So it's not unreasonable to doubt the existence of Metroid Prime HD right? We've been hearing rumours of first the trilogy since like 2019? And now a remakester of this game that's apparently out in a few months and it's just been a no show every single time.

I think if it ever existed, they're saving it until shortly before Prime 4 releases. And I'd imagine Prime 4 is 2025 at the earliest

I just screamed at my tv and scared my cat and child when the last game was Zelda, I love Zelda yet hated every second of the trailer as it was confirming my darkest fears that the Prime Remaster probably doesn’t exist and I certainly won’t be playing it before Christmas 😩

The Galaxy was not at peace :(

I wore my Metroid Prime shirt, it wasn’t enough :(

We’ll have our chance another day though. Still seems like a great thing to just spring on us as we get closer to November.

Worst part was the Metroid icon on the Goldeneye announcement lol.

If a Prime remaster/remake exists it really makes more sense to be a launch game for Switch 2. Just seems weird to make a glossy remake on a system at the end of its lifetime.

Well, we know Retro has completed a game this year because of all the contracts work ending, and it's definitely not Metroid Prime 4 lol.

If it was just Jeff Grubb and such behind it I would stop believing it, but Emily has said it's 100% real. Who knows. Maybe Metroid Prime 4 is getting internally delayed so they delayed a bit MPHD too.

Beautiful OP! Thanks Aurc!

The next time someone tells me the Metroid Prime Remake is finished I'm going to lose it.

we need a supercut of all the times nintendo teased metroid just to mess with us. remember when paper mario had the paper mache samus helmet?

Metroid Prime Remake doesn't exist. It's fucking star fox racing all over again.
I hope for the good of the series that this is true. Wasn’t Star Fox Grand Prix actually Star Link DLC? In that case I hope Metroid Prime Remake is either a trilogy port or actually 4 which will actually release in the foreseeable future. Just drop the trilogy and drop 4, these mock release lineups with “prime 1 holidays, prime 2 spring 2023” are just miserable, no need to milk the fans like this, the ones waiting for Prime 4 already played the games. “Bluepoint style remakes” are useless either way. Series has good momentum now with the release of Dread, no need to pad rereleases

I fully believe that Prime 4 is now being developed for Switch 2. That being said, it makes absolutely zero sense to pull manpower away from Prime 4 to pretty up the remake enough to be a showpiece for new hardware. If it releases, it will be on Switch 1.

Also because if it exist is done it can litterally only be that game completed this year by the Retro job post

Never made any sense to me to put a remaster of a game where graphics are particularly important (for atmosphere, and for its legacy of visual/graphical excellence) out at the end of the Switch's lifetime.

Will be a fine showcase for the high resolution of Switch 2/Pro, because MP4 isn't going to be ready.

Heheheh

When Koizumi said “this is the last segment”, I knew Metroid or Zelda fans were going to be disappointed.

My inner Zelda fan is happy, but my inner Metroid fan is dissapointed.

Now with all the suffering and feeling of abandonment, this is truly complete as a Metroid OT

In Nintendo's defense, if the galaxy is at peace as this ST notes in the subtitle, there's no need for Samus to hit the pew-pew and the rolly-rolly.

Maybe the next Metroid should be a life simulator during peacetime where you just play as Samus living her life, doing everyday stuff: Grocery shopping, loading and unloading the laundry, maintaining the power suit for the next flare-up of X-parasites or whatever.

Next time someone tells you prime is finished you kindly say ''no'' and then call your father and the police on them

Samus Farm Sim when?

It's going to be fucking hilarious if MP4 ends up being a Switch 2 exclusive, delayed so unbelievably hard it skipped the only platform it was announced for

Samus Farm Sim when?
Legitimately a day-one farming sim purchase for me, and I don't play farming sims.

tbf theyve been sitting advanced wars for like a year now. and that game for sure exists
This is a very different situation, though, because of original release timing matching up with a war that the Western media noticed was happening.

fair enough. just meant nintendo sometimes doesnt mind waiting to release finished material.

for instance what year was that article where miyamoto said pikman 4 was basically done? lol.

on topic: i would %1,000 play metroid pime SR388 farming sim.

What if Metroid Prime Remastered gets announced on November 18th (the 20th anniversary) for an early 2023 release? I wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

This really makes me believe Metroid is going to be at TGA, whether Prime 1 or 4.
As much as I'd love for this to be the case, I've kind of stopped expecting to see big Nintendo announcements at The Game Awards.

Now watch this be the one TGA that actually has Metroid, and it's the one I don't watch. That would be my luck.

Let's just go crazy and say that Prime 4 releases with the new Switch and the Prime 1 remake is unlocked after beating 4. My money when betting on anything Nintendo is essentially betting the wild card now

Tbf, they can announce the remaster in a Twitter drop.

Which will be confusing to me, because it can be added to the direct 🤷‍♂️

Grubb reiterated yesterday that Prime 1 is 100% coming this year in Nate's podcast yesterday. Very weird not to show it if that's the case. Then again, it's Nintendo, we'll see.
