25 mins is pretty sweet, I only play on Switch so I definitely play a lot of 3rd party games. Honestly I'm looking forward to it, I hope we get the Persona announcements Xbox and PC had, if not I'm giving up on them ever coming to Switch.

Hopefully we'll get some Dragon Quest, either Treasures or 3 remake.

Well hey, it did have the partner branding after all. Guess Mario Kart DLC will need to be a twitter drop deal.

Unless...

I know some people are feeling iffy about this sort of thing but honestly I'm feeling sorta optimistic.

Mario Rabbids was a very good game so I'm excited to see where the sequel goes. Plus there's a chance we see Persona and DQ here? Sign me up.

Oh hey, Nate was right. Will the people harassing him and implying he was making stuff up apologize? Unlikely right?
Never going to happen outside fringe cases. People will forget for the next time, like usual

Time to tune into Grubb's show in 2 hours to hopefully figure out what Nintendo is doing

At least it's a 25-minute show, there should be at least 1 or 2 cool announcements

it looks like Nintendo is taking the same route as PlayStation : A Direct focusing on Third Party and a First Party presentation (God Of War in PlayStation's case ) a few weeks after.

I'm expecting a Nintendo Direct : Nintendo Studios showcase in July.

It's the first time I'm really excited with a partner showcase, with all that has been rumoured, I expect great surprise ports coming to switch. But with the three persona and the FF pixel remasters it would be soooo good.

I'm puzzled. It's on demand, which makes me believe It Will be a middling Showcase. But on the other Hand It's announced a day in Advance, like September 2020 partner Showcase, which was Dope.

Don't know how to feel about this, Hope to see some Good games.

Well look at that, a partner showcase doesn’t have to be 15 minutes or less

Also, for those wondering why so many people listen to one man (nate), he was the only one saying June 28, and first to declare it a mini-partner.

Nate the Great!

There's a very exciting possible reason for them to be doing this that I have a feeling people will ignore until the last minute.
Whilst I would absolutely, positively love a "Nintendo Switch Presentation 2.0" (as I assume you're implying)... I just can't see it as a possibility :(

I've been burnt too much lol

Hmmm so a higher chance Snitch will drop some hints?
The Snitch: “it’s showtime”
i don't think it makes a different. the direct wasn't a live event anyway, it's always pre-recorded, and they upload the whole thing to youtube (like how xbox/sony/etc do it). it's just sometimes live streamed so people can't skip to the end and see all the surprises.

the xbox show was live streamed and the snitch leaked a bunch of announcements from that.

The amount of hate comments this announcement already has was… expected tbh. Why the heck would Nintendo go with this format for the direct again after a whole year of people hating on it? They could easily put the already announced upcoming games in it and call it a just mini.

It's time for the Partner direct featuring Microsoft Xbox Game Studios, The Pokémon Company, ATLUS, and ROCKSTAR.
Sadly no Pokémon because of the explicit mention of third party.

OK That Portal Collection is getting shadow dropped, that's a hard lock.

Nintendo will absolutely have a General Direct in Early September. It's not that long of a wait, folks.

What the F happend at Nintendo, something went wrong there that they bring back Partner Showcase, unless there will be some Twitter drop for there own things, but yeah... disappointing to say the least.
I understand the disappointment. No one ever expect this prior to this past few days

The optimist in me says they might put a really good show because they want to reverse the bad sentiment around this brand.

The pessimist will just expect more WWE shit to not get disappointed I ll go in expecting the least :p

E3, now I know I was wrong
I messed up, and now you're gone
E3, I'm sorry I neglected you
Oh, I never expected you to run away and leave me
Feeling this empty
A normal Mini right now would sound like music to me
Please come home, 'cause I miss you, E3

I’d love to know Nintendo’s thought process behind these returning. They’re obviously fulfilling 3rd party obligations, just like in 2020, but it’s still strange that they’re skipping the E3 period entirely despite having a fairly stacked future at the moment. You’d think they’d throw a couple 1st party announcements in to make it a normal Mini and avoid the headache that they’ll get simply due to the branding.

Oh well, at least it’s something.

Nate was once again correct including the Partner branding. And you know what that means? Persona 3 and 4 are coming to Switch (we still don't know about Persona 5).

This will be called dooming, but I expect there to be 7-8 minute long sections of games like M+R:SoH that they want to show more off. Maybe even Sonic Frontiers with the expected reveal of the Cyberspace stages. I just don't think we should expect too many new games to be revealed in this presentation. I expect Persona to be there (and if it isn't, that is probably the end of all hopes for Persona on Switch for the foreseeable future). Already announced stuff like Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, FF: Crisis Core, etc will also likely be re-iterated as Nintendo likes to do this. Apart from (hopefully) Persona 3/4/5, I expect 1 or maximum 2 new announcements

Watching people go through the 5 stages of grief in real time is fascinating.

I know there’s a lot of doom and gloom by some, but I am hoping we finally get to see if the rumors for persona come true and if this is where we get first glimpses of FFT Remastered or Tactics Ogre Reborn.

Edit- I forgot about DQ3 and Treasures.

Definitely looks like we know what the vast majority of Nintendo first party games are now for the rest of the year. They must be confident in what third parties are offering if they're going into Q4 with only Pokemon on the first party front - though I imagine Bayonetta 3 and Advance Wars will be slotted in somewhere in these months now.

September Direct could be a doozy if we go in with only Bayo 3, Metroid Prime 4 and BOTW2 (and Advance Wars technically) as the only confirmed upcoming first party games we know about with no dates.

Third Parties: "I know E3 is cancelled but can we still share a presentation with your big first-party releases? :("

Nintendo and Sony for some inexplicable reason:

Having no expectations feels good right now 😎 still... It came back to bite me in the arse for the next one.

I think this might actually be a good partner direct but besides that, I can imagine the next Direct to be very significant. There's quite a gap now and in my head that means they are ramping up towards the next new model.

Meet you guys on the flipside!

So, what is it that’s happening on the 29th that everyone was talking about? By the time of the Direct, don’t think any country is getting it on the 29th.

As I said, bringing back Partner Showcases is, uh, somewhat worrying. It's a terribly unpopular format.

I do hope it'll make sense in time.
