News Nintendo reveals new Mario Switch bundle for MAR10 day, includes your choice of three games (MK8D, NSMBUDX, SMO) + Mario Movie Stickers, $299

That would be because "Mario day" is a dumb thing that only happens in North America because of the silly way they write dates over there and Europe and Japan/Asia could not care any less about that specific date.
True, the correct format is 10MAR. Americans are wrong yet again. They should go to jail for not having the metric system.
But... if they are just now getting a Switch, how did they already play those games?!
You are right, nobody bought a Wii U so they didn't actually get to play MK8 and NSMBU. Forgive my arrogance!

If you're trying to grab the crowd who didn't already care enough to have bought the system for these games years ago, better to be 50 bucks cheaper.

Taking regular system price, adding in a game for no extra cost... bad offer?
how? it's a 300 dollar system that people buy on its own, plus a free 60 dollar game. OLED is not the only switch that people buy.
No it‘s a good deal to get into Switch Eco-System considering how expensive regular Switch still is. I just wish there would be a general price drop for Switch, It is time and better from an consumer standpoint.

Is this their first non holiday/BF bundle where they "pack in" a free game at no extra change?

yeah, it is pretty wild that it's been 6 years and there hasn't been a price drop yet. i can't recall any other system (home console or handheld) that kept its price for this long.

Looks like we have four new faminsiders

Hopefully my exciting predictions end up turning true like my boring ones lmao.

Now, tbh, I don't see exactly how it's a bad offer. Nintendo Switch + game for 299,99 is only a Black Friday thing. And only with MK8DX.

Having the option to choose from two mainline Mario games or the best Mario Kart game while getting your Switch for no additional cost is the biggest possible deal they could make imo.

If they make enough stock, I can see it maintaining or getting up the sales of V2.

"Why isn't with OLED", simple, OLED is still a deluxe model, special versions all come without a game, there's no OLED bundle yet. The sooner they'll make it is this BF imo.

Well, yeah, I’m sure most people who had the courage to buy a Wii U already got a Switch 😂

Whoever is buying this bundle probably hasn’t played these games lol

iwata (based) said that price cuts functionally punish early adopters. very glad they haven't had to do one yet

I'd honestly switch to YYYY/MM/DD in a heartbeat if it became universal across the globe. It's just that the American format is peak deranged.

Emptying out their supply of the OG model perhaps

Do we see it removed from the lineup by end of the year?

it makes sense if you consider the american format a functional abbreviation of yyyy.mm.dd with the denomination of greatest quantity and frequency in sequence shunted to the end. a little bodgey but it's alright

I'm sorry to say that the euro dd.mm.yyyy format is literally entirely backwards

The american dating format makes a lot of sense for clerical filing and data analysis/sorting. you usually look up things by month then day. And all of those months are bucketed into a year or half year or whatever larger buckets you want. So MM.DD makes sense. You can argue over where to place YYYY it's not as important.

'Organization by narrowing' is how I've thought of it... e.g. when scheduling an appointment:
"Hi, I'd like to come in, do you have any appointments in March?"
"March isn't free, but I have a slot in April"
"Sure, which days?"
"the 3rd, 4th, and 5th"
"Great, so let's go with April, on the 5th"
(And year is shunted to the end cause we usually know what year it is)

Well, in Europe you can buy the OLED for 300€ almost every week, even with a game for 320-330€ on special offers...

Its far from a good deal. Stock clearance, no more no less.

Nintendo really out here doing the bare minimum. They don't care about selling Switches anymore lol it's selling by itself.

I loved the odyssey Joy Con on the OG/V2 Switch. On the OLED I prefer neutral Joy Con like the white/grey ones. Something about the screen having smaller bezel maked the colorful Joy Con look a bit odd. Maybe it's the darker screen too (on the OG switch the screen looks grey when off).

Looks like nintendo put about as much effort into this bundle as they did into animal crossing amiibo festival

I hate arrogant Nintendo. They're better when they're on the back foot, lol.

They really aren't. Having gone through the Wii U nothing about any of the deals they made moved any needles. And their staunch refusal to drop the system by more than $50 was (while better in the long run) really didn't make it enticing to buy.

This NoA deal is actually not that bad. The closest thing to an actual price drop in years. Now the NoE deal stinks quite a bit more.

I get Odyssey is the best of the 3, and most people have MK8, but the option would have been nice.
