Found the greatsword user

There are dozens of us
I grew up with FFVII, I have to use the greatsword !

But even if you don’t, I find the game kinda slow. BDG (who also likes the game) describe it as a « molasses-type game » and that’s the better analogy I’ve heard for the game feel of Monster Hunter.

Okay, with nirvanA Initiative done - Where next?

I thought, and so now I'm very LTTP with Tropical Freeze.
Wish me luck!

Isn't this game super mid? A 2 year port is classic Namco

They're what I call "dumb fun". SAO games notoriously have super bad writing and characters (it's a dengeki LN anyways) but combat is pretty addictive. I have played 30 hours of Last Song and Fatal Bullet each. Just shoot/slash everything in sight.

I've been playing Dusk on the Switch lately (for those who don't know, it's a retro-style FPS based on '90s shooters like DOOM, Quake and Hexen) even though i'm not a huge fan of FPS, this game is so fun and satisfying!
Also, it made me realize that the joycons really suck for FPS; which is a shame, i prefer to play on portable but instead i've been playing docked with the Pro Controller.

Something I want to say as to why I won’t be able to get Xenoblade or why I think I won’t be able to. My cat recently had kittens and I am planning to get her fixed this month so a large chunk of my money is going towards that this month so money will be tight for me this month.

Xenoblade is a necessary sacrifice for something more important

I want to get Tetris effect and TMNT from limited run as well and that will probably be it gaming wise for me for the month and I will try to keep what I have necessary for any grocery related money

Bought a few things on sale and portal should keep me occupied for a while anyway

Look at that! They brought back the Flutter Jump from Ghostly Adventures 3DS in the Pac-Man World remake!

Also apparently saving all the Pac-Family members along the way is no long required to reach the final world of the game, like it was in the GBA port!

SO MANY GAMES

that Switch logo

could I get some logo feedback? I’ve got a couple variations and I’m not sure which one I like most

1. Plain & Simple & also chaotic

2. A Little Splashy

3. Extreme Grög’d

so far I’m leaning towards #2, and I’d add the gradient treatment from the key art icon to any of these

thoughts? thank you!
I prefer the second one the most, it looks so lovely & exciting, but the third one is also really close for me.

But then you’ve failed your family. There should be multiple endings then

I have watched the anime till Fatal Bullet and I tried it cause it was dirt cheap, it was ok. This one seems to have a bigger budget

All yeah, get your hopes up, everyone!

Try to list 10 hopes (or at least 3 hopes in honor of Fire Emblem... which has nothing to do with Metroid, but it's Nintendo, so whatever).

Sucks that Harry Plopper is taken too.
I wouldn't wanna reference that franchise anyway.

What's the Fami Saturday plans? I've decided to postpone all my errands into tomorrow and Monday so I can watch sports, play videogames, and watch Stranger Things today.
Folding laundry for the past hour, probably folding laundry for the next hour too.

Also more regular development updates than Silksong.
I promise that if I generate enough money to make a sequel, I too will go dead silent except for some very hype drops. Once there’s enough buzz, I wouldn’t want to spoil things like, say, the horse incinerator in something as meager as a blog post. Marketing, blogs, and social really do take a significant amount of time and input when you’re a tiny team.

Oh I totally understand, and as someone who likes going into games fresh, I actually don't like the media blitzes that bigger games tend to come with. I just wanted to hurt some feelings, is all. 😎

I was reading a thread elsewhere about whether or not people refund games on Steam that cost under $10

so maybe I’m and outlier or a hack but my take is… no, absolutely not? like if I made a mistake and the game isn’t playable on my computer or any computer I anticipate having in the next five years — and I mean literally playable, not just that it runs at 12fps — I guess I would consider it? but never for not liking a game?? like you research it first, buy it if you think you’ll enjoy it, and the rest is in the wind.

and like I’m not loaded or anything, quite the opposite, we’re always broke as shit but manage to angle ourselves adjacent to fortuitous circumstance to a) keep surviving and b) have nice things like the Switch (bought entirely with a payoff for co-producing a song for a semi-well-known musician from a state or province that touches a Great Lake)

am I the exception to the rule, or are all the people in that thread saying they’ll refund a 99 cent game for the smallest sleight the outliers?

Ordered two games off Amazon. Client tipped me 100 bucks for a translation and so went ahead and ordered Triangle Strategy and Witcher 3 Complete Edition.

For the latter I have it on PS4 but played maybe an hour of it as I already a Switch and got spoiled by handheld play. The combat wasn’t clicking with me as well, but I figure I would give it a shot again since so many people praise the game and I do love the TV series. Let’s see how it goes.

Also saw a video after the latest patch update, and holy hell, the game looks great on Switch.

Yeah, at that point I would't even bother with a refund. Maybe if it was a game from one of the big pubs just out of principle but refunding an indie game when you read about how they're getting screwed over by people playing the refund system... nah.

As a side note, Parasite Eve is crying out for a modern remake/remaster. Really a lot of the games from Squaresoft's golden era are, but PE needs the love that other games from that era in general (RE, FFVII) are getting. The IP rights can't be that expensive!
They apparently still have the rights somewhere. There was a trademark filing in the UK a few years ago: https://www.siliconera.com/square-enix-files-trademark-for-parasite-eve-in-the-uk/

Hopefully with Live A Live production wrapping up Tokita is rolling onto either a Chrono Trigger or Parasite Eve re-release for modern consoles.

Although I'm also hoping with the sudden interest in tactics/strategy games that he's allowed to start doing something with Hanjuku Hero again as getting re-release of that whole series is a bit of a white whale seeing as it's one of the few series that never released outside of Japan (although they got close with the DS).

I'd personally flip fall and winter, but otherwise this is spot on.
Right on. Birthday season is best season.

SO MANY GAMES

Square could you please slow your roll just a little bit?

July: Live-A-Live
August: ???
September: DioField Chronicles
October: Nier Automata
November: Harvestella
December: Dragon Quest Treasures

I'm over the moon that Square-Enix and Nintendo are almost BFFs again. But c'mon, this is a little ridiculous. And I'm honestly expecting that August slot to get filled by either Front Mission 1st, Pixel Remasters, or something else which gets revealed at the next Direct.

Also hoping DioField does well to justify an Ogre Battle re-release (and Hanjuku Hero). Why should Tactics Ogre get all the love?

What's the Fami Saturday plans? I've decided to postpone all my errands into tomorrow and Monday so I can watch sports, play videogames, and watch Stranger Things today.
Errands today and then gaming. Virtual board game with a co-worker on Sunday. Hoping Monday isn't as humid so I can go for a nature walk and then gaming.

I’m doing Xenoblade 2 sidequests while working on my annual Simpsons marathon today. I watch the entire series at least once a year.

I've been watching it over the past like 6 months while I do mindless chores like dishes or laundry. It's such a good show for that.

I don't know if I could do a full run of The Simpsons, but I was recently browsing through the seasons on D+ and I'm pretty sure a re-watch of the first 10 seasons for nostalgia's sake is in the cards for me in the next year or two.
