News Now part of Microsoft's Consolidated Empire, Activision titles on Steam apparently ditching regional pricing

Hailinel

Musou Mania!
So apparently, now that Activision is part of Microsoft, the regional pricing of Activision titles on Steam is just out the window.

A number of countries are seeing unilateral steep hikes on Activision game prices across the board.

Happy industry consolidation, everybody!

Turkish prices doesn't seem to be changed. Big publishers don't do regional pricing in Turkey, only the indie games do. Activision titles has always had regular EU prices, €60 for a full priced title.

Things like this don't happen on a whim, it has been in the works since before MS closed the buyout, they didn't make Acti do this.

Dunno about their new releases but seems like they're bumping prices on some older games, like Black Ops, including on Brazil and Turkey. Unless something weird is happening on SteamDB, as it's picking up some recent hikes https://steamdb.info/app/42700/

Microsoft is also raising its own prices in some regions on Steam. Amazing publisher.

Mod note-
We changed ‘Uncle Phil’ in the title to ‘Microsoft’ to avoid attracting console wars but otherwise the topic around consolidation and regional pricing is obviously news, so we added a news tag too

Considering the subject matter of the game (covert operations, fucking over people disproportionally in South America) that sounds about right.
