I'm believing May more and more from my Investor circles. I really wish I could get something that wasn't just basically "Trust me bro" lol

March reveal to May release seems tight though. Has anyone done any research on Announcement to release timing from past Nintendo launches?
I'd say it depends what you mean by announcement, but whether you're going by "Nintendo tells us there's a new console" or "Nintendo shows us the new console", the Switch 2 is seems primed to have the shortest turnaround at this point by either metric.

An early 2025 launch would be good fun just to see if all these threads collapse in on themselves like black holes due to mass of all the posts.
y'know even if it's 2025 we'll probably know something concrete by the end of 2024

we will at the very least see the light at the end of the tunnel next year. y'know. probably.

to make my own stance clear, I think it's very likely this thing is out by the end of next calendar year

however H2 people making fun of H1 people are totally losing sight of this process

do not be confident you've made "the logical guess" because last year's logical guess is this year's clown shoes

I'm honestly shocked y'all are so confident MP4 is even gonna release on Switch 2. There's very little to say it will or won't, and in all likelihood there's not much even saying a new console will 100% release next year. MP4 could be the holiday title for switch next year with switch 2 coming in early 2025.
Metroid Prime 4 is releasing for Switch 3.

The shortest in the history of video games is six months with the Xbox One.

I swear, if this thing is 2025 after you guys got me believing in 2024, which is after you all got me believing in 2023 last year...
that's why you gotta stop letting the internet make you believe things

last year I was like "hey what if it's not 2023" and I got called an illogical doomer and troll

so I bought into 2023, twice

now here I am, switch 2less

We're all just speculating, there's absolutely no reason to be dismissive of anyone because not a single person in this thread can say with any certainty what Ninty will do, unless Tanabe is lurking and laughing his arse off.
They could launch the 2witch with Geist 2, Animal Crossing New Multiverse and Metroid Prime Hunters Battle Royal, sure that's pretty unlikely but it's also Nintendo, MC Horace is a thing that exists.

At the end of the day Nintendo will Ninten-do whatever they Nintenplease.

2025 is possible, but it seems unlikely due to fairly good leaks that point to 2024.

The issue with team 2023 was just that there was literally nothing there other that stolen data people weirdly interpreted. There was nothing at all in terms of quality leaks or rumors.

How do they have enough to easily fill out 2024? They’ve shown all they get is smaller Peach title, a niche remake, another remake, a remaster. We got rumors of yep yet again another remake and some yep yet again more remasters.
Those are still games tho, and they're still releasing next year. Add MP4, the inevitable disappointing Pokemon thing, and maybe finally the Zelda ports and you have a somewhat decent year. It's not mind-blowing but it would work.

pokemon deep black and pokemon stark white will absolutely carry the switch 1 holiday with or without switch 2

Yeah it’s something.

I can tell you that none have been close to that tight before. Most used to get announced/revealed a year+ before they released. The Switch was revealed in Oct and released in March iirc, which is shorter, but not nearly March -> May short.

if you're basing March on Nate's thing there's some thinking that it could be some sort of cert date for launch titles, which would fit perfectly with a May launch

March is too good of a month for something to happen. I never thought of the cert date for launch titles. That's a good thought.

Well going by this metric, I would be STUNNED at a December/January announcement. (If May is the release).

As an investor of not just Nintendo but many other greed machines I call companies, I usually always follow the trend. The relevant history. These say march to may announcement to release is really bad odds.

Why is everyone all of a sudden convinced that it's H2 2024 and now people are talking about 2025? Is 2024 H1 not on the table anymore?

Kinda wish this thread split didn't happen as trying to keep up with discussion has now become an irritating task.

This guy is wondering how many palms he needs to grease in order to get a Switch 2 reveal at The Game Awards December 7th.....

Not really (regarding H1 2024 being on the table), not after those report came out & Nintendo mentioning that this fiscal year is solely focused on the current Switch.

2023 wasn't a logical guess. It never was. A lot of H1's "evidence" is just some analysts expectations and Chinese manufacturing websites with a dodgy track record.

