i also noticed the news about 2 of the admins (and SusWave, developer of Grögol Bonanza) dropping out, and i really hope they're doing okay.

Tell Me Why probably would have been the most accessible option due to consistently going free during Pride Month, but i had a physical Xbox copy of Life Is Strange 2 lying around for a while. so i decided to go with that game.
my prior experience with the series was completing Before The Storm a few years ago, which i liked. but i found the post-credits scene so upsetting that i've refused to play the original game ever since. i was happy to see the romantic relationship between Chloe & Rachel and was very peeved to learn that LiS1 unavoidably kills Rachel off.

thankfully 2 is a bit better with that, and Arthur & Stanley, bearers of the LGBT flag i took a screenshot of. get a peaceful life after their initial struggles.

this was something i was always planning to play when it launched, so i didn't really need the badge for encouragement.
while it's not pictured. i ended up getting a total of 38 Insight. with the problem points being that i failed to get 1st place in the inital race, and struggling heavily with the portal mechanics of Nichola's boss fight.

this took a while to decide what game to play that fits the objective, but i was eventually able to find Brawlout. which features the protagonist of Dead Cells (who is described using gender neutral terms, and has a wide variety of body types in their source game.) as a playable character.

Scratching an Itch (& From Queer Creators, with Love)
(direct link to the screenshot, as it's basically a spoiler.)

looking through my Itch library, i found a very unusual game called Pagan: Autogeny. about a fictional abandoned MMO with noticeable LGBT themes. (gender_magick)

i searched through the world, collecting various tarot cards and body parts. before finally finding a torso.
i attached the body parts i grabbed to the torso before leaving the area. which caused a random figure (the one in the screenshot) to appear in the sky alongside light in the shape of the cross, with the screen violently shaking as loud rumbling played in the background, before eventually crashing with a "Martyr remains restrained" error message.

after taking a few moments to process what the hell just happened, researching the game further lead me to discover that i had pretty much gotten the bad ending. with the other routes being using a world card to break the Maytr's restraints, or using a very hidden (as in, literally noclipping out of the world by exploiting a physics bug) tarot card to access a secret maze.
 
I haven't been playing games because of mental health issues but I hope Suswave, Tangerine and Zellia are doing well. I really do! Just know you're appreciated by so many of us
 
Don't know exactly how these events work since I'm still new here but I noticed a Metroid thing in there and figured it was a good opportunity to replay Metroid II and also make sure my n3DS still held a charge. Really sucked getting to the end and finding out I was missing one tank but it was easy enough to figure out where it was.

    I'm way behind on community-suggested badges — and @Plum sent me some lovely ones to use — but if there are any community ones you've seen suggested, GO FOR THEM! I will make a badge for just about anything you've brought to this event, so don't be shy about engaging with the great ideas others have brought forward.

    I still need a couple days to stabilize, but I will update the COMMUNITY BADGE section this week.

    Original plan was all of June, and that's likely still the case, but who knows — if anyone feels like the uncertainty has affected their participation timeline, we may be able to ask for an extension.

    I know there are some I definitely wanted that I've put off so far...

    It has been thrilling to see everyone engage with this, and I hope you continue to do so — loudly and proudly!

    Signalis is one of my GOATs, so I had to use this event as an excuse to go for the secret ending. I can't say enough good things about this game, it's a no-brainer purchase if you even remotely like old RE-style survival horror, symbolism-heavy puzzle box narratives, and space lesbians.

    People are tagging their results with proper badge names, so gonna quote myself saying that this was for Bisexual Lighting.

    Have also just finished Scratching an Itch with Mighty Jill Off - a cute little Mighty Bomb Jack inspired platformer with lesbian BDSM themes and an absolutely adorable main character design. Not to toot my own horn but reading about how it was praised for its high difficulty leaves me a little baffled. Some jumps were pretty nervewracking, but the game's got plenty of checkpoints. 2008 was a different time. People have forgotten how to play games with jump buttons, I guess. Also wild that this little title has a wikipedia page. I can see, however, why people have rediscovered it and started posting about it on twitter. The story images are super well done!
    Cute to play something very queer and adult-oriented without it going overboard
     
    Got a couple things to turn in

    Didn't think to take a picture right when I completed chapter 4, so here's Mario and Vivian having a delightful not-at-all-haunted-or-stranded time in Keelhaul Key, which you can't get to until Chapter 5.

    I've always liked the vibe of the Mojave Outpost. It's got a sort of "dive bar at the boundary of civilization and wilderness" energy. I also appreciate how in a world that's largely filled with the remnants of an old way of life, the Mojave Outpost has something rare; the Unification Monument is new structure built by people trying to reclaim some of what the war took away. Life finds a way, I guess

    Been a hot second, but I'm back with a submission for From Queer Creators, with Love and Scratching an Itch from playing Daisy Chain, a game by our very own @Clov.

But to keep it simple, I very much enjoyed how the narrative uses multiple forms of documents and a sci-fi premise that parallels more grounded trans experiences in a riveting way. It's playable in your browser! I played it on my phone! Go play it!

    Yeah, but that just makes it cooler if someone actually pulls it off!

    What if we just change horny to "sexy"? I think that's a little closer to the realm of plausible deniability, if it suits you!

    Today, I'm going to show you irrefutable proof that the off-screen Switch screenshots I show are indeed mine.

    YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PROVIDE THIS LEVEL OF PROOF. I am bored and being silly.

    We will not be especially strict, but it does give us a little bit of ease-of-mind if you post at least one off-screen screenshot with your username on a piece of paper next to your Switch or something.

    Anything that shows a username or game name you like using also helps.

    Again, we're not gonna be super strict. It's honor system here. Nintendo has made sharing screenshots easier with the Switch-to-Phone ad hoc network, and we want you to participate — so please, truly, whatever's easiest for you!

    Just... please don't go around taking random screenshots from the internet or other users. That sucks.

    All badges are added at the end of the event — with some grace for the admins, since it's a lot of leg work!

    Either the mods or I will be tallying up who won which badges and announcing it around the end of the event, probably August 1st so that everyone can get in by deadline.

    After those names and badges are announced, the admins have to add each badge to the system, which takes a while.

    Then, they go through the list and assign badges to users!

    So yeah — post event, and give us a bit to make it all happen. But then you'll have 'em!

    That’s good to know. The extension gives me time to hopefully replay dragon age inquisition

    Or play mass effect, haven’t decided yet. Big fan of both.
