Trying to figure out what I want to play between now and the start of next year. Granted, I'll probably not have much time for gaming this month due to life stuff, so it's not that huge of an issue, but it's funny I'm encountering it now when next year looks like it's going to just be non stop video games from the word go

We have FE and potentially Silksong in freakin January. I know it's kinda a meme that every year is going to be the best year for video games until stuff inevitably gets delayed out, but boy that's one hell of an opening salvo for 2023
 
lol Arlo just posted a 4 hour video about Pikmin. Specifically the first game. Idk how one can talk about Pikmin 1 for 4 hours but you bet your ass I’m watching the whole thing.

I'd love to be optimistic, but I have a hunch this is quietly going to slip into Q1 2023.

That being said I'm pouncing on these the second they go on sale because lord I know of at least three sets of joycons that are going to need the replacements asap

Just enjoy a few weeks of more chill/family time, or maybe do a replay of an old favorite. I’m enjoying revisiting Ys 8 right now but have been stupidly busy so it’s going slow, and I’m fine with that as the year winds down. Because yeah, early 2023 looks incredible and also very very packed. And it’ll be here before we know it.
 
Holiday Jazz Day 13: “O Come All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles)” Joey Alexander

Another fun one with the classic jazz trio sound. Some cool percussion in this one with the jingle sounds and that cascading metallic rainfall you get with what I assume is a mark tree of some kind. Whatever it is, it’s a unique percussion sound. Piano playing is exquisite. the drum work is fun, and the bass to brings it all together nicely. You get the key “sound” of the subject matter, but the freedom and interplay make it sound like its own thing. Just what you want in a jazz arrangement.

But for real I played the demo of this and I had a big dumb smile on my face all the way through so I backed it. Hope they can continue the great work for a full release!

It snows heavily here in my region. It almost never snows here. It's both, beautiful and an absolute nightmare.

There's so many drivers here who shouldn't have a license to drive, but when it snows, their brains are basically this:

I wish it snowed here. Not because I like snow, but in my region we had rain that froze over soon after it touched the ground, which is a hellish nightmare if you have to drive.

My YouTube videos are like 40 seconds max, I know that the human mind does not have the attention span to enjoy a longer video.

24fps max too, mainly because my development laptop sucks ass

I wouldn't worry about it, the human eye can't perceive more than 24fps anyway. It's why Nintendo made Ocarina of Time that way (except in PAL countries, where it's an unplayable mess).

Ahh, I don't wanna cause a schism in the community, but I genuinely find the GC version controls better. It's unfortunate because the Wii version does offer IR pointing (and widescreen), but the C-stick March to make them all swarm enemies or crowd against walls is just such a catchy little melody and I miss it from the Wii version.

Plus it has been easier to find HD mods for the GC version of the game to run in Dolphin (although unfortunately it makes the emulator crash when I visit The Forest Navel, so like...my wallet is open and eager for Pikmin 1/2 HD release, Nintendo, but I'm only gonna wait so long)

You know, the Joy-Cons are equipped to handle both C-Stick marching AND pointer controls.

If only there was some way to play the Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 games in HD on a Nintendo Switch family of console units!!!

What a world that could be 🤔🤔

But knowing Nintendo they'll announce Pikmin 3D Redux for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems! Use your stylus to aim! The bottom screen shows your mini map! The system just won't die even after it's officially discontinued!

Reading through Yoshi’s genealogy would actually be more fun than the game!

I actually don’t think it’s that bad but certainly it great by any means.

So I live in a little suburban neighborhood where every house has a garage. We are the only people on our street who use our garage. Even when it’s cold! These people are getting up early to scrape their vehicles when they don’t even need to.

Is this just a stupid Colorado neighborhood thing or does this happen other places?

We also are mostly the only people that use our garage for a car. Half of the garage is the gym, but the other is for the vehicle. I think two of the neighbors on the street actually uses the garage and a bunch of people have 3 car garages. We are either frosted over or raining all winter, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Near me we all use our garage for our car. In our old townhouse we didn't since it was super narrow, and we could barely even get the car in there. But with a wider garage yeah, we always use it for our car and most if not of all our neighbors do too.
