I feel like I have to play this at some point just due to how batshit you’re making it sound. . .

Very, very sorry to hear. To lose a pet is to lose a member of the family. If you want to talk to someone, just send me a PM.Had to put my dog down today. Was a hard thing to do. I’ll miss him.
Out of curiosity, what parts infuriated you? Finally finished Nier Automata.
Of all the games I’ve ever played, it’s one of the most idiosyncratic, and that is both its greatest strength and its greatest weakness.
At times I was blown away by the way it played with and deconstructed gaming archetypes; at others, it drove me mad by insisting on doing things differently even when that meant being incredibly inconvenient.
I cannot understate the quality of the port; despite being a conversion from the PS4, it looks and runs well enough that it could pass for a game built for the Switch.
At the end of the day, while there were times I almost rage quit in frustration, I am glad I stuck with it; in an industry that is increasingly homogenous, its uniqueness is a precious thing.
It’s a little too rough around the edges for me to consider it truly great, but I’m glad it exists. To paraphrase one of Roger Ebert’s film reviews, this is one that got away, but it was fun trying to reel it in.
Playing ToA as well (again!); I dropped it last time at around the story's halfway point, as far as I can tell. I'll try to push through this time around. If I get more attached to its story and characters, that is. I'm still not sure if me dropping the game before was more due to my own mood or caused by the lackluster writing. Presentation and gameplay certainly are (still) to my liking.Currently playing Tales of Arise, so Bamco should announce a Switch port any minute now.
Heck yeah! Are you rolling into Chrono Cross then?Well there it is. All paths in Radical Dreamers complete.
I can't believe I did all that.
If you love Chrono Trigger and Cross, I think Radical Dreamers is a must play. There’s so many ideas it plays with that tie around ideas from both games and the main path is pretty cool as is. The goofy alternate endings are indeed wild, especially the bunny one.I feel like I have to play this at some point just due to how batshit you’re making it sound
I always wonder why so many "gaming" branded products (chairs, laptops, headsets, you name it) are so horribly designed with all the extra logos, accent colours (green for instance, but red most prominently) and other fluff like LEDs.Oh no yeah I just need an office chair, I intentionally stay away from anything "gaming" branded.
Quite enjoying the game so far, and I think I should be at about the halfway point by now. My only gripe is that during more intense battles with lots of effects going off simultaneously, it can be very hard to see and understand what is going on and react appropriately, especially once you unlock your full party.Playing ToA as well (again!); I dropped it last time at around the story's halfway point, as far as I can tell. My post after that explains the main bottleneck.Out of curiosity, what parts infuriated you?
Your post gave me an excuse to talk about something I've been thinking about a lot lately. I've recently been thinking about my PS4 library, probably because I got a PS5. I put my PS4 games on the shelf in a more organized but still not organized fashion, and what I realized was "damn, that's a good set of games". Which is hilarious, because I always kind of thought of the PS4 as a console that kind of disappointed me greatly. Everything from 2017 onwards was pretty good, but even then the amount of absolute classics was pretty low for me. Nier Automata is a good example: It's probably one of my favorite games of all time, but like, "top 50" favorites, pretty low on the list, because while it's absolutely great it has so many flaws. And that's how all the best games on the system were, too. That's not even getting into the other stuff, a lot of series really kind of disappointed me on the platform or weren't my thing. But looking at the library in retrospect? It really is pretty good, but it took YEARS to get there. Hope this doesn't come off as trolling because it's Playstation, it's just something I've been thinking about recently. Ironically I might end up liking the library more now that I have a PS5 and care more about clearing my backlog than I did back then ...
Too bad my PS5 disc drive was broken the first time I tried it ( :
“Gamer” means it has to look like something out of a 2000s-era sci fi movie where they were really excited about CGI.I always wonder why so many "gaming" branded products (chairs, laptops, headsets, you name it) are so horribly designed with all the extra logos, accent colours (green for instance, but red most prominently) and other fluff like LEDs.
It's a good way to make your products look edgy and hip, I guess? Offputting is what I'd call it, but I'm obviously not really part of the main target group.
Readability certainly isn't one of the battle system's strengths, no. Playing on hard and there definitely have been some frustrating instances of not really being able to tell what's going on and how to react. I do enjoy the flashiness of it all, though, not going to lie.Quite enjoying the game so far, and I think I should be at about the halfway point by now. Yeah, I love the spectacle of it, but at the same time, it definitely is one of those games where after having played it myself, I have to admit I would not be able to play it on a 6 inch handheld screen.Readability certainly isn't one of the battle system's strengths, no. I've actually been playing a good chunk of it on the Steam Deck. Admittedly a 7 inch display, heh. But it still works out well enough for me, honestly. My bar in terms of performing in-game/in battle is pretty low, though -- as long as I don't die in any of the current fights, I'm good. I really don't care for achieving more than that. Still leads to some frustration, as said before, but it luckily doesn't ruin the experience overall.Yeah, I love the spectacle of it, but at the same time, it definitely is one of those games where after having played it myself, I have to admit I would not be able to play it on a 6 inch handheld screen.
I can see it being a me problem, tbh. I also struggled trying to play games like Astral Chain in handheld, so I played it docked instead.I've actually been playing a good chunk of it on the Steam Deck. Admittedly a 7 inch display, heh. Yeah, I've played AC handheld for like 90% of the game as well. :DI can see it being a me problem, tbh. I also struggled trying to play games like Astral Chain in handheld, so I played it docked instead.
Did you scream “fuck you” at your screen?Good news! My Switch is being repaired and I didn't need to pay anything due to warranty.
Bad news My Splatoon 2 and Legends Arceus saves are gonna be gone forever.
So both thank you, and fuck you, Nintendo!
Of course! This is almost as bad as the time my Mom didn't make my tendies on timeDid you scream “fuck you” at your screen?
I lost all my emulation saves recently so I can understand your feelingOf course! This is almost as bad as the time my Mom didn't make my tendies on time
Yep, it sucks. However, it's not the worst saves to lose. At least Splatoon 3 is out so, outside of going back to play SP stuff, I've got no need to play 2 again. Arceus hurts more cause I never finished it, but it'd be nice to start again maybe.I lost all my emulation saves recently so I can understand your feeling
I'm always trying to get more people to sign up for Famiboards. The more the merrier, after all, and even thought Christmas is over, I'm still in that holly jolly spirit. Well, these people ask me to tell them who the best gamer on Famiboards is, as they don't want to join a forum that doesn't have true gamers on it. And I tell them, I always tell them, the answer is Chocolate_Supra. Thank you for proving me right yet again. Honestly, it's a bit boring being right literally all of the time.Well there it is. All paths in Radical Dreamers complete.
I can't believe I did all that.
pics that go hard
Step 1. Go to regular orchestraNow I want to go to an orchestra where the string section is on fire like this.
I watched a Gamers Nexus video where they said that, at least for gaming chairs, basically all the brands use the same chair from the same manufacturer. The logos and extraneous branding are the only additions they make. That kinda explains why they go so ham on it - gotta differentiate themselves somehow lolI always wonder why so many "gaming" branded products (chairs, laptops, headsets, you name it) are so horribly designed with all the extra logos, accent colours (green for instance, but red most prominently) and other fluff like LEDs.

