PlayStation PlayStation Showcase announced (May 24th, 1 PM PDT / 9 PM BST)

MGS stuff looks great, Helldivers 2 looks interesting but not much for me personally. Hopefully it was good for other people though!

the best parts of this showcase were the Metal Gear Solid collection (which I will play on Switch if it comes there, if not Series X), the MGS 3 remake (which I will play on Series X) and Marathon (which I will play on Series X).

Thanks Sony!

sometimes it feels like they are learning how to pace things like a direct and then they just....unlearn
I actually prefer it over the Direct style, it's straight to the point with a decent break in the middle. In directs I think they ramble on a bit too much on random stuff to fill in the gaps. The issue is that most of the stuff didn't appeal to us so it all felt slow, but for those who like the games then it must be very exciting.

This is quick sure, but it feels like it's just on a random shuffle. It's super disorienting to jump from Indie to Third Party to Service and back again with no rhyme, reason or rhythm

MGS Collection and Dragons Dogma 2 looked good, may pick up on Xbox. A shame MGS isn't on switch.

I've seen enough to tell me Sony is now the Apple of video games. Don't think I'll buy their next console straight away if there is one.

That ps5 streaming device looks awful
They confirmed it was streaming? Surprised they're launching that, I'd assume it has limited appeal but who knows, maybe they have data that says otherwise. Think it'll be very niche like VR2 imo.

Not much that really appealed to me on the showcase. Phantom Blade ∅ looked like a blast and I'd love to play it, but that's about it. Final Fantasy XVI trailer was good. The AA/"indie" games too. Everything else felt kinda samey to me. Granblue Fantasy looked great too.

This was, like, very boring? Like, even the mildly interesting stuff got marred by the pacing.

Talos Principle 2 is hype though.

I get what you mean, but I think they must've done it to keep engagement so the AAA fans don't jump out of the stream, nor do indie fans, which allows them to maybe see other games they like. I think I noticed a pattern where they went [big AAA game] > [indie] (repeat) > VR2 stuff and Q Lite > hype announcements (Spiderman 2)

I thought Phantom Blade looked cool too, I just wished they revealed more about how the actual game plays instead of how it looks (which is cool). That's one thing I appreciate more about other game company's communication.

Boat chase in Spiderman 2 looks epic ngl, suit looks so much better than the default one in Spiderman OG

Weird their was no Silent Hill 2 or the Naruto game both games that honestly thought would show

That was an awful showcase. There were definitely a couple interesting games and announcements but most were shown so weirdly. Pacing was disjointed and jarring.

At least Spider Man 2 looked so good.
