Literally anything that isn't currently rumored? When was the last time we had a Direct where every first party game announced was either previously known or heavily rumored?

Any combination of two of: Fire Emblem, Metroid, Donkey Kong and Xenoblade. Nintendo always knows how to surprise, so that also needs to be taken into account.

An entire list of the safest and most boring predictions. Also if they’re going to be this detailed and they still get the time wrong I’m calling BS. That is one of the easiest things to “predict” because it’s always at the same time cmon lmao.
 
Nate already teasing he thinks this will be a big one that starts 2022 out very strong for Nintendo.

Good remake or not it's still not a new game. They'd never do a direct with zero brand new games.

I guess I'm just more excited for the games that are currently announced than any possible surprises.
 
Time for some Pokémon announcement. We haven't had a Pokémon release for almost 2 weeks now. It's time!

I actually don't expect Metroid here (I expect it at E3 for a November release, for the 20th anniversary of the game.)
But it's hard to predict. It'll be stuff not rumored.
Personally putting a coin on a new Tomodachi game. Also feeling good about the possibility of Mario Musou being the Mario spin off of the year.

But Fire Emblem is to be expected. (Be it a new title or an Echoes one... I personally expect an echoes remake of Genealogy of the Holy War but oh well, apparently it's a brand new title first, supposedly still mostly lead by Koei Tecmo... We'll see how true that holds.)
Xenoblade has a long ass marketing cycle usually, so yeah it is to be expected here, unless it releases Q4 2022 (as in January to March 2023), which then it could be announced at E3.

I hope we see more of Zelda. If not maybe they are going to re-reveal it after announcing the new, more powerful, Switch revision.

Yeah I get that, details on the current slate of games are definitely exciting but for me it can never replace the be thrill of seeing a brand new game reveal.
