News Nintendo Direct announced for February 8th

And there goes "but they say mostly first half they will not show anything else". It's the same cycle every single time.
 
The question is if this will be TotK's blowout or if they'll announce a dedicated Direct for that.

feels weirdly freeing in a way that all the Nintendo franchises I care about have seen recent releases already going into this one

not sure what i'm even hoping for out of this specifically really other than I guess those Baten Kaitos rumors

edit: also that new SAGA game thing, Scarlet Grace was pretty good

There's always a chance they have very little to talk about for the second half but yeah... right now Pikmin 4 is it for the second half (probably); they've probably got June and July games to announce tomorrow. My guess is we get at least one game for later into 2023.

Let's not forget February 2021 had the 'first half' disclaimer and still announced Splatoon 3 for 2022. They weren't lying about the focus, but they still found room for something much further out.
 
It's gonna be glorious! I'm picking up a pizza and getting cozy for this. Not expecting anything crazy for me personally, but I want FF Remastered Collection and new casual game.

I expect at least one of the Gamecube remasters remake to show up

Probably F-Zero, if Prime is in 2 half

Ahhhh, reminiscing about signing up to the site a day before the Sept Direct to join in on the fun (and wish into existance Octopath 2). Good times.
 
lol I knew a Direct had been announced the second I tried to enter Famiboards and the website just went kaput.

I find it so weird to still see people on Twitter saying Zelda won't be here.

They literally can't get away with showing nothing of it. At the VERY least, they'll announce a separate Direct. But even that I don't think will happen. I see a beefier trailer than what we've had so far (maybe not Switch Presentation level trailer, but still) that kicks off the marketing cycle in earnest, follow by a steady stream of info leading up to May.
 
The site may be moving like molasses but we out here! See y'all at the Direct. 8 am for me which is nice, get some tea and toast going.

I was thinking the same thing, but when was the last time that Nintendo headlined their Nintendo Direct announcements?

I think they just don't do that stuff anymore.
