Fun Club Whatcha Playin’ This Weekend, Fam? |3/29-3/31|

What is this Crystal Legacy you speak of?
It's a romhack of Pokemon Crystal which aims to make the best possible version of the game while still preserving as much as possible to still make it an authentic gen 2 experience. This means small quality of life improvements, reworking of Pokemon stats and distribution, updating Gym Leaders so they can actually put up a fight, etc.

Started Princess Peach Showtime! last weekend and will be continuing to play that game. Definitely a solid, fun little game from Good Feel. I don't know if it's just me, but I've noticed some weird low frame dips during specific moments like walking around the hub areas and during loading screens. The main gameplay hasn't been affected, so it's not a huge deal.

Also still plugging away at Persona 3 Reload. This last week ended up being pretty busy for me so I didn't get much time to play, but I'm getting pretty close to the end (I think).

Have a great weekend everybody! And Happy Easter if you celebrate.

After 45 hours alternating with my better half over the past month or so, I had a successful run in Shovel Knight Dig for the first time. やった!Now cheering them on to beat the game and working on the harder alternate/true ending route. 😃

Enjoying the world and characters in Trails from Zero quite a bit, but I feel like I’m sort of getting my ass kicked on the normal difficulty. 😂 I play quite a few games like this! Feels like there’s something I’m missing @xghost777

Well done!

I definitely cheesed my way to a clear pretty quickly by using a ticket to go straight to the final area. After getting that first clear, I did a “legit” run from the start and cleared that one. That was enough for me.

I’m glad you’re getting so much out of the game!

Thank you! I went back and read the posts by you and @ermitron2 in the review/impressions thread after beating the game. It was heartening to see we weren't the only ones who find it to be a tough game. Got closer to the true ending today (made it nearly 4/6 through) and looking forward to clearing that and checking out the DLC. It's funny, I said in that thread 1.5 years ago that I was sure this being our first roguelite platformer we'd struggle and we definitely have, but we have really enjoyed it. I don't think I could play roguelites all the time, but I have loved playing Dicey Dungeons and this game.

Welp. I tried playing Sonic Superstars and I was met with my three year old repeatedly saying "my no like Sonic" and he kept telling me to turn it off.

Not sure if I should be upset, or proud.

Ended up playing more Pokémon Black 2 than Jet Force Gemini. I had forgotten how chill playing a Pokémon game is, especially at the beginning.

Wound up with a lot less game time than I thought, so I mostly just got some Balatro runs in. They were pretty good runs, though!

My weekend report - I knew it’d be an interesting weekend walking in and uh yeah it was kind of all over the place haha. I ended up playing four games I want to talk about here (Smash, Splatoon, and Mario Kart also happened). Unfortunately Granblue Fantasy Relink slipped past me, but I’ll be back on it in a day or two I’m sure.

Love Live School Idol Festival 2 - so there’s a multiplayer event going on now and I’m guessing it’ll be the first and last with only two months left. Couldn’t find a working room for a while and when I finally did it glitched out so that was a bust. Still having a great time with the main game. My big goal is to beat every song on at least Expert and I’m nearly done with all of the songs for μ's in particular as I’ve been bouncing between groups so going to try to wrap that up this week.

Unicorn Overlord - I was able to get my new Switch battery replaced after some grief (the old battery was fused in there and then I didn’t reattach the microsd slot correctly). The first game I played was Unicorn Overlord which I had planned to play before the battery drama happened. Only played the first two battles so far. I’m intrigued, but not hooked yet. The graphics are amazing of course. Eager to give it another shot soon though. I imagine come next weekend I’ll be down to just this, Granblue, and Love Live.

Pepper Grinder - I think this is my favorite of the games I played this weekend. Just feels so good to play and the first two worlds have a great deal of variety between the levels. I plan to focus on this game next, but first…

Penny’s Big Breakaway - I started this weekend uncertain if I wanted to stick with it for now, then it switched to I definitely want to beat it soon, and now I want to get 100% completion and get the Platinum trophy. The art style and character design is kind of garish in a way I don’t vibe with, but the actual game now that I have a handle on it is super fun and it feels very unique. I’m not 100% sold the way I am with Pepper Grinder then, but since I’m so close to the end (world 9 with everything prior 100% complete now) I’m thinking I’ll probably finish it tomorrow.

Still working on Persona 5 Royal. I just went through the fourth big palace. Got a good 45 hours in this game and I'm maybe half way-ish?

I didn’t play much of Rebirth - finished chapter three, and started chapter four. Got the chocobo outside Junon, and that was about it. I’ll get more time in this week. If I’m being honest, after fully completing the grasslands, when I got out of the mythril mines and saw a whole new batch of open world activities, I wasn’t exactly thrilled to do all that stuff again. I’m sure I’ll get over it, I did enjoy doing the grasslands after all.

I finished the first “level” of Chants of Sennaar. Fully translated the devotees language and made my way up to the second level of the tower. I really like the whole vibe this game has going.

My main game this weekend surprisingly turned out to be Pokemon Crystal Legacy. I dropped it a few months ago with seven badges. Picked it up this weekend out of the blue and got the eighth badge, then did a bit of grinding and cleared the E4. I’m excited to push on through to Kanto now.
