Discussion Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Post-Sora Poll #1: Who are Your Most Wanted Characters for the Next Smash?

1. Dixie Kong: Her appearance is long overdue. I feel I can speak for everyone she should have been in Smash before most of the Nintendo characters that got in before her. She's from a very popular franchise that might be getting a huge comeback sometime this decade, and I'm sure she'll be part of it. Not to mention, she also starred in her own game.
2. Rayman: Despite the shit that's been going on at Ubisoft, I still want to see my boy Rayman. It breaks my heart how badly he's fallen. The fact he got less representation than the Rabbids in Ultimate is a straight up crime. He was one of Ubisoft's first successful IPs, and practically built the company. He's games are highly praised and beloved, and is the symbol Ubisoft's golden age before their games became soulless cash grabs. Fix your shit, and fire all of the scumbags at Ubisoft first though.
3. Crash: Same as above about shitty companies. Crash has had it better than my boy Rayman that's for sure. I love the Crash games, and I think it's only matter of time before the Bandicoot gets in.
4. Doom Slayer: I get a feeling Master Chief might get in before the Slayer, but I hope this doesn't ruin his chances. Doom is THE FPS. Without it we probably wouldn't have Halo or CoD. It influence an entire industry, and I was happy Sakurai took notice of it in Ultimate. Perhaps he can be upgraded to playable status?
5. Nahobino/Jack Frost/(insert popular SMT demon here): I've been on an SMT kick lately, and I think it would be cool to see SMT representation in Smash. No, Persona doesn't count. I was thinking about how they should go about it, and I felt it was appropriate if they take the Pokemon Trainer route with it. After all, the series was Pokemon before Pokemon. I chose Nahobino because despite the cool designs of earlier protagonists, Nahobino looks like they would have more gameplay options with the way their sword hand works. Pressing down b will change to Jack Frost because how can you say no to Atlus's adorable troll mascot. Now I'm not sure who would be the third demon. I looked up the most popular demon in SMT, and... yeah... Mara isn't going to cut it. Alice was the second most popular but I'm not sure she's "demon" enough. Whoever's chosen, they should pick an element that doesn't have much representation in Smash like Wind (Force) or Poison.
That's pretty much it for me. Honorable mentions go to: Tails, Robotnik, Dante, Toad, Paper Mario, Birdo, Midna, BotW Champions, Chun Li, Protoman (echo?), Zero, Goemon, and Krystal. I'm sure I left someone out, but oh well.

1. Excitebiker - This would be cool and they'd have an incredible victory screen.
2. Impa - I like her. I want more Zelda characters. Look at Hyrule Warriors and make a legend happen.
3. Pauline - If you gave her Cappy as her grab move and after doing enough damage she can possess you.. that would be awesome and chaotic.
4. Doc Louis - I honestly don't think Lil Mac is good representation for how wacky and animated the Punch Out series is. They could let loose with a wild and imaginative Doc Louis moveset. Give him a chocolate bar based Limit Break. A Bicycle attack. Jump-rope move that let's him hover. He'd be great.
5. Chibi-Robo - their series may be dead but they can live on in Smash. Give them a toothbrush move where they can polish the floor and make people trip up all the time. Maybe they have to constantly recharge their battery? idk

