Kirby is a sweet, beautiful baby boy. You look at him, you point, you say, "That's a baby, that's my baby. My sweet baby boy."

But he's probably some sort of ageless entity of destruction, though I suppose he could be an infant of whatever incomprehensible species he is (assuming there are more of him and he isn't a unique entity), we have no idea what the maturity cycle for him is.
 
kirby is like when you see an adult deer in a sunlit clearing walk up to a bush, snag a bird, and eat it whole, alive

then it looks at you, and in that moment you know

this thing is real and alive, and everything it does it does by choice

in boundless agency it has shown me what it can do

and in this moment, in allowing me to witness it, is curious what I will do
 
I don't know what kirby is exactly but I get the feeling whatever it is, it doesn't have age so it can't be a baby or an adult or anything like that.

The concepts of age or time are meaningless for a creature like Kirby. This is simply mortals trying to grasp the true nature of what Kirby is and this will only lead to madness. Do not peer beyond the veil
 
I guess to provide a serious answer, I'm not sure if Kirby is a baby, but Kirby is Baby.

There is a difference.

Kirby is the oldest one, the unknowable one, kirby is a name given to him by his enemies, the elders called him the nameless one, one whose full name is unknowable to mortals, as its complexity and grandeur would surely drive us mad, or worse, destroy us from the molecular level.

I have played every kirby game since the first on game boy, and I have never conceived him as a baby. But I don't know, maybe it would be a good question for Sakurai.

In the Kirby Right Back at Ya cartoon my kids weirdly started watching on YouTube, Kirby has just arrived from space as a new star warrior (or something). He does seem to have many attributes of a baby and is treated like an infant in need of protection by the other characters in the show.

But is he really a baby? Nah I don't think so

the anime is its own continuity where he actually is a baby, though able to function more autonomously than people would expect from a baby

but in the games, he's just kirby. he can talk and reason and own property and hold political opinions about the role of absolute monarchs in dreamland society

Having at this thread's conception invoked a pretentious argument about the nature of characters in ever-continuing series, I now must laugh at my foolishness.

Of course Kirby is a baby. It is clear. He is the baby of something you or I could never comprehend.

Compared to his kind like Meta Knight, I suppose a case could be made that he is young since his ilk has wings but he clearly does not have them. What is certainly clear is that Kirby is bald.

Did you know that Kirby is the most powerful character in the entire universe and the entire existence of reality that he makes the gods and demons that exist from the heavens and hells trembling in their feet as he devours kingdoms and planets with his indefinite absorption powers that increase his ability to shake the entire fabric reality that as we know it and when he has finished terrorizing entire universe, dimensions, galaxies and planets he settles down in his various living conditions and houses and plays chief only to when he messes up the entire existence of the civilization suddenly evaporates from all known written history almost as if his anger of not being able to properly cook has the ability to rewrite history itself and only the gods themselves can recall the terrorizing aftermath that had occurred as everyone shakes in their boots as the being known as kirby, one of the stars, continues to existence when fabrics of realities have been destroyed by this creature whom no one can ever say for sure what they actually truely are he is beyond even the gods as he existences beyond a singularity and even beyond the powers of the almighty crushing those in his path with his cute ball of fur and smiling face with only one other being in existence is known to be able to truly fit up to such a monster which is the American kirby with his evil mean eyes and serious looks and if they were ever to meet everything would just cease to exist as their clashes would just destroy dimensions after dimensions, planets after planets, realities beyond in and out of universes and none will be left to tell the tales not even the almighty and gods that existed before hand as all we know will just cease to exist beyond everything.

They actually had marketing materials ready, so it was greenlit. I remember reading it was cancelled for a variety of reasons; lack of development progress, low popularity of the SNES Mouse, and getting too close to N64's launch.
