just clarifying for the record

the new shot is NOT a booster

it’s a new vaccine, make sure you get it, because the old boosters are treating for variants that aren’t around as much anymore

the more covid spreads, the more you do shit, the more new variants develop

so please, please, please wear a fucking mask and really consider what you’re doing

wastewater spike is as bad or worse than last year, the previous ALL TIME HIGH

so I’m once again fucking begging for my life

while I’m bumming people out and putting targets on my back, reminder that one of the truest things about thanksgiving is the violent spike in COVID it kickstarts every year

we already got a big rise from Canadian thanksgiving, so we’re uh. fucked this year.

You're right, sorry about that. Just called it that more out of reflex. But yes, everyone get it! And be careful about travel and masking as the holidays happen/approach. I'm 99% sure I got COVID due to traveling to New York for a training class for work last week, and I got it even though I masked and tried to be careful. It doesn't help when you're at three different airports and four different planes in ~a few days, and only like 10% of all people were wearing masks the entire time, if that.

Finally beat Death's Door after sleeping on it for several months.

While there was some stuff that I didnt like overall this was a pretty great game, I think that next Top down Zelda could learn something from it. Might just 100% the game, which I rarely do with games.

Absolut stunning soundtrack to.

hell yeah! I’m an absolute lover of this game — I know some people didn’t think it was perfect, but… I guess I’m one of the people who do!

there’s literally only one thing I would add to it — one very late postgame boss, just for my tastes — but otherwise I really grew to love all of it after I finally got going

wish a dev group existed that made their name "fixing" (i.e. polishing, modding, remastering, or remaking) old garbage/broken games like Big Rigs, Superman 64, Bubsy 3D, etc. to the point where they were at least decently fun to play.

Man, if I ever strike it rich, I might make it my life goal to find and fund a group like this. OFC this would be more of a for-the-fun-of-it fan project type thing than a for profit enterprise.
 
I got a Shiny Eevee on Pokémon Sleep

Wondering which shiny eeveelution to evolve it to, I don't think I ever saw one. Thinking of an Umbreon, but it would take a while (needs to register 100h+ of sleep so like half a month)

Too bad there's no Pokémon Home integration though

Edit: ended up looking it up and shiny Sylveon seems to be cool too

Only ones I would avoid are the Sinnoh ones. Not much of a difference in coloration.

I’m gonna wait a few days on ace angler, the sale doesn’t end till the third, and I want to make sure Gigabash doesn’t go on sale this week(that and if Megaton Musashi Wired is dropping soon. It’s release date should be revealed Wednesday… hopefully… I mean it’s level 5, sigh)

After binging the anime over the week, I picked up the Scott Pilgrim game while it was on sale. Not really a beat'em up type of person but hopefully I can find enjoyment out of it. Worth trying for $5.

It’s one of my favorite brawlers. A bit tough to play in single player, but if you stick with it it’s a great time.

Friends, family, and anime thwarted my plans to finish an RPG over Thanksgiving break. Granted, I was switching between Mario RPG and Star Ocean Second Story R. I do believe I'm on the final dungeon of Star Ocean though so maybe I'll wrap that up this week.

I have a new video type I'm gonna be trying out, in which I read out some crazy detailed game predictions/pitches to friends (this is based around the 2023 Nintendo predictions I did last year if anyone remembers that), and I just wrapped on the slides for the first one, a pitch for a Smash Bros. reboot! Not sure if this is the best place on the site to post it, but if anyone wants a fun evening read, check it here!

Obviously you deserve props for such a thorough project, but cutting the roster way down while simplifying the characters and some mechanics seems sort of lame to me personally. Maybe it's more realistic, but I'd like to see such drastic cuts paired with full redesigns to better reflect the original games, like Mario having a few power-up forms.

Also, I'm pretty sure "Ring Fit Trainer" is wrong, as the character receives the training.

Good work though, and cool idea

You're half right, half wrong. Serkan Toto tweeted out "Z2 2023" a few months ago and Jeff Grubb mentioned something Zelda-related happening at the end of the year, but we don't know what it is.

No game needs to be perfect, only warcraft 3 is - but there was one thing that bugged me since I was not able to play it on a daily basis but I did so over quite a bit of time.

I'd like a bit more helpful menu/tools - something like an overworld map with the areas, or something that would help me remember what the heck I was doing the last time I played it lol. Maybe it wouldnt be a problem if I was able to play it daily but I wasnt.

I almost didnt return to the game because the last time I played it was a few months ago and I was just not having a clue on where to go and I was very close to put it back in to the drawer, I had to take a cue from a youtube longplay video to keep going - very glad I did.

So it's not really a Death's door problem, but me being an old fart with a bad memory having some sort of QoL help would have made the experience a better place for me. But despite this, I adored the game.
 
I did it! I finally started Star Ocean 2R!

And i wiped at the first boss, 'cause over the years i forgot that the character that joins you in that fight is lvl 1 and the boss actually hits like a truck compared to the other enemies!
