own and it’s a group decision

I think it's become apparent over the years that that's actually not the case, at least with Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy games that he's worked on. Hell, FFXV should be a major indication of how much sway he has on certain projects, especially since that entire universe (I forget the name, but it's supposed to encompass all of XIII, including what ultimately became XV) was his baby.

Speaking of games, I've been feeling less motivated to continue FFVII for now, even though I'm not even halfway done with it. I plugged up my PS3 on a whim after playing my PS2 all last week. Tales of Xillia is calling me........ Gah, my bad habit is taking over again, FUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!

Likewise. Maybe it’s a dad thing for a certain age/part of the country? He’s where I got it from.
This was one of my earliest signs of rebellion. I refused to wear my shoes in the house! Still kind of do, though with how much coming and going I do with the kids and the dog sometimes I forget.

Sigh, hm trying to decide if going base or digital deluxe on megaton Musashi wired. Any word on when reviews are?

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Now when I go to my eshop wishlist on browser it doesn't load any prices, and every single game shows as "Not Available" when I click on it.

What in the absolute hell is falling apart over there? :ROFLMAO:

What happened to stability?

Why even do planned maintenance?

I don't feel very stable, Nintendo!!!

God, I'm almost tempted to just throw it away and cut my losses.....
Don't give up! Cooking is all about experimentation and learning from mistakes. And hey, as long as the final result is edible, then it's never a waste!
