A bit of personal post, but I do think a lot of people has been in similar situations during the pandemic so I wanna share.
To cope with a lot of personal struggle - Cancer has played a big part in the near family during the pandemic, pandemic has made a siginicant dent on my physical and mental health over the last year and a half - I decided to start the year with a bang doing stuff that would actively improve my life be it health, economy and to be able enjoy my self (like actually play video games instead of just buying them
)
I didnt expect to get so many results so quickly - while I did change a lot of stuff, I did not even go overboard and it has gone incredibly smooth.
- Started walking daily - between 30-120minutes a day
- Removing energy drinks from my life
- No fast food or crips/chips but still eating everything else as long as it's home made
- Drinking a lot of water
- Not spend a single penny on anything I didnt need for the entire month of January - only bills, stuff for my kids and food.
- Starting to sell off stuff I didnt really need or use
- Give away clothes to charity I didnt use anymore
- Playing games
And with about 30 day "investment" It's been well worth the time. I lost 23 pounds out of the 50 I gained during the last year and a half - resting bpm dropped 10 beats per minute which has obviously led to many positives. I saved almost 700$ this month by not spending it on sheit, I sold stuff in boxes and on shelves for 1600$, I gave away 20kgs of clothes and I beat 4 games from the backlog.
I also managed to atract Covid again (for the 2nd time, not a good thing but still a happening for the month
) and certify myself as an ITIL 4 expert at work.
It's been a long time since but feeling proud of myself isnt something I do often so this was a pretty huge month for me.
With that out - for anyone in a similar situation: Small changes on stuff you
CAN affect make a huge difference for your mental (and physical) state =)
