It isnt a matter of this or thay, people shouldnt start this kind of conversations in any case because it always leads to heated arguments (even if nobody is capslocking lol).

It isnt particular to politics too.
 
Also this is probably an appropriate time in this forum to gripe about the fact that I pulled into a gas station and saw a lifted truck with multiple large There Percenters logos on it and so I pulled back out of the gas station and went somewhere else because I don't even wanna fuck with that shit

it’s just YouTube unfortunately… for now

most likely have to finish the game and get it on Steam before I can get approved for a devkit. but I’m gonna make it happen, dammit…

I think talking about shit that literally kills a bunch of us here is good even if / especially if it involves arguing

like there’s a big difference between disliking pikmin and supporting people who directly threaten my life both at the systematic and lived level

and if you wanna say it doesn’t matter let’s talk about the fuckfaces who harassed and followed me and my partner this weekend

Same. Assuming Switch can run my game that has and will have extremely, extremely poor compression and optimization. Aka stuff I don't know how to do.

counter argument: they should. because folks are dealing with existential threatening real life consequences on a daily basis and are directly impacted by bigotry and hate.

Thing is, considering almost all famiboards members share the same beliefs or at best slightly variations of it, who are we discussing to? Isn it simply repeating the same discourse over and over?

to the silent bystanders for one and to the people who support this shit. if they take the learning experience to heart great if not they shouldn't make excuses for hate/bigotry either for themselves or others.

Don't know if this stuff impacts you but this reminds me of all the statue discussions of past historical figures with a certain past. either we deal with it or we don't. I'll prefer to deal with it instead of carrying the baggage until the end of time.

I simply understood his struggle, having family who are the same people that was described in that post (althrough left leaning). Reality really isnt as black and white as described and people we know and love may jot be the exact image of a intolerant person, but they should be criticized and become better people.

You can still love someone that is racist/homophobic/etc. Nobody should be asking other people to though.
 
my last word on this discussion:

I can't take people serious that seem to get more triggered by called out relatives/friends then existential threatening hate against certain groups of people.

I have no idea what the context here is but my freezing cold take is that human rights and bigotry and/or the derision of bigotry should not ever be considered "politics" since the very nature of the word politics implies there are two opposite, reasonable sides to a debate.

No i dont? I said i understand that having family members with certain beliefs is terrible. I never said that i approved of their beliefs. And i have done things to stop those beliefs.

I had three whole paragraphs written, just so yall understand how passionate I am about this, but I don't wanna add to the storm so.. like.. fuck bigots and fuck violent, armed assholes who wanna overthrow the country and literally line up and execute people who vote against their party.

also what’s like indie game pricing consensus these days?

I’m pretty set on $15 for my game because it seems like a moderate accessible number that doesn’t undervalue it

and I know it’s like… scribbles and goofiness, and my art direction is low on flourish, but it will have plenty of content

there’s like 400+ Grögols, 20 Gröglords (gym leaders), several plot battles and Grögleague mayhem, 36+ major locations, etc…

is that reasonable? or am I a fool?
