News Nintendo Direct announced for February 8th

Listings aren't being removed because of price changes. Nintendo is literally cancelling all videogames at this very moment.

You know, people dog on him but the PapaGenos fella is typically pretty good at setting expectations for how credible certain rumors could be so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Then again, Grubb shaved his god damn head because he was so confident in an announcement last time.

Who knows.

What's the Switch eShop featured page looking like right now? Any changes made today?

"Uhhhh Mr. Bowser, the fans saw the TotK prices updates."

"And?"

"We'll I've seen them happier during the Wii U Era."

"Then I'll do what I must. Make the update "

"THE Update?!"

"Yes, we need to overshadow the price increase. Tell the retailers to update their MP4 pages."

"Yes, the system update that gives the Switch... the most stability"

Nintendo's only putting the Switch version of TotK at $70 so the next-gen version will seem like a bargain at $65. It's about managing expectations

They've been listed for years, I think they are taking them down because they don't want people locking in for $60
why would they suddenly do this the night before a direct where we may or may not have seen the first $70 nintendo game? That would be a wild coincidence.

I’m sure they got a heads up even if it’s just a day ahead. Or someone was smart and follows CAG/Wario and just took them down as a precaution. I guarantee someone has the job of following those and fixing price errors.

I dare Nintendo to go balls to the wall with this direct to close out the last year of the Switch

Open with Donkey Kong or 2D Mario
Metroid Prime HD + Metroid Prime 4 double whammy
Xenoblade 3 Stand alone expansion
Pikmin 4
F-Zero GX HD
Mario Kart 8 DLC
Hollow Knight Silksong Shadow Drop
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Price Drop

Not really. It's money saving precautions. Don't be surprised to see it happen to Pikmin 4 too.

The ol’ Sega Saturn approach.
Nah, the problem with the Saturn was that it released with barely any games (due to the shadowdrop but still), and I have it on good authority that Nintendo Switch already has games.

I can show you the proof right here:

*checks pre-order pages for big upcoming Switch games*

oh....

...oh no

So many rumors, and the vast majority of them are remasters/remakes/ports! Which one(s) do you think is most likely to appear? Or all of them?!

-Metroid Prime
-Baten Kaitos
-Kid Icarus Uprising
-Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp
-F-Zero GX
-Zelda: The Wind Waker
-Zelda: Twilight Princess

lemme just say that even with nintendo yet again hurting my wallet to keep up with the market i am totally stoked for this direct. its gonna be the first one that my dog ever gets to witness.

Remember the two Zelda bonus discs of the Gamecube era? What if The Wind Waker & Twilight Princess double pack is included with the purchase of Tears Of The Kingdom?

very unlikely we get wind waker/twilight princess HD this year unless TOTK itself gets delayed into 2024 for Switch 2 or something. if TOTK is coming this year, Nintendo won't want competing 3D Zelda games. I even doubt they'd slate a 2-D Zelda game in the next 12 months.

Some Pikmin type ideas that could be revealed:

One possibility could be Light Pikmin. With them, you could melt objects and maybe even solve reflection puzzles. Light is naturally occurring and even some fish are able to produce it out of their bodies.

If we get Cyan/Light Blue Pikmin, they could be Natural Gas / Radiation types.

Wild to be at a point where the leas likely games to be announced on a Direct are the Zelda ports lol.
I think out of the list anything but Zelda can appear.
Advance Wars is a lock, I think Metroid Prime and Baten Kaitos are on the same level of likelihood.
