PlayStation 11 prototype builds (and various documents) for the cancelled PS2 Vectorman game have been recovered and posted online

from the same uploader that brought you the North American Shenmue II Dreamcast prototype.

this was officially revealed by SEGA all the way back in 2003, to a fairly mixed response owing to it’s lack of resemblance to the original two Genesis games (though the developers did actually concept various segmented designs closer to the older titles.)

beyond that, though. Pseudo Interactive managed to create quite a technologically impressive title. with levels filled with various objects you can launch around through a powerful physics engine, and a light sprinkling of a few destructible environments.

in fact, the physics were eventually salvaged after the project was canned, with the studio implementing them into a car combat demo which would later go on to become the Full Auto series.
 
There's a lot to take in (11 builds!?) but it's really surprising how clean this footage is.

That first one looks super generic for a 3D Vectorman lol.

Dumb question, but how did they recover 11 prototypes (and game design documents)?

Did these prototypes come from dev kits that were being sold on Ebay or something?
