Xbox 1st-Party Xbox game "Quantum Break" is getting temporarily removed from Game Pass due to licensing issues. (up: it's back up)

no official blog post yet, but it's listed on the game pass webpage.

1st-party titles getting removed are extremely rare, and only tend to happen due to licensing issues (the Forza games, for example.)
presumably this might be due to the licensed music, as Alan Wake was similarly delisted for several months for the same reason. another factor worth noting is that Remedy might be buying back the full publishing rights from Microsoft, which also previously happened with Alan Wake.

in the case of the latter, it seems unlikely it will return. as Remedy hasn't really been supporting the service.

I own the physical on PC and Xbox One for Quantum Break. Very interesting game. Hope it isn't being delisted, or if Remedy is taking control of it, hope to see it on more platforms. It would likely have to be a cloud game on Switch though not just for the TV show haha.

Didn't Microsoft publish this game? It's an Xbox One exclusive.
Very weird it's leaving. I wonder if Remedy or one of the many publishers they worked with negotiated 'back' the rights, similar to what Platinum did with Wonderful 101?
