TV someone just recovered and scanned over TWO THOUSAND animation cels from the classic "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog" series

(direct link to the album) there's also a first part which makes the total over three and a half thousand.

the uploader has been collecting cels for quite some time now, including other notable video game series such as the various mario shows.

a good chunk of it is basic scratch stuff, like these pink clouds.

It's ironic that Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog is generally acknowledged as the better series in the present day compared to Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) with how much its content is remixed and its qualities praised (not to mention how strong of a character its iteration of Robotnik is compared to the one called Julian). I also think that AoStH is the better series, so it might be unpopular amidst the common praise attributed to SatAM.

is it considered "better"? i think its completely different, and probably fits in line with many 2023 web animation sensibilities, is a bit more "meme-y"/Looney Tunes meets Nickelodeon in style so i can see why it has undergone a bit of a reevaluation in current times - I dunno about better though, but I can see why some would like one or the other more
 
Oh I love these, I would love to have a really dumb Robotnik one sometime.

I don't exactly collect animation cels/drawings (if only I had the funds for that!), but I do own two that I really like, and one that's a little relevant to this show since it's from the vintage.

Its the series that probably matches JP classic Sonic lore best. Not from a visual standpoint but from a storytelling point.

It actually has direct game references in casino night, chaos emeralds, special stages, marble zone, etc. If it visually resembled the games it'd be absolutely ideal.
