News Pixel (Cave Story, Kero Blaster.) has shared an early build of his unreleased iOS game "Rock fish" (2011)

it'a mainly to promote his new discord, but the download link is a URL on his official site rather than being hosted directly on there. the file is a Windows executable, likely to simplify development over doing it natively on iPhone.

as for the backstory, this was being worked on in late 2010-2012. and looks to have been one of his first projects worked on after he (fairly controversially, particularly in hindsight.) sold the Cave Story IP to Nicalis.
the project was eventually shelved, but a few assets from it (namely music) would make their way into the Kero Blaster series.

as a quick note, the builds reportedly only run if your iOS language is set to Japanese.

for reference, these were officially released by Pixel back then so his fanbase could test the game. but the game’s obscurity (the first English translation wasn’t made until a month after release, for one.) by that point meant a search had to be conducted to find them again.
