that's how a lot of paterons work. they upload unlisted videos to youtube and give the links to subscribers.I know they said their videos are going to be coming out exclusively on patreon first, but I admit when I clicked on this and saw "1 day ago" as well as only 336 views I was ... a little concerned, lol. Guess they're just uploading Youtube videos and setting them on private? For some reason I thought patreon had a video service that they'd be making use of instead.
Glad to know they'll still be successful for the time being!
Same, although I don't recall ever watching Nintendo Minute. They really knocked it out of the park on the episode's production quality (or at least the audio version) and they have a really good rapport with each other and just a lot of infectious enthusiasm. The episodes are a little bit longer than I prefer for shows, but I definitely think I'll stick with them for a bit.Listened to the first episode yesterday and really liked it. Only watched a handful of Nintendo Minute clips throughout the years but these two are super cute together and seem like very good friends. Looking forward to additional episodes.
Send those questions to their Patreon.Count me among those that didn't give a poot about Nintendo Minute, but out of the Nintendo corporate bubble they are very fun to listen to given their long rapport. I chuckled a few times at least at their good-natured digs.
Latest episode shared some stories behind the Switch launch. But what really perked my antennas was their offhand mention of "as soon as we got the Switch, we knew it would be a hit ... unlike the WiiU where we were like uhhhh".
I want that story, about how NOA's marketing team perceived the WiiU and subsequently struggled (and failed) to sell it.
Also stories about 3DS rollout, The Price Cut, landing a mainline Monster Hunter again, figuring out how to market major third-party Japanese titles that were under publishing agreements. And, in a somber moment, what it was like when news of Iwata's passing came down on the local branches.
Just so much that these two can uniquely cover that probably no other show can.
Episode 5 dropped today -- focus is on Animal Crossing New Horizons launch
good ideaI think we should shorten the title of this thread to The Kit & Krysta Podcast ST.
In fact, I feel we more than often overreact on many of those situations, but other times, I guess we're just not informed enough to actually know what's up behind the scenes... say, Nintendo sending a C&D to AM2R, while they had Samus Returns in the pipeline.
Obviously you can't judge the immediate reaction from fans of Nintendo's actions when comes to stuff like this; Raw emotions and all that, and we don't need to necessarily agree just because there is a reasonable business angle coming from those.. But at very least, I learned to not be surprised nor get stressed when these kind of stuff happensGenerally it's a good idea to assume that anything Nintendo does has some business reasoning behind, and it isn't just because they felt like being evil that day.
It very likely won't make it any better, but at least will make it have sense.

Like, lots of people created this boogeman image of Nintendo that they hate fan-creations and such, but in fact Kit & Krysta themselves even brought someone that makes custom amiibos on Nintendo Minute once!
You'd think this is exactly the kind of thing Nintendo would hate and shut down immediately, especially because they sell their work.. but no, they actually promoted.
Which is true, and the soundtracks from Nintendo are available…. But in Japan. So yeah, the import costs are nuts. The problem is that there is a huge desire for easy access to Nintendo soundtracks and other companies, even from Japan, are doing a better job these days, like Capcom and Square Enix with their presence at Apple Music and Spotify.
That's true but for most Nintendo games they already own the rights to all the music because it's all done inhouse. And regarding music, yeah it’s sucks, but Kit is right, music rights are a nightmare, especially in Japan where many music compositions are shared between multiple parties, including the artists.
Few days late to the anniversary, but I'll always watch more Kid Icarus: Uprising retrospectives!
... wait, what? It really is about Uprising and not Smash Bros Ultimate? I was only making a joke. Awesome taste, these two.
