News Pokémon Legends Z-A announced for Nintendo Switch, releasing in 2025

Please, please don't screw this up! I absolutely love megas and Kalos as a region.

I liked Legends: Arceus, going around and throwing Pokeballs all over the place was fun, for the first time. I don't think I'll like it another time. This game needs more "purpose." More battles.

The regular Switch logo is in the trailer, guys

But yeah I don't think anyone expected this

(also, where Pinball rom dammit?)
Still, the wording is kinda weird. Probably it means not much, but they could just have written 2025 and leave it with that.

So yeah, this is definitely future Kalos I’d say, given the upgrades made to Lumiose City

No gameplay at all or even anything resembling in-game visuals does raise some questions if this is a Switch 2 cross-gen launch title.

Legends could really use better draw distance and AA.

Legends also only ran OK because there's so little on screen and obviously this will not be true of a Legends game set in Paris.

Really happy with this outcome, Kalos needed expansion and it's coming 2025 which means it'll hopefully get the time it needs to cook. As a huge Unova stan I'm honestly a little relieved the remakes aren't here yet!

From the website it sounds like it will take place primarily/only in Lumiose City, which is pretty cool.

A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon. Please look forward to seeing it for yourself.

Very confused that they’re skipping Gen 5 but at least we don’t have to worry about them being butchered.

Legends Arceus had many issues so I’m not over the moon about this, but I do hope this game addresses them. Ditch strong and agile style please and make the Pokédex actually fun to complete instead of a repetitive grind.

Also really happy that there’s no mainline game this year, but for all we know this is another January release like Arceus was. I hope it feels more polished than the last few games.

Also yay Megas are back after 7 years! Maybe we finally get new ones?
the first switch 2 game was just announced
Pokemon released a DS game a year into the 3DS’s life and a 3DS game the year the Switch launched. This is a Switch game lol.

Z-A is an incredible title lmao

haven’t played a new pokemon since sword/shield but I’m afraid they’ve got me with this one

I assume this will be Q1 2025. So what will be the big 2024 Switch game? Donkey Kong bros it's our time to shine

“Releasing simultaneously in 2025”? Releasing simultaneously with what?
how is this even a question when nintendo/tpc has been using this phrasing for years? it means there's no localization delay in any region. it comes out everywhere on te same day.

Honestly cool they dom't feel the need to go chronologically because that has thr implication they made this game because they had a cool idea with the urban concept. Just Lumiose City seems like a great idea to me to scale it back but perhaps have it be more detailed
We probably should have seen that fact coming when they made the first Legends game based on Gen IV, rather than I - it wasn’t just to tie in with the Gen IV remakes, turns out it was indicating that they’ll just make whatever they want under that moniker, whenever they want.

Well that was an amazing announcement. I'm very glad they're continuing the Legends brand and what a swerve of a region choice. Megas coming back is great too

Also yeah it's finally nice to get Z

My mind is racing imagining an urban Legends game. From what little we've seen it seems like it's set just in the Lumiose city, this is going to be incredible. Legends fam, we won!
Finally, Poke-Yakuza

Wait no they just did that

I'm shocked that they are apparently taking more time than usual for this.
Ehhh I mean a hypothetical Switch 2 launch window game would put it right in the same window as Arceus (in terms of distance from the last GF title). I guess it could be holiday 2025 though

I love how they picked all the unlikeliest elements to make this game.
"Kalos won't be getting anything for years, "Pokemon Z is a meme that never came to be", "Legends was an one-off experiment", "mega evolutions are a forgotten gimmick".
And I'm glad they're taking their time. Gen 10 should be a 2026 game.

Legends Celebi next, please

I forgot the possibility of this being January 2025 like Legends Arceus lol, that would barely be more time than Holiday 2024 but we'll see!

Lumiose City will be such a fun "area" in the Legends format. That alone will make this game stand out from the first, in a way a game with another 5 wild areas wouldn't. That's enough to be excited about right there.

Also, this will be cross-gen for sure, which is exactly what Legends Arceus needed - better draw distance, IQ and resolution. Lots and lots to look forward to here. First really positive Nintendo news for me in months. Been nothing but shit news recently tbh

Nintendo Switch systems!

Edit: They could mean Oled + V2 + Lite

From the website it sounds like it will take place primarily/only in Lumiose City, which is pretty cool.
I suspect your base will be lumiose, I find it very hard to believe Lumiose city will be the only area you are in, that would be really odd and disappointing.
