100% docked on the sofa/big TV.
As cool as the hybrid functionality is, a beast of a home console like the Gamecube would suit me much better.

Almost entirely handheld using oled with hori split pad compact. Docked is pretty much only for things like mario kart or mario party with family.

No set way, depends on my current circumstances. From launch to 2022 I didn’t have a TV so I was 100% handheld, then 90% docked from 2022-mid 2024 and now I’m back at 95% handheld now I have a baby - no TV time and a lot of late night gaming, long with my weekly commute to the office

I don't use my Switch outside the house much (I'd rather user a smaller handheld while on the go), but at home, it's mostly handheld mode, unless I'm playing local multiplayer, Splatoon (almost exclusively play that one docked on my partner's Switch) or Smash and Monster Hunter (50/50). So about 75% or so handheld, and most of the time at home.

I often forget that the Switch is a handheld.

It only comes handy when there's a power outage and the screen lights up inside the dock; "Oh yeah! I can play my Switch while in the dark!"

Otherwise, I just take it out of the dock sometimes when I leave my cats alone at home, so they don't bump it and make it fall on the ground.

For me it really depends on what game it is and whether my partner is watching TV or not (or whether I want to disturb them or not). Splatoon I always play handheld. I also like to play in bed sometimes.

Usually docked these days. I rarely feel comfortable taking it out of the house, but frequently played in handheld when I lived with folks other than my husband. It was great being able to leave noisy environments on a whim.

yup , this is me. I'm always "OH NO, I DIDN'T SAVE" when a power outage happens and then the screen lights up and I go like "oh...yeah... it has a battery"

Pretty much exclusively in handheld mode, but I don't play it outside that much since I work from home. I did play it in the train very often when I had a commute, however. And of course, it always comes with me if I'm traveling.

90% docked 10% undocked. I mostly play undocked if I'm visiting family or traveling. But generally if I wanna play games at home I want to play on the TV. When traveling I usually drive and if I'm not driving I tend to want to socialize or enjoy the scenery rather than play games.

I used to play in bed once in a while when the Switch first came out but I dont find it super comfortable and also I'm usually up before my wife so I dont want to wake her up by playing switch. That said, once our 9 month old daughter is a bit older I may need to switch to handheld more more often especially to play more violent games since I wouldnt want to play those in front of her.

I've always viewed the Switch as Nintendo's latest handheld so that's how I have primarily played it. The times I docked it can be counted on one hand; once when I opened the system and wanted to see how it looked in the dock, and four other times during family gatherings (pre-Covid) since I had a completed Smash Bros. roster and a bunch of arcade games.
First off handheld mode, do you often play a Switch in public spaces? or are you someone who play their Switch while doing something else, binge watching a show or cooking.

do you like to use it while going to bed, or do you only use handheld mode in long trips, like an hotel, family visit or transportation like an Airplane or train
All of the above. I have no problem playing my Switch in public spaces if I'm out by myself and I tend to play whenever I have free time and feel like playing a game.
Do you use Table top mode? I for one am an avid user, often using it while sitting on a table, all while I have background noise or watching an video essay
I tried to use Tabletop mode when ARMS released, but I couldn't get used to the motion controls and ended up preferring to use the buttons instead.
