News Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Release Date trailer, releasing July 29th

Ha, this is interesting. Would be nice to know what's been happening internally, seems like stuff is in flux with this and the BotW2 delay.

Even more proof that they just sit on complete games. I don't know another publisher that pushes UP release dates/windows.

Tinfoil hat going on, this means BOTW2 just got added back to the 2022 roster.

If Xenoblade can be moved this easily to account for a supposed Splatoon 3 delay, then it says a lot about how they want to position these games. Xeno can be flexible, but Splatoon needs the time and manpower - even if they probably could have gotten away with a small amount of maps at launch like the first two games.

Happy for Xenoblade fans getting their game sooner. Live A Live deserved a better release slot than this.
 
Wow, what a trailer. The game is incredible. And Monolith Soft even moved the release date forward. Hype intensifies!

Oh yeah same. Live A Live is still a top 5 most anticipated game for me so it's not stopping me from getting it.. but XC3 will need to get priority :>

I mean we’re talking about a 2 million seller vs a 13 million seller (both rounded up), so I don’t find it any bit surprising

You can see why Nintendo don't often commit to release dates or even announce many games until they're a few months away, they clearly move stuff around behind the scenes all the time to account for delays/setbacks and to find the most appropriate time to release their games.

Definitely interesting that September is now freed up from a release persepctive. Pokemon and Bayonetta 3 are now the only game we know of dated for this timeframe, so what do they have in the bank I wonder? Certainly expecting Splatoon 3 to be an August release at the very earliest now.
 
I'm trembling thinking about the MyNintendo preorders.

Looks like the same engine as XC2 and XC1: DE, so I'm expecting dynamic resolution dropping as low as 240p half of the time in handheld.
 
After watching the trailer a 2nd time, really like the idea that all party members can fight on battle. Its very common in RPGs that you stick (post mid game) with 3/4 party members out of 7/9 total and the others you don’t use them. It happened me in the first Xenoblade, where mid game I stuck with Rex-Dunban-Riki party, the others don’t use them much aside from fun.

If the story, setting and everything else delivers, this can be the best Xeno game lol.

At last, the leaks that this game pushed Switch beyond its capabilities were true lol.
 
I could not be happier. I'm currently replaying the second game and it's just as addicting as it was the first time around.

Also does this game have an official website now with music snippets etc.? Seem to remember 2 having that
 
Judging by the short combat snippet it sounds like Monolith is snatching best combat theme from themselves for the fourth time in a row.
 
wat. Hopefully this is a weird result of BotW 2 getting delayed and not something else getting delayed.

The nations of Keves and Agnus are at war. The main characters are being pursued by these nations as "monsters"/"Ouroboros." They want to learn why their nations are fighting, so they travel to Swordsmarch to find out.
 
I wonder if they could've incorporated FSR during development.

This game is pretty as hell but if it's going to end up being blurry like my experience of DE, I'll hold off til Drake.
 
Wow, a game as big as Xeno 3 launching two months before it's original launch date it's quite something. It sure speaks a lot about how great is monolith soft, one of the best and most profitable acquisition for Nintendo.

Very hyped, the game looks astonishing, was hoping to see an upgrade on performance given that Xeno 2 launched on the switch first year, but... Wow. Let just hope everyone who wants the collectors edition can order it.
 
damn i forgot this is right after live a live. i hope it doesn't negatively affect the sales of live a live.
 
Surprised to see the game releasing sooner, but it also matches the rumors about the game being finished for a while and Monolithsoft basically polishing/optimizing it since then. As others said, Splatoon 3 may fall from summer and be a fall game.
