News Sonic Dream Team announced (Apple Arcade exclusive) - Available December 5th.

Looks fun as hell. And playable Cream and Rouge? Hell yeah, they've been ignored for too long.

I'll give this 5 months before it launches on elsewhere. Though I shouldn't underestimate the moneyhat power that Apple possesses.

Uuuuh wtf, this looks cool as hell. I want to not play this on an iPhone though lol.

This looks awesome. I wonder what the catch is. Still gonna play it though.
A lot of more recent Apple Arcade games have this kind of live service/mobile GaaS structure despite not having any MTX. Not saying that this is the case here but I wouldn't rule it out since Apple wanted to focus more on games like that.

Chuchu rocket universe never got ported and got fully delisted after the 3 year window

Another Apple Arcade game.

I do wonder how well the Sonic Racing game did on there.

yeah i guess that would kill any hype i have for the game. hereā€™s hoping thatā€™s not the case.

Wasn't that touch controls only? Made sense that it stuck to iOS. Sega needs to come up with a new entry for all platforms.

This, on the other hand, will definitely launch on all platforms once the exclusivity period ends. Sonic generates millions on consoles.

They aren't even selling it regularly on the Apple Store so...

edit: also, it did have controller support

Looks great, but I'm nervous re: controls and game feel with it being from Hardlight

Apple moneyhat bad. Nintendo moneyhat good.

What's Nintendo money-hatted over the last decade compared to Apple anyway? Bayonetta 2 & 3? Games that wouldn't have been made anyway? Games using their own actual IP? Not sure I really follow.

@Raccoon Maybe now it'll have a chance to come to Switch.

This probably wouldn't have been made without Apple's money either.

Tbh my biggest beef with this is just the fact that the ecosystem it's on necessitates that it's digital only. Apple (and Google, this isn't a Smartphone war thing) don't have a good track record with officially preserving games so the most likely scenario is that years from now this will only be playable through illegal means and through owning an old device with it already downloaded and not updated to the latest software.

wait chuchu rocket is gone???

fuck you apple
Honestly, I don't think this is Apple's fault. Many previously AA-exclusive games were ported to other systems and in some cases even made available for purchase on the App Store. This seems to be entirely on Sega.

the characters look so tiny compared to the level objects lol. who shwunk them

This looks very cool!

Hoping it does get released outside of the AA ecosystem, I'm mildly curious.

I know they're not the most unique names to begin with, but what's with Sonic games using Mario-ass titles. First Superstars and now Dream Team.

This looks very good, but I guess Sonic always does at the start. Curious how it will control.

For what it's worth, you can play Apple Arcade games on their other hardware too. iMac, MacBook, Apple TV. I just borrow a family member's device and pair an 8BitDo gamepad to it.

...THEY GOT FRIGGIN GAMETAL ON THIS?!

That's really cool if accurate. been a fan of his for a while.

Fingers crossed for this one. Sonic games have been fine for the last couple of years, would be nice to see one really break through that barrier.

I suppose the advantage of not having Apple Arcade is that I can see impressions before it launches elsewhere.

No Shadow, no android, no buy.
No Shadow Androids either.

not too optimistic about ports for a Sega Hardlight game

Chu Chui Rocket Universe and Team Sonic Racing mobile are still stuck on Apple Arcade or just delisted

granted ports of the latter would be redundant but Team Sonic Racing mobile version was its own game with some exclusive content

Don't own an apple product, and never will. I'll just wait for the eventual PC release

This game looks great but is probably criminally short and not really what we want.

Proof of concept. Just give us Adventure 3 Like this.