I met Geoff once. Hes a real one. I would love for Nintendo to give his stage the honor of the Switch 2's reveal. Sadly I'd bet quite a bit of money against it. Maybe a teaser isn't out of the question? Maybe show BOTW at 4K then cut to black <Next generation Switch will be shown off in March. Stay tuned>

actully wonder how far in advance when the companies know when they won/lost an award, would be funny if Nintendo had a new prime 4 trailer ready for the 2021 VGA's but backed out after "it takes two" won over Dread for GOTY lmao

im glad this thread was created cause I still have no Idea what a T239 chip even is and cant participate in that convo lol
"The Switch 2 uses the T239 chip. The chip utilizes a deltonium charge processor powered by a teflon vacuum flipper that, when the nanowave pulse signature does a erbium quantum shift, allows for the activation of Nvidia's DLSS technology." -- The Hardware Thread right now, probably.

The best we can get is a Metroid Prime 4 teaser that doesn't have the Switch 1 logo in it.

I also met Geoff once, I agree he is very nice.

Maybe a 40 second-ish teaser, like the Series X one. Starts with a black screen, then a retrospective through Nintendo's generations and their landmark titles, from Game & Watch to Nintendo Switch, shows the fusion between handheld and home console achieved by the 2017 console, then with the music rising in tension, it all comes to a halt with a sillhouette of the next-gen platform and the new Joy-Con running what seems to be a new 3D Mario (slightly blurred) and then it appears on the screen: "Now you're playing with power: SUPER POWER" followed by "The next-generation arrives in 2024" and the Nintendo logo that ends every trailer.

Fwiw I still think the reveal will be in Q1, maybe early Q2. I think 2025 is straight pessimism.

But then again I'm not smart enough for the other thread.

What am I, an internet leaker? I'll take For Fun, please.

I'd be more happy for Geoff and the VGA's getting that teaser than the massive buzz that would generate for Nintendo on the Switch 2. The entire team behind the VGA's deserves that level of bombshell moment. I was fortunate to attend a few E3's but the passion and dedication displayed by the people who put on the VGA's rivals TGS imo.

What's the most likely choice to be the killer app online multiplayer launch window title: Mario Kart, Smash Bros, or Animal Crossing?
Dark horse candidate: Metroid Prime 4 (It's a Destiny clone now)
Updated version of Smash Ultimate.

How many shares are you at, been slowly buying, at REDACTED rn.

also re: Metroid as a launch title

Metroid Prime was gonna be a launch title for the Wii before being delayed for polishing. Nintendo doesn't consider the idea off the table

What can I say I like sharing, as a Nintendo fan as well as a shareholder I feel like this forum provides decent information.

There is a line between being a part of the community and being a part of a very uncomfortable SEC conference call (I've seen it happen). Not only that but their are resources that people can use to find out your personal information just by knowing the exact amount of stock you hold in a particular company.

Then you have the type of stock. Do you own NTDOY or NTDOF? Those are ADR's (Funds that buy the real Nintendo stock on the Tokyo stock exchange and then sell them in the USA) and usually 8 of them = 1 real stock of Nintendo. I personally own both types.

Mostly NTDOY since it has a higher volume, not much but it’s just a preference. Adding to an IRA just to avoid getting taxed on those dividends.

Made sure to redact that share amount 😂

There's not a lot of useful precedent, since Nintendo abandoned their pre-Switch strategy and the Switch announcement cycle was, even according to Nintendo directly, an aberration due to the whole mobile thing.

Trying to apply the Switch precedent as closely as we are able, a May launch would probably mean a December or January announcement (more likely January, since December is usually a mostly announcement-free zone). They perhaps might go a little earlier to November to avoid the December holiday zone.

March could very well be the full presentation:
January announcement/reveal trailer, March full presentation, May launch.
If the announcement was in early January and the release in mid/late May that would make the announcement to release period exactly as long as the Switch one, maybe even a few days longer.

Good choice lol . Its usually ok to just to say "Oh I got 1, 2, 3, etc. digits of nintendo stock". It paints the picture but keeps you safe. Couple friends of mine do the same with an IRA. I personally can't rationalize that because I rotate sectors and weight rebalance with my account frequently. My NTDOY shares get moved in and out but my TSE shares are much more solid and never messed with.

January just doesn't seem right but Nintendo is Nintendo. They beat to their own drum. Its fun speculating however.
