TV Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix (Adi Shankar X Ubisoft) coming to Netflix October 19th

yes, the creator of the excellent Castlevania cartoon is making what is basically Captain N for adults. with the main focus being on Blood Dragon.

to get the obvious question of "but what about a proper sequel to the original?" out of the way, i think it's clear the IP is meant to be used for more expiremental content like this rather than a traditional franchise. the better question is if they got Power Glove back to do the music.
also Trials of the Blood Dragon was a direct sequel despite the completely different gameplay, the joke being that it's (in-universe) the child-friendly saturday morning cartoon spin-off of the R rated movie, like the real Rambo and Toxic Avenger cartoons.

genuinely shocked Ubisoft approved of making Rayman a villain. it doesn't seem like an IP they no longer use.
also Adi managing to convince them to bring back Tonic Trouble or Buck Bumble for the role would have been far more wild.

Jade and Pej'y from Beyond Good and Evil are also main characters in this thing - you can see their names in the "character/skin select" scene. But yeah, Rayman was absolutely not on my bingo card.

Also, the old dude from the teaser trailer is apparently Marcus from Watch_Dogs as well.

Watching the trailers for the first time today and I'm actually sold on "What even is this thing" factor alone.
