PlayStation in a rare move, Sony has returned the rights of "Predator: Hunting Grounds" to it's developer Illfonic. PS5/Xbox Series ports are now in development

The Jungle is alive once again. Predator: Hunting Grounds will release new content in 2024 and 2025 with the game’s original creator and asymmetrical multiplayer expert, IllFonic Inc. as the new publisher, collaborating with 20th Century Games to breathe more life into this fan-favorite.

“This game has a strong, enthusiastic player base and a vocal community that wants to see the game updated and supported,” remarked Charles Brungardt, CEO of IllFonic. “Now that IllFonic is publishing games, we knew we had to get Predator: Hunting Grounds back. We knew we needed to get back to the Chopper!”

there's no PC release mentioned as this was the first Sony title to get a simultaneous release on both Playstation consoles and PC back in 2020.
of note, Illfonic was the developer of the Friday the 13th game. which was previously killed over legal issues relating to the IP as a whole. so being able to rescue this is a pretty big deal.