I never stopped to put together a list, so I'll, rather than work through a reasoned list, throw something together quickly. If nothing else, it'll still be a really good list, because I have impeccable taste.
-- Ayumi Tachibana (Famicom Detective Club) -- It's known that Ayumi was considered as a fighter for Melee, but didn't make it in. I'm putting her on this list because she deserves to finally make her way into the kerfuffle. Now give us a physical collection of the Famicom Detective Club releases, please and thank you.
-- Twintelle (ARMS) -- I'm one of those heathens who thinks Min Min was the correct choice for the DLC character, just edging out Twintelle for different reasons. With that out of the way, ARMS' other leading lady should make her way in; between Min Min and Twintelle is a tough call if only one can make it, but this scenario means we're no longer dealing with that stipulation. Teabagging is simultaneously so juvenile and so oldschool; let me lean back in the air and sip my tea as I read a book.
-- Chibi-Robo (Chibi-Robo!) -- I need to throw a cute mascot type character, and this little guy meets that requirement. This robot can join ROB as a fighter, easily. I still say a well-done recharge could do really well for this series.
-- Medusa (Kid Icarus) -- Here we have a mirror for Pit's goddess of light, Palutena, in the form of Medusa -- the final piece in the puzzle of bringing in major players from the series' beginning. With Uprising, a revamp bringing an old, dead, series to life in the modern age, Medusa is given a form easily used for Smash, almost a bridge between the olden days and current Nintendo.
-- Saki Amamiya (Sin and Punishment) -- Sin and Punishment's Achi would make a lot of sense for, um, actually quite obvious reasons once you get into it, but Saki here oozes so much aesthetic style and and Smash potential --going so far as to have been given an Assist Trophy in the past that believably seems it could have been designed as a basis for playability!-- that I'm going to give this to him.
--Barista, the Dog (Rhythm Heaven)-- The obvious go-to for Rhythm Heaven is clearly the Chorus Kids, but I'll lean a different direction for this list. Barista is a Dog that runs a Café. How amazingly adorable is that? Barista has a taunt that makes nearby fighters pet the dog.

Again, this is a list I threw together really quickly because I never sat down to formulate one. As such, this listing is likely to change at any given moment if I am asked about wanted characters for Super Smash Bros.
Some other considerations:
Doc Louis and Mr. Sandman from Punch-Out!! were a couple characters I wanted to include. They both fit in slightly differently. Doc Louis seems more distinct visually and integrates specifically with the cartoony flair of the game. He's retired, no longer a fighter by trade, which puts him into a different archtype from others. Mr. Sandman, however, is recurring as a major rival for Little Mac and would work as a foil in different ways.
Alexandra Roivas from Eternal Darkness is one that it hurts not to put into the actual list. Different ways in which sanity could be integrated into the game could be fascinating, and she shows a much different side to Nintendo's catalogue than any other fighter. I request a new Eternal Darkness game which gives her a wardrobe that can be more iconic. Throw in Pious Augustus and we're really getting somewhere.
Anna and Tiki are my go to suggestions for Fire Emblem, because of their long history with and importance to the series, appearing consistently throughout. They didn't make the main list because Fire Emblem appears a lot in Smash already.
If The Legend of Zelda were to receive another character, the obvious choice is Impa. The series does already have the characters it absolutely needs, however, and the vastly different forms Impa has had over the years require some decisions that could hinder her entrance. Tingle is, actually, another possible addition, given his continuous appearance.
Marina was a high contender as well, possibly as part of the Off the Hook duo, as a new character from Splatoon. It remains to be seen how that series will continue to use her, but I have high hopes.
I've always maintainted that Goku should be added to the series. No, not that Goku! The Monkey King! Brought in from Nintendo's Yūyūki! It's the cultured answer. Clearly you must know Journey to the West?
Dixie Kong is the clear monkey to add, prominent in the Donley Kong series. After her, we can consider Cranky Kong, who adds a geriatric and very crochety element to the roster.
As far as animal characters go, I would be remiss not to mention Krystal from Star Fox. Give her a good design and a staff.
We must also consider another realm of Nintendo crossovers. Give us the tititular Captain Rainbow.

Magolor is popular and would be a fun addition, probably the best character to rep modern Kirby, but after Forgotten Land, I could see potential for Elfilin getting in

Dixie winning comfortably warms my heart. She really should have been in by now. I'm still partially suspicious that the reason Diddy's down B is so bad is that Sakurai still wants to return to his (alleged) Tag Team idea for Diddy and Dixie, but couldn't in Smash 4 due to technical constraints and didn't in Ultimate as that would defeat the 'everyone is here' tagline.