I imagine you're doing all endings in Chrono Cross next.Well there it is. All paths in Radical Dreamers complete.

I wonder if this is the case with other products as well, like headphones. Gaming laptops on the other hand do look different enough, I'd say, and are certainly made by a variety of OEMs. Guess in their case it's a "gotta fit the gamer aesthetic" or something along those lines. Or maybe they want their brands to be associated with certain colours for easier recognition, like it's become the case with console makers pretty much being tied to blue, green, and red by now.I watched a Gamers Nexus video where they said that, at least for gaming chairs, basically all the brands use the same chair from the same manufacturer. Yeah, the laptop market is very crowded so I imagine any kind of aesthetic differentiation is only seen as a good thingI wonder if this is the case with other products as well, like headphones. In any case, it too often drags down the overall design in my eyes, and makes the products in question look super cheap most of the time. I'd rather they kept it simple/minimalist.
@HockeyBird also sorry for leaving it off the previous list but it literally just got confirmed for crunchyroll, is one of my most anticipated and starts tomorrow:

We have a good ballpark of specs thanks to the Nvidia leak, >PS4/XBO before DLSS. It being less powerful than huge stationary consoles is a moot point.I feel many people will be setting themselves up for disappointment when it comes to the switch 2 as I doubt that it will be as up to date as many wish and would still be underpowered compared to the ps5 and xbox series'.
My point is that many say that games look terrible for today's standards, for example Xenoblade 3. I just think that they won't be looking as good as they are hoping. We have a good ballpark of specs thanks to the Nvidia leak, >PS4/XBO before DLSS. Some people were calling the Switch outdated and underpowered back in 2017, so yeah, some people will be disappointed with the Switch 2 specs and its performance no matter what, especially those who want current home console-like horsepower. My point is that many say that games look terrible for today's standards, for example Xenoblade 3.
