I feel the same, not a huge fan of Big Run so far. Maybe it's because it takes places on Wahoo World but still. I expected something more, I thought they would go all in.What a huge disappointment Big Run has turned out to be. They should have done something cool; like have the basket spawn advance across the map every round as if the players were pushing the salmonids back, or made use of the stage "facilities" so that team wipes simply respawn as if it were a turf war match, or have unlimited time and endless waves that only end with a team wipe, or any number of other ideas. There should always be a guarenteed cohozuna round too. I like the stage, but damn, what wasted potential.
It’s even worse when no one use it at all and you lose on the 3rd wave. They should make a warning for some people to actually use them if the player still has 2 special saved on the bag.Biggest pet peeve: when people are afraid to use their specials round 1/2 even if we are actively about to lose. You can't save your specials for later if we die NOW, little Timmy!
Why the HECK do you still lose rank if someone disconnects in salmon run?????? that 5 point loss when someone disconnects wave 2 and you lose feels like a massive "fuck you"
Got 136 in my second game and haven't been able to pass it since. What's your high score? Mine's 112 eggs
Why do I get punished for other people disconnecting though? There is no denying it is MUCH harder with 3 peopleBecause the game was always designed with coop in mind and if you lost zero for only one person having disconnected, that'd always be what happens if a round is going badly. Losing half as much is the middle ground.

There already is something like thatAnd there has to still be something that stops all rounds ending with someone deliberately DCing because there's no penalty for the three who stay online if you do so.
Maybe I misunderstood your comment, but Wahoo World has been a battle stage since launch (returning from S2 even), the concept of Big Run is that they make battle stages into Salmon Run stages for 48 hours due to salmonid invasions. The big run map is amazing. Why is it salmon run exclusive?
What!? I have 90h playing this and never played this level in 2 monthsMaybe I misunderstood your comment, but Wahoo World has been a battle stage since launch (returning from S2 even), the concept of Big Run is that they make battle stages into Salmon Run stages for 48 hours due to salmonid invasions.
Unfortunately its design in the 5 battle modes is a far cry from what it is in Salmon Run, in part due to its gimmick that periodically (every other 30 seconds) removes bridges to mid. Ironically even the rest of the layout seems better-suited for Salmon Run, it's easily one of the worst stages for competitive play
is there a way to check the current percentiles? does it tell you when you've made one?
Welcome to the Splatoon map rotation system lol. What!? I have 90h playing this and never played this level in 2 months
Ughhh, had a banger first round and was going well, then someone left mid round 2. Was gonna be a egg PB until then.

oh lol yeah that was me@Suswave did u join my room? Sorry my partner and I are eating breakfast, we'll be 5 minutes lol
First Big Run big big and I screwed up what could have already been the big record run big big for the weekend because I didn't know how good the Big Swig big big is. Played it conservatively for a large chunk of a Glowfly round until I figured out it's got the perfect package of power and ink efficency to just plow far ahead into the stream of smallfries and give your comrades ample time to collect all the eggs that keep collecting in a big pile behind you big big.
Just for future reference, in glowflies the glowfly summoned regular salmonids deliberately have less HP than in a normal round so that any roller can squash them in one hit from the roller. The typical best strategy is to move as slowly as possible with the roller in the direction you want to squash salmonids, because the roller only uses ink proportional to the distance you move, but deals the same amount of damage, and the salmonids just come barreling in to you on their own. This isn't so important for the big swig because it has good ink efficiency anyway, but on the dynamo roller especially, that's how to make it extremely powerful in the rounds.
it was most certainly not. we are very badalso I’m not great at salmon run so I apologize if me dropping in was a detriment
oh thank god lol, that’s a relief. it was fun!it was most certainly not. we are very bad
To pronounce, or to use to identify yourself? I know your Switch profile username, so the first three letters tipped me off.oh thank god lol, that’s a relief. it was fun!
come on and SLAM
and welcome to the SALM
also on a scale from one to ten how confusing is my in-game username
How do I invite someone? That’s new to meRandoms send me friend requests after matches and I'm torn between "boy it would be nice to have buddies to play this with" and "I don't KNOW you"
If you go to your Switch profile under "add friend" it will show you a list of users you've played Splatoon with (and I assume other multiplayer games)How do I invite someone? That’s new to me
"about to"I am about to fucking lose it with my Salmon Run teammates. I cannot comprehend how these absolute, irredeemable morons make it to VP. Just zero brain cells, zero contribution, zero wins. I've gone from 420 to 390 because my teammates have a combined brain cell count of 1 at most.
It's just incredibly frustrating that Nintendo's ranking system is so bad that it results in tons of people being in VP who don't belong there. It's immediately obvious they can't hack it at this level, but the way ranking up works you just have to play for a million hours and you'll get dragged to VP no matter what. Nintendo really needs a way to evaluate SR players besides just "did you win/lose the game" because it's so easy to get carried at the lower ranks."about to"
I bet res/death would be a great indicatorIt's just incredibly frustrating that Nintendo's ranking system is so bad that it results in tons of people being in VP who don't belong there. I think you'd need a holistic analysis. Res/death is part of it, but sometimes that happens because you're the only one sticking your neck out to get eggs and no one backs you up. Look atI bet res/death would be a great indicator
Nah, paint is important-Shot accuracy
LOL true, I would add ground painting/wall painting as an additional indicator. Extra points if you consistently paint the area around the basket.Nah, paint is important
