The show follows Madoka Agaki, a university graduate from a small port town who decides to quit her job at a seafood manufacturer and moves to Tokyo to join a small advertising agency called ADventure.

Although she used to dream about living in Tokyo, once she gets there Madoka soon realises everyday life isn’t what she expected, and she starts to stress when she takes on a presentation that could result in the fate of her company resting in her hands.

Then Madoka receives a package from her mother, containing the Game Boy Pocket and copy of Pokémon Red she used to play as a child. She starts playing the game and realises it contains something that’s important in life.
uhhh, yeah.

for the record. this is likely following in the footsteps of "Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light". which had a similar concept of the game being a side portion of the main drama. (saving your company vs bonding with your son)
though that one was actually based on a true story.

Going hard with the nostalgia I take it. Interested to see what comes of this.

Huh. Mildly curious about this, actually. There's a couple interesting ways they can use pokemon Red in that kind of plot.

I love that concept, if only because I'm a sucker for dramas about people who have had similar life experiences as I, and I'm also a young adult with a lot of job related anxiety who reflects on their Pokemon Red nostalgia a lot.

Part of me wonders what a Western version for such a drama would be like. NOT a dub of this one, but a Western version with its own setting. Could be US- or UK-based, or even another country other than those.

Thank you for reading.

Pretty much everything about the premise could be adapted to the US. I guess it would probably be about some person working a fast food job in West Virginia who moves to NYC to work in advertising.

This is actually a really cool premise.Anybody got any idea if this is something Netflix would license or maybe TPC just releases it on YouTube?

first trailer

yes, that was a shot of her blowing on the cartridge and the console featured in there.
someone should definitely tell her that the correct way to clean them is by dipping a q-tip in isopropyl alcohol and rubbing it over the contacts.

There was a movie starring Adam Sandler - in one of his few dramatic turns - and Don Cheadle, called Reign Over Me in which the main character, played by Sandler, copes with his wife's death from 9/11 by playing Shadow of the Colossus.

It's... OK. I watched it once and the only thing that's memorable about it is how unremarkable it is.
