In Seaman, you never have to feel lonely again. Seaman is here for you, a fin to rest your head on and a loyal friend that is alwasy willing to lend a gill to your troubles. The world is crude and cruel, so he needs you, and you need him. In this game about an unprecedented, everlasting friendship, you use the Dreamcast microphone to talk to your comrade. You have to check in with Seaman once every real-time day, or he dies - because in this cruel and unforgiving world, we all need each other more than ever. In time, Seaman will evolve, until Seaman becomes a frog. It's the sheer, dazzling miracle of life.
Yoot Saito's magnum opus marks for a milestone in how video game stories are portrayed in the medium. Never before has a piece of interactive fiction sported such believable characters, with flaws, developments and proper arcs, nor has any game before it sported such an intriguing setting, rife with deep lore that takes hours upon hours of careful analysis to properly dissect. With its innovative and groundbreaking microphone setup, the player can interact with Seaman in a way never before seen in a video game. Seaman is truly history in the making.
